#InauguralReview #Audace Since 2024 by #MarioUrsumando #Italian #Napoli 365 Park Avenue South at 26th Street

Gnocchi Ripieni Al Pesto e Tartufo, Peachy Deegan's favorite

In 2016, Italy's loss became America's gain when Napoli native Mario Ursumando landed in Orlando, Florida and began his USA hospitality career in Disneyworld!  In March 2019, Mario relocated to New York.  Our newest culinary discovery is his brainchild: Audace!  Audace opened November 6, 2024.  It's Italian with a specific concentration on Napoli for the most part.  The name means audacious in Italian, and is an upscale culinary homage to his homeland that includes recipes from his maternal grandmother and has been verified in person by his mom, who has traveled across the Atlantic to see just how audacious it is!  Mario tells us that the menu here is traditional and reimagined.
There are three salad choices and we chose the Imperatore Cesare, above, and chose to add grilled shrimp.  Romaine lettuce forms a fresh base and homemade croutons, cured egg yolk, 24 month Parmigiano Reggiano Vacche Rosse and freshly made Caesar dressing teamed up for an ideal classic.
The appetizer section has a number of choices, and we narrowed it down to first: the Gamberi e Calamari Alle 3 Salse.  The saffron mayo was the highlight of this dish and excelled in flavor and uniqueness and won the virtual faceoff on Peachy's palate.  Mediterranean Herb Aioli and Marinara played wingman to its center.
Note pictures are always unedited.
You excel like Mario, or we do not publish.
Also note it is probably harder to impress us as an Italian new to us because of our extensive Italian experience by now!  Say enchante to Crudo di Dentice: Wild-caught Red Snapper Crudo, Leche de Tigre, Passion Fruit, Pistachio and Basil.  We totally commend this intelligent combination and the proportion of each element to the others, and particularly love the Red Snapper in New York, rarely found by us.  Normally we have it in Florida, however as we mentioned, Mario has Florida experience.
Audace receives fish deliveries every day we're told and is open seven days a week.  Also it's a nice touch they make their own bread in house and serve it with outstanding Olive Oil from Sicily.  Their cooking oil is from Napoli.
The pasta we encountered was truly spectacular and was the strongest area of the menu based on our first experience.  Rigatoni al Ragu Napoletano was a classic reinvented, and presented in a gorgeous fashion.  We found Audace to be highly aesthetically motivated in culinary presentation overall.  Pastificio Mancini Rigatoni, Slow-Cooked Neapolitan Ragu, 24 month Parmigiano Reggiano Vacche Rosse fondue and homemade basil-infused EVOO lived up to the reimagined traditional theme and accentuated the true thesis of Audace.  It was incredible and perfect for a chillier day.
Tagliatelle Ai Porcini was the next superstar with homemade Tagliatelle that was perfectly al dente.  Porcini mushrooms exuded supreme richness amongst homemade truffle butter, reflecting a pronounced fall flavor exuding style.  The movie stars on the walls surely want to jump out of the pictures and come alive to dine and we particularly liked seeing Paul Newman who was an even better race car driver than he was an actor!  Twenty-five percent of the menu changes four times a year, seasonally.
The shining star of the entire experience was the Gnocchi Ripieni al Pesto e Tartufo.  Seven select gorgeous little gnocci beauties are precisely filled with bright basil pesto, served with pine nuts and luxurious shaved black truffle and further highlighted with an amazing drizzle of intoxicatingly delicious burrata cream.  This is a fragrant knockout sensation both visually and even more in terms of deliciousness, which is the real key to success.
Audace, though Italian from Italy, knows they are in New York after all and New York is full of people like Peachy who worship Chicken Parm.  To that end, Cotoletta di Pollo has a make it parm option which we exercised with glee.  Organic breaded chicken breast is a lovely rendition of the beloved classic here at Audace and is served with Organic Arugula and Cherry Tomatoes on the side in a bowl.
If you also love fish, Audace hits the high notes with Swordfish, the steak of the sea not often found on menus today.  The sensational Grilled Swordfish is a revelation of fresh substantial flavor in a good size joined by eggplant puree, cherry tomato confit and capers.
Sixty-four seats are in the dining area, while you'll discover twenty more in the bar section.
They also have eleven pizzas but we have not gotten that far yet.
We sipped a glass of this superlative Italian red with Mario while the final selection, Filetto al Tartufo, arrived.  Eight ounces of beef filet medium rare will thrill you with the brilliant Barolo Beef Jus, joined by asparagus that elevates the plate in color and nutrition.
Audace impressed us on their first try and we look forward to seeing what they do next.

