Jewelry Trunkshows from the French Trade Commission!

Ooooh we love to rock our body francais!  Peachy Deegan just loves Boston, and used to live on the corner of Newbury...looks like the French Trade Commission is headed there as well as Texas!  They tell us:

This autumn the French Trade Commission-UBIFRANCE is thrilled to premier the traveling trunkshow and exhibition open to the public and trade at high-end jewelry destinations:

deBoulle Fine Jewelry, 6821 Preston Road, Dallas, TX, from Thursday, September 30th to Saturday, October 2nd – 214 522 2400 - from 10 am to 6 pm;

Dorfman Jewelers, 24 Newbury Street, Boston, Massachusetts from Tuesday October 5th to Thursday, October 7th 2010 – 617 536 2022 – from 11 am to 6 pm.

Eleven collections showing the brilliance of French jewelry including Marchak, who found fame in the US during the early 1930s and is re-launching their brand with exquisite cocktail rings; Edéenne, one of the most talented designers in the new generation of French jewelers and is currently developing her brand internationally at a fast pace (She will be exhibiting in June 2011 at the Museum of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco); and Mathon, founded 30 years ago in the Palais Royal neighborhood – the birthplace of the finest French jewelry houses and currently sold at 3 Neiman Marcus stores including Orlando, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Newport Beach, CA.

Each jewelry boutique will host 3 evening special events each (by invitation only):

-          Events at deBoulle :
o   A Citroen car show during a “Vernissage” Opening on Thursday, September 30th  (car show at 7:00pm) – the cars will remain on exhibit in front of deBoulle’s during the entire time of the exhibit;

o   A “Relais and Chateaux” Grand Cru Wines Tasting on Friday, October 1st  accompanied by a selection of hors d’oeuvres from Hotel Saint Germain, Dallas.

o   A “Strawberry and Champagne” on Saturday, October 2nd afternoon. 


All events are from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. “Strawberry and Champagne” from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

-          Events at Dorfman:
o   A presentation of the history of French jewelry by Yvonne Markowitz, the distinguished jewelry curator of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston illustrated by Van Cleef & Arpels Estate Jewelry presented by Nicolas Luchsinger, Estate Jewelry Manager of Van Cleef & Arpels on Tuesday,October 5thfrom 5 to 6 pm.  Immediately followed at 6 pm, a grand “Vernissage” Opening, with the presence of Consul General de France in Boston, Monsieur Christophe Guilhou.

o   A Chef tasting by “Relais & Châteaux” on Wednesday, October 6th with the cuisine of Chef Jonathan Cambra of Castle Hill Inn, Newport.

o   A Grand Cru wine tasting on Thursday, October 7th

Trunk shows are a fantastic opportunity to see shoe samples first hand and ask questions directly to the manufacturer. Dean will be happy to answer your footwear questions, and we will be happy to offer suggestions, and guidance.
In case you haven’t been to a trunk show before it works like this. G&G will have “Sample”, shoes of which you can choose the leather, color, last, soles and perhaps a few minor changes i.e. adding a medallion to a plain toe shoe for instance. Trunk shows are a lot of fun and provide an excellent opportunity to view many styles first hand as opposed to looking at them on line or in a catalog.

LEFFOT HOLDS TWO FIRSTS EPHTEE TRUNKS AND EDWARD GREEN “TOP DRAWER” COLLECTION SEPTEMBER 10

On the evening of Thursday, September 10th, Leffot, the men’s shoe store that has put the “haute” in the American man’s way of shopping, will be holding a trunk show for Ephtée Trunks, at their store on Christopher Street. The collection consists of the Ephtée signature trunks that are made to hold a man’s collection of shoes when traveling and also polishing caskets filled with the finest products for maintenance – everything but the butler. The trunks are hand-made in France of the finest woods in an assortment of colors, trimmed in leathers and brass. As the trunks are all made-to-order, the combinations are limitless.

Edward Green is known for their distinctive shoes, whether made-to-order or ready-to-wear. This will be first time that Edward Green will be introducing their “top drawer” collection of men’s shoes. There will also be a small selection of women’s shoes.

Leffot, known for their exciting and refined selection of ready-to-wear, made-to-order and bespoke collections of the finest men’s shoes, has been opened at 10 Christopher Street, since May 2008. The store has become the go-to mecca for beautifully crafted and fashion forward shoes. Leffot will be participating in “Fashions Night Out.”

We cordially invite you to join us for the Edward Green "Spring 2009 Trunk Show" Saturday May 16th at Leffot from 11a.m-6p.m. Robert Godley of Edward Green and Steven Taffel of Leffot will be present and will happily assist you in creating the shoes of your dreams.

You will have the choice of shoe models, lasts, leathers, colors, and soles. Your one of a kind Made-To-Order shoes will arrive in approximately 14 weeks, and as a special courtesy the normal single pair charge of $100 will be waived for all orders placed on the day of the show.

Our last show was tremendously popular among EG lovers. We anticipate the largest selection of samples ever assembled at a single Edward Green show in North America. If you love EG shoes and we know how many of you do, you won't want to miss this event.
