Honoree Nile Rodgers, attendees include EDM DJ and producer Avicii, six-time GRAMMY winner Al Jarreau, R&B singer/songwriter Ledisi, singer/songwriter and producer Ric Ocasek, eight-time GRAMMY winner Rick Rubin, GRAMMY winner Slash, pop singer Kathy Sledge, GRAMMY winner Jody Watley, three-time GRAMMY winner "Weird Al" Yankovic, Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow, Recording Academy Chair Christine Albert, LA Chapter President Mindi Abair and members of The Recording Academy® Producers & Engineers Wing, along with musical artists, producers, and other prominent music industry figures will be in attendance. The Producers & Engineers Wing® of The Recording Academy® will celebrate its eighth annual GRAMMY Week event honoring three-time GRAMMY® winner Nile Rodgers for his commitment to excellence and ongoing support for the art and craft of recorded music. With a music career spanning more than five decades, Rodgers is an acclaimed musician, composer, arranger and guitarist and one of the most influential music producers in the history of popular music. He is an unprecedented philanthropist and founder of the We Are Family Foundation as well as the recipient of numerous awards and accolades. In 2014, the hit single, "Le Freak" by his group Chic was inducted into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame.
