FROM FUR TO FEATHERS MAN’S BEST FRIENDS DESCEND ON BROADWAY AT MACY’S PETACULAR FAIR® Pet Fashion Show hosted by Lady Bunny, children’s author Laura Numeroff, a special appearance by Sadie, winner of the Westminster Dog Show and ASPCA Cat Adoption Van await New Yorkers and visitors on Sunday, March 28th

Free family fun for all lies ahead at Macy’s annual Petacular Fair®! As pets strut their stuff down the Pets on Parade runway, children and parents alike can enjoy performances, special events and demonstrations all taking place directly in front of the Broadway doors on opening day of the 36th annual Macy’s Flower Show® at Herald Square.

Macy’s Petacular Fair

Tails are wagging, wings are flapping and fur is flying in anticipation of the 13th annual Macy’s Petacular Fair! The only place where people play second fiddle to their pets as they take center stage.  Family fun for all ages is full speed ahead as our furry friends march down the runway at the Pets on Parade fashion show, hosted by the one-and-only personality extraordinaire Lady Bunny! This multi-talented, self-proclaimed drag artiste is taking time out of her busy schedule to help the precocious pets prance down the catwalk and strike a pose. But that’s not all; Petacular Fair features high-energy performances and demonstrations for the whole family to enjoy. Visitors will even get the chance to meet Sadie, this year’s winner of the Westminster Kennel Club 134th Annual Dog Show in person. 
Below are some of the activities scheduled for the 13th annual Macy’s Petacular Fair:
Pets on Parade
 
Look out as alpha dogs and fierce felines take the catwalk by storm in this outrageous fashion show! Furry friends will upstage their owners as they show off their fabulous outfits and work the runway. Pets on Parade registration begins at 11 AM and ends at 1:45 PM, during which time, New York’s most fabulous pets hit the runway competing for best in show. These loveable showoffs are begging for The Canine Couture (Best Dog), The Cat’s Meow (Best Cat), The Featured Creature (Most Exotic Pet) and The Grand Petacular (Best of Show) titles. The winning pets and their owners will receive fun prizes and the honor of achieving Petacular fame!

Macy’s Garden Variety Theatre

Prepare to be entertained! This year, Macy’s hosts its very own special variety show with a wide cast of characters. Rotating every 20 minutes will be performances by Brooklyn’s own tween rock group Care Bears on Fire, Off-Broadway’s Gazillion Bubble Show, and Imaginocean with a puppet demonstration from creator John Tartaglia.

In addition, children’s author Laura Numeroff will read excerpts from her award-winning books including “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” and “If You Give a Pig a Pancake.” Last but not least, there will be a special treat for all those animal lovers out there…Directly from the touring cast of 101 Dalmations the Musical, animal trainer Joel Slavin along with some members of the cast will demonstrate their show-stopping tricks!

Westminster Dog Show

Animal lovers will have the special, VIP opportunity to meet the Best-in-Show winner of this year’s Westminster Kennel Club 134th Annual Dog Show …Sadie, an adorable, five-year old Scottish Terrier. In addition, the Easter Bunny and other fan favorite celebrity characters will be on hand to meet and mingle with the youngsters.

ASPCA Mobile Adoption Van
 
Visitors looking for a feline companion have come to the right place. The ASPCA will be offering on-the-spot adoption of adult cats who are in need of a loving home.
Macy’s Petacular Fair will end at 2 PM with the traditional 12-gun confetti release, a magnificent introduction to the springtime oasis awaiting visitors inside Macy’s Herald Square.
