"Amo Le Scarpe Italiane" means I love Italian shoes! And we can't wait to review more of them.
Whom You Know was delighted to attend the recent event at Eataly and was lucky to sit at the Italian table; they asked her if she wanted to sit at an English speaking press table and her response was no way! She wanted to be fluent by the end of the meal and understood more than she could communicate; next time she'll have to bring her friend Stefano Saccani from Milan to translate everything...ANCI, the Italian Footwear Manufacturers’ Association in collaboration with ICE, the Italian Trade Commission, has announced at a press conference held today at Eataly the New York edition of “I LOVE ITALIAN SHOES”. They will showcase the creativity, flair, sophistication and exquisite craftsmanship and style of “Made in Italy” shoe design and production during the December edition of FFANY, from December 1st to December 3rd at the Hilton Hotel. Whom You Know went to every booth in this fair today and you can notice quite a qualitative difference between shoes that are made in Italy and those that are not.
Italian shoes, renowned for their expert combination of traditional craftsmanship, modern technology and design have the largest influence on the footwear industry internationally. The most prestigious shoe designs in the world today are Italian. “We are incredibly proud to be able to represent the world’s finest craftsmen and shoemakers. In our modern global economy the dedication to hand-crafted quality of all ANCI members is a precious rarity,” remarked Fabio Aromatici, General Manager of ANCI, “while of course we are focused on economic success, as Italians, our first focus will always be the quality, craftsmanship and care that has gone into each of our shoes for countless generations.”
“We are happy and proud to work with ANCI in order to present at FFANY the workmanship, design and extraordinary imagination of our designers and manufacturers”, said Aniello Musella, Italian Trade Commissioner and Executive Director for USA, headquartered in New York. “Italy is the third largest exporter of footwear in the United States. Italy holds, the first place in the footwear luxury sector”, he added. He was delightful to chat with at lunch too!
The “I Love Italian shoes” project will celebrate its New York edition with a private cocktail and preview of the fall 2011 season at the New York Public Library. In the spirit of fine Italian craftsmanship ANCI has hand selected traditional dishes and cocktails from each of the four regions that the association proudly represents here in New York: Lombardy, Marche, Tuscany and Veneto.
In order to celebrate the entrance in America, ANCI is presenting a gourmet synthesis of the Italian lifestyle and culture that has made its products so highly prized in the global marketplace: quality, creativity and tradition.
The presence of a group of selected companies at FFANY has been made possible through the joint promotional activities of ANCI and ICE in the US market.
ICE is the Italian government agency entrusted with the development, facilitation and promotion of trade between Italy and other countries in the world. Its mission is to support the internationalization of Italian firms and their consolidation in foreign markets.
An outstanding job by A. Cicognani Communications!
