Damascus Bakery's Plain Roll-Up Flat Bread Highly Recommended by Whom You Know! We Are Pleased to Kick Off Coverage of this Illustrious Brand!

Sandwiches are one of my favorite things to eat for lunch. Actually, I have to admit, I like to eat sandwiches any time of day! Unfortunately one downside of eating too many sandwiches is all the carbs that come with the bread. Fortunately, Damascus Bakery has made these wonderful Plain Roll-Up flat breads, so I can enjoy delicious sandwiches all the time without all the guilt! The are great for wrapping up your favorite deli meats and toppings. They can even be used to make a quesadilla roll up! I just spread some salsa, cheese, and a bit of cilantro on one of these roll ups, and heated it up on a frying pan. Voila! I had a mouthwatering, and super easy dinner ready for me to sink my teeth into!
In today's health-conscious society, finding great-tasting food that is also good for you can often be a challenge! Far too often, taste is sacrificed as products try to lower their carbs and calories. We all know that eating grains can pile on the pounds, but what are the alternatives? Happily, Damascus Bakery has devoted themselves to providing a plethora of healthy, tasty, and satisfying alternatives. I recently tried their Plain All Natural Roll-Ups, and was delighted to find that it had a great deal more taste and character than other low-carb bread products I'd tried. I made some tasty turkey and swill roll-ups with them, and I also made a delicious, Mediterranean-style pizza with one, which was out of this world! I just lightly brushed olive oil over the roll-up, sprinkled low-fat feta, carmelized red onions, and chopped kalamata olives on top, baked it for about 10 minutes, and then drizzled it with aged balsamic vinegar. The result was phenomenal, and I had absolutely none of the guilt I usually have after eating pizza. I will definitely be keeping these roll-ups in stock!
I had to make a dessert out of at least ONE of these delicious items from Damascus Bakeries! I selected the Plain All Natural Roll-up for my dessert concoction. I was thinking along the lines of fresh crepes, but using a healthy Plain All Natural Roll-up from Damascus Bakeries instead. I warmed the roll-up just a little bit in a skillet before slathering on some Nutella, banana and fresh sliced strawberries. It was just as delicious as a crepe, but tasted more substantial. It seemed like it would be a great snack, not just a dessert. Bottom line is the Damascus Bakeries Roll-ups work well in both sweet and savory uses.
Damascus is a brand I've known since they started to send their delicious breads out into the world. Although the bakery was founded in the 1930's in New York City, they didn't begin to wholesale until 1969. We were always on the look-out for interesting and healthy ideas in the 1960's, and these breads filled our need for carbs. The plain roll-up can be used in so many ways, because it's just about the lightness of the bread. It's perfect for a breakfast roll-up. That's not to say you can't use it for anything else. As a perfect addition to the table, the flat breads can be used wherever "regular" bread is eaten. It makes a great pb & j as well, in case you've the appetite of an all-american teenager.

For a nation struggling with obesity, Damascus Bakeries' delicious new Bake-Sense All Natural Roll-Ups are the perfect vehicle for healthy lunches and dinners. The four types of ultra thinflatbreads are fortified with essential fibers, proteins and nutrients, and they also have a portion-sense size, so consumers know how many calories and carbs they're eating.

Children, teens and adults will enjoy eating their favorite heart-healthy ingredients inside the all natural and flavorful wraps, for lunch or dinner. The roll-ups come in four types: Garden and Grains, Flax, Whole Wheat andPlain. And unlike many other flatbreads, the Bake Sense Roll-Ups are supple and fold easily over grilled meats, spreads and vegetables or deli meats and cheeses – while offering health benefits from chia and flax seeds. They also are a delicious base for pizza, or can be cut into wedges and quickly baked to make chips for creamy hummus or spicy guacamole.

The Bake-Sense Roll-Ups were created by Damascus Bakeries in Brooklyn. The bakery is owned and operated by third-generation bakers David and Edward Mafoud. The two brothers, whose maternal grandfather started the bakery in 1930, believe that bread is a labor of love. And that love goes into each package of their pita, lahvash, panini and roll-ups.

The Mafoud's also believe in the credo “Keeping well beats getting well,” which was the inspiration for the Bake Sense Roll-Ups. The flatbreads contain heart-healthy fibers, proteins and nutrients while also being low incalories and carbs. The Bake Sense Roll-Ups were designed to naturally help promote weight management and well being.

But health aside, the roll-ups are pliable and delectable. For instance, the Garden and Grain Roll Ups have ingredients that read like the offering at a farmers market stand. The flatbreads contain red and green bell peppers, onion, spinach and sunflower seeds – which makes them as pleasing to the eye as they are to the palate.
