Wednesday, February 23 - Children will get to build and fly "foam flyer" airplanes. Thursday, February 24 - We will have a mini Open Cockpit Day with approximately 8 aircraft open for visitor entry. This is your chance to play pilot! The Museum will be open from 10:00 am-5:00 pm and the cockpits will close at 4:00 pm. Friday, February 25 - There will be a "Build & Explore Parachutes" program. Children will build and deploy parachutes and they will also have the opportunity to handle a parachute from WWII. |
Most of the activities will be hands-on. Visitors can try on a real space suit, pilot a space craft simulator, touch a meteorite, taste space food, learn about the atmosphere of Mars, build a rocket and more. There will be special guest appearances and presentations throughout the day. An Apollo 13 exhibit and presentation will show how the crew was rescued thanks in great part to many of the engineers at Hamilton Sundstrand who had desi gned and built the life support system for the mission. The Space Expo will run from 10 AM to 4:30 PM. For the convenience of visitors, a food vendor will be on site all day. http://www.neam.org/ |
