Peachy Deegan Strolls to Fifth Avenue to Meet the Person and the Brains Behind the Great Products: Dr. Michelle Copeland! As the Sun Comes Out in Manhattan, Take Care of Your Skin! She is the first woman plastic surgeon with a full line of skin-care products

Back in 2010, we were raving about the products by Dr. Michelle Copeland.
A Harvard-trained plastic surgeon, Dr. Copeland has a flourishing Manhattan practice that has treated thousands of people worldwide, including many celebrities. Dr. Copeland practices a full range of plastic and reconstructive surgery for both adult and pediatric patients. Dr. Copeland is a member of the teaching faculty at Mt. Sinai Medical School. In addition, she serves on the Medical Health Advisory Board for the Society for the Advancement of Women's Health Research, advising Congress on health issues affecting women.  Peachy Deegan is not considering plastic surgery, but if you are, clearly Dr. Copeland is among the best.  We visited her recently because we're catching up with our favorite brands that we featured earlier in our history, and we talked about skin cancer.  Though Dr. Copeland's practice covers more complex issues, we feel this is relevant as finally, finally, finally this year the sun comes out and it becomes spring.

When you do your skincheck for skin cancer, you should look for any markings that seem suspicious.  You should be especially vigilant if you have a family history, and note any changes in pigment, and once you pick this up yourself, of course you should go to your doctor.  Brown spots are warning signs particularly on fingertips and toes, and like all cancers, early detection is key.  Peachy once thought whoever is the tannest, wins, and was very dark coming back to school in September; however she abandoned that philosophy long ago.  It's been a few years since we covered Dr. Copelands top product line but we hope to feature her again in that context and an interview as well.

Dr. Copeland has dedicated her distinguished career to helping women and men look younger, feel healthier, and live better. Drawing on her extensive knowledge of biochemistry and her clinical experience, Dr. Copeland has created a line of skin-care products—now available to the public—initially formulated to meet the special needs of her patients. The doctor personally develops and tests each product to ensure its efficacy and safety. She is the first woman plastic surgeon with a full line of skin-care products.

The doctor appears frequently on national television programs including NBC's Today Show and ABC's Good Morning America. She is regularly quoted in major newspapers and beauty magazines including The New York Times, Town & Country, Allure, Women's Health, Elle, Lucky, Parade, and Cosmopolitan. She is invited to speak at conferences around the world and recently presented her pioneering techniques for enhancing facial rejuvenation at international scientific symposia on aging skin in Paris, Cyprus, Florence, Tokyo, Bangkok, and Beijing.

Dr. Copeland is the author of two best-selling books, The Beautiful Skin Workout (St. Martin's Griffin) and Change Your Looks, Change Your Life (HarperCollins). She has also published numerous articles in medical and science journals.
