READ THIS: THE ULTIMATE ELOISE BY KAY THOMPSON ILLUSTRATED BY HILARY KNIGHT

If you read Whom You Know closely and you love, love, love us, you absolutely must love ELOISE, because Peachy Deegan read these books for the first time many years ago and just simply aspires to be Eloise. She still reads them as an adult. We went looking for Eloise at The Rose Club at The Plaza when we reviewed that:

Eloise wasn't available that day as she was taking a bawth, so we had Champagne with Executive Chef Willis Loughead which was fabulous.

We can't wait until she is old enough to go out with Peachy and drink The Peachy Deegan ...but she does get into a lot of mischief so perhaps she has already found it!

I am always looking for books to bring into my classroom. Being a teacher of reading and writing, it's important to me to have good books. I absolutely love Eloise. Her books are perfect for my classroom. I love how many of my girls really connect with Eloise as a character. They love Eloise: The Ultimate Edition because of the 4 books in one. I can get many writing and social studies lessons out of Eloise as well. We talk about the 1950s and The Plaza. It even makes it's way into vocabulary instruction. Eloise makes my students want to read and want to learn more. Many of my students who read her end up laughing out loud. They can't stop talking about her for days. This book, I can tell, will be a hot commodity in my room. I will have to have a special checkout just for The Ultimate Edition. I've told several other teachers in my building about this book. I cannot wait until school starts to see a fresh set of eyes enjoy Eloise.

Eloise is someone I grew up with and always imagined sharing with her my daughter. Now that she is three, I am introducing her to the best Tiny Tyrant in print. Of course we have all the books. But the Ultimate Edition Eloise is the Ultimate collector’s dream. This evergreen brand and characters come together with four titles. Plus, the cover is fantastic featuring Eloise and Weenie window shopping for her four grand books. A great idea wrapped up in a shiny new wrapper. Also PERFECT for traveling (minus the weight). One book has it all. My next move is to make this my signature gift for all girls birthday parties. Books are such a great gift and this be a welcome addition to any child’s library. Lucky for me, my parents allowed me to have a real Skiperdee as well. So make sure to add this to your Eloise collection, you can relive great memories all over again.

The Ultimate Eloise is clearly a must-have for any Eloise fan. This rawther large book contains Eloise Eloise Eloise (and more Eloise). It opens with "The Absolutely Essential Eloise", which is of course, a fabulous introduction to the infamous little girl. This Ultimate Edition also contains "Eloise in Paris", "Eloise at Christmastime" and "Eloise in Moscow". Additionally, there is a special scrapbook section featuring information all about the author, Kay Thompson and illustrator, Hilary Knight. I particularly enjoyed the scrapbook section as it is chock full of vintage photos and wonderful stories about both Thompson and Knight. This is the first time my four year old had been exposed to Eloise and I must say, he rawther enjoyed her! Her escapades made him giggle out loud and he liked pointing out when she was "naughty". He loved her pug dog, Weenie, and turtle, Skiperdee and the adventures they have with Eloise. This treasury is a wonderful collection of Eloise and would make a great gift for any child. It is something that a child can grow with and love for many years to come. To have four Eloise stories plus the scrapbook all in one makes for a fantastic keepsake! My four year old quite enjoyed the escapades of the precocious little Eloise, her nanny, Weenie and Skiperdee. One word of warning though...if you are reading Eloise for a bedtime story, allow some extra time as she is rawther long-winded! Any fan of Eloise (young or old) will simply love love love this collection!