#InauguralReview #TravelersPoetsandFriends @travelerspoetsandfriends by #EmanueleNigro #OneMoreHospitality #457SixthAvenue #Manhattan

Peachy Deegan's favorite: The Cannelloni!

"Money should not be the reason why you open a business.   It should be the result."
-Founder and Owner of Osteria 57 and One Hospitality Group, Emanuele Nigro

It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and we know Emanuele Nigro Founder and Majority Owner of One More Hospitality Group and native of Milan, Italy (and click here for his hat trick, one off the ice...) ! Previously in early 2025, he earned accolades for Osteria 57, Alice, and Pamina.Today, we have found even more reasons why your stomach is glad he came to the USA in 2006!  It is more difficult today to be featured as an Italian restaurant for the first time than it ever was because chances are, over the last seventeen years we have visited what we believe are the most compelling among the Italian from Italy and Italian American venues in Manhattan, and beyond Manhattan.
There are amazing salads all over Manhattan, and the best Peachy's Picks are in Sensational Salad.  The Market Salad of Travelers Poets and Friends is commendable, with upscale greenmarket vegetables of artisan quality: fennel, carrots, radish, halved cherry tomatoes, chickpeas and they listened and put the dressing on the side for Ms. Pretty Picky as she requested it.  The vegetable talents do not end there: most incredible were the Smoked Beets!  We do not remember ever having them anywhere before and they're house-smoked in this palate-enhancing nutritious temptation, which although we make no medical claims, surmise is quite good for you.  The beets are joined by a garlic puree and toasted pistachio, which really ups the wow factor.
The brushed beet accent was also pretty!
From every angle, the Bietole All'Arrabbiata of sauteed swiss chard and spicy tomato sauce was gorgeous, and the uplifting flavor combination we believe has wide appeal. It's a selection from the Italo Garden section of the menu, and under Piccolo, meet Polpette of perfection.  The meatballs of beef and pork boast fabulous consistency and luxuriate in house-made tomato sauce and grilled bread.
This inaugural visit, we were delighted to meet and work with Executive Chef Simone Venturini, of Liguria, Italy.  Everyday pasta is made in house here, and from the Lasagna Bolognese of an ideal beef and pork composition paired with triumphant spinach dough in a favorite hue of Peachy's, they showed us they are in it to win it.  It ravishes your palate with bechamel and Parmigiano Reggiano and proves that style and talent yields quality and this is no boring run-of-the-mill lasagna.  It is much better!  Peachy's favorite however was the Cannelloni: tube-shaped pasta winning you over filled with ricotta and spinach bechamel and tomato sauce.  The flavor and quality was utterly superior and we love it.
The menu also has style and it does not say entree: it says Grande.
We love shrimp and not only because Peachy is as tall as one!
It's also because of the flavor of course, and to that end we are thrilled to introduce you to what we believe is the first shrimpburger of our life: meet the shrimp patty on a homemade black squid ink bun, charred tomatoes, frisee, and sumptuous scallion mayo.  They really hit it out of the park with delicious creativity here.  Some places that are trendy overdo their ideas and come up with items that turn our stomach that we would never tell you about and waste your time with.  This Shrimpburger deserves your time, especially if it is a Friday in Lent.
We also appreciate the nod to America with the cheeseburger on the menu. Some Europeans forget that they are in America and do not indulge American tastes.  The Travelers signature patty luxuriates on a homemade bun with provolone, caramelized onions, inventive, tasty smoked mayo and fries and was perfection.
Perfectly medium rare, cut by Peachy (who is not a chef!)
The final firework was Branzino, and if you have not read our 31,000 other posts, be aware that we do not edit pictures.  You win like Emanuele and Simone or we do not publish: that's it!  Joined by superbly sliced summer squash and a smashing salmorglio (sauce from Sicily with parsley, lemon, garlic garnish), the Branzino says don't hate me because I'm beautiful.  Eat me.

