By Jo Miller, President of Maine Woolens

"Three years ago Maine Woolens did our first New York City Textile Show. It was at the first show that I met a lovely young woman who went by the name Peachy Deegan. She is a well-known journalist in the city with a large Twitter and Facebook following. Very much interested in promoting America and American-made products, Peachy was delighted with our line of blankets and throws that are made in our vertical mill in Brunswick, Maine. We were a start-up company with no name recognition. Our website in the first year had only 25 orders. When Peachy started to write about us and we began to sponsor some of her stories our sales increased tenfold the first year. It is often hard to know where to put your advertising dollars but Peachy is so impressed by our products that she features us in more stories than we sponsor. My hats off to Peachy, her diligent work and continued support of American industry."
