Tasty Tidbits: Primavera

Primavera was established in 1978 by Nicola Civetta. After completing work on some of the greatest venues of the time such as Sign of the Dove, Rainbow Room and helping to open Regine's in New York City, Nicola decided to venture on his own serving up top-notch Northern Italian cusine in a homey atmosphere with 10 tables.

Due to the pure volume of clients which was nothing short of A-list: think The Stones, Diana Ross, Jackie O, Jack Nicholson and the elite of NYC. Following that success, Nicola decided to expand to a bigger location just up the block.

Since 1984 Primavera has been located on 82nd and First avenue in its beautiful bi-level space fully-equipped with a wine cellar made up of over 10,000 wines. The restaurant is designed by a Milanese architect using cherry wood panelling and rich fabrics. The restaurant has an classic vibe where Nicola goes to no end to make one feel welcome as if it were their own home.

A specilty of Primavera is the baby goat which they have been serving up since the begging and they always deliver during truffle season. Nicola further spread his talents when he opened a 3-star restaurant in Locust Valley called Caminaris for two years starting in 1995 until he decided to refocus on his venture in NYC and Tuscany.

Primavera continues to churn out food that leaves patrons desiring a quick return with top of the line service and quality.

The restaurant is open 7 days a week from 5pm to 12pm.