Travelers, Poets and Friends impressed us immensely on our first visit and we can't wait to see what they do next.

#InauguralReview #2DoorsPizzeria Since August 14, 2026 by #FehmiKesici and #GokhanCakmak 300 East 41 St, New York NY 10017 #MidtownEast #TudorCity #Manhattan

From the vegetable we chose and ordered to the straightforward cheese edition, 2 Doors Pizza impressed us on their first try
It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and we have not gotten to over 31,000 posts by not being in the right place at the right time!  It's no secret Peachy Deegan feels like Columbus discovering America when she discovers a new pizza place anywhere, and she was actually walking by when they opened on August 14, 2026.  Owner Fehmi Kesici was there in person then, and we were delighted to meet him and see the brand new baby pizza place, so you can consider this a restaurant birth announcement.  Fehmi owns 2 Doors pizza along with Gokhan Cakmak, whom we were in close contact with during the review.  They have other tricks up their sleeve we may tell you about in the future, and of course we know our readers are highly literate and English language enthusiasts and can make the connection between TUDOR as in Henry the eighth and Tudor City, and 2 Doors.
We worked directly in person with Manager Omur, whom they should be proud of.

The straightforward cheese pizza was exactly what we were looking for. Piping hot, it announced it was in it to win it with Grande Mozzarella and inviting sauce and a crust that was just right.  Even better was the vegetable we created (by ordering it, of course.  Peachy did not make the pizza!)
Broccoli, red and green bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, red onion and spinach teamed up and they even put fresh garlic on it at the request of the Picky One, who is of course a garlic monster (akin to the Cookie Monster).  We suggest a lot of garlic these days as we hear there is a bug going around!
All large pies here are 20 inches, which is superior to the standard 18 inch of the competition.
More pizza is better when it is good pizza!
If you are new to us, you should know we do not edit pictures.  You excel like 2 Doors Pizza or we do not publish.  Spaghetti and Meatballs of 100 percent beef hit the spot and if the Lady and the Tramp are reading, do pay attention to this hot number.  Penne alla Vodka with Grilled Chicken was our favorite pasta dish and we would agree with Omur, who told us it was his favorite.  The incredible sauce was rich and sensational.
Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Chicken was another dish we'd recommend and across the board everything was a solid performance and completely fresh.  We liked the cleanliness we saw everywhere too, including the bathrooms.  Of course, this is our first visit as the title tells you: Inaugural Review.
The House Salad was exactly what we were looking for with all the usual vegetable suspects you see included in our above pizza, and they listened and put the dressing on the side as we requested, and added the protein option of breaded chicken, which was well-cut and fresh.
There are around 50 seats here, all inside.
The Caesar was just right and de rigueur for a neighborhood pizza spot.  They added grilled chicken at our request and these two types of chicken additions to salad are the two protein options.  We would love to see them do more salads with even more protein options...and of course protein has been hot and trendy and fiber is now too.
Some pizza places have limited menus.
Not here.
Not only did we extensively look at the pizza area menu but also they said: PEACHY!  WE DO EVEN MORE WITH OUR ALL DAY BREAKFAST!
We love ambition.
So, to that end, above meet the Avocado Turkey Wrap with Roasted Turkey, Sliced Avocado, Arugula, Mozzarella and Tomato, which we adored and is ideal for on the go.
We are quite big fans of eggs, and you'll discover pasture-raised eggs luxuriating on a croissant in omelette form with melted mozzarella, ripe tomatoes and mixed greens.
Say enchante to the French croissant!
See, we got a little French in here.
Omur said the Avocado Toast was great with its sourdough and it's among the best we've had of this dish.
If you are not in the mood for pizza and want something more individual, the chicken roll and the vegetable calzone selections are equally commendable.

2 Doors Pizzeria impressed us on their first try and we can't wait to see what they do next.
