Josh Saunders Nominated for Major League Soccer Save of the Week for Week 21

New York City FC goalkeeper Josh Saunders has been nominated for Major League Soccer Save of the Week for Week 21.

Saunders was credited with one save in the Club's 5-3 win over Orlando City SC on Sunday, but it was a big one. In the 76th minute, Kaka latched onto the ball near the touch line. He cut back a pass to Servando Carrasco in the middle of the 18-yard box. Carrasco's left-footed shot from close range was palmed away from the lower corner by Saunders for a corner kick.

Saunders, who earned his ninth MLS Save of the Week nomination, is up for the Week 21 accolade along with Jeff Attinella (Real Salt Lake), Steve Clark (Columbus Crew), Tyler Deric (Houston Dynamo) and Brian Rowe (Los Angeles Galaxy).

The MLS veteran currently ranks fourth in the league with 68 saves, behind Steve Clark (72), Stefan Frei (71) and David Bingham (71).

Voting runs until 11:59 p.m. PT on Thursday
