Elite golfer and Skechers athlete Matt Fitzpatrick achieved victory by three strokes at the FedEx Open de France Sunday, September 27 at Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. This past weekend’s win adds another prestigious trophy to his remarkable career, which includes 11 DP World Tour titles.

“It feels incredible to secure another win and to keep this momentum going through the season,” said Matt Fitzpatrick, who competes in Skechers Blade GF golf shoes and Skechers Performance apparel. “Skechers has been an incredible partner these last few years, always listening to my feedback and refining the designs. When I step onto the course, I’m completely comfortable and confident in my footwear, and that makes a huge difference. Four wins this year speaks for itself—I’m feeling amazing out there in Skechers.”

“Matt Fitzpatrick continues to raise his standard every time he tees up, and four worldwide wins this year demonstrate both his extraordinary talent and the performance of Skechers on golf’s biggest stages,” said Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers. “When an elite athlete trusts Skechers under the highest level of competition, it is a powerful validation that Skechers is not only changing the experience of golf footwear; we are building products designed to win.”

After a successful amateur career, Fitzpatrick turned pro at the age of 19. The English native earned his first professional victory in 2015 at the British Masters at Woburn Golf Club. The following year, he was selected for the Ryder Cup European team and went on to win the 2016 DP World Tour Championship. Since his professional debut, Fitzpatrick has achieved 11 wins on the DP World Tour, with his latest coming this weekend at the FedEx Open de France. He also played a key role in the 2025 Ryder Cup, contributing to Team Europe's success. With four worldwide wins already secured this season, Fitzpatrick continues to be one of the most dominant forces in professional golf.

In 2022, Fitzpatrick joined the roster of Skechers Golf pros that now includes Brooke Henderson, Bernhard Langer, and Max Greyserman—all wearing Skechers Golf footwear on tour.

Known for its lightweight, high-quality, stable, and comfortable designs, Skechers Golf has achieved prominence within the golf category with its award-winning collection. Select styles include signature innovations such as Skechers Hands Free Slip-ins®, Skechers Arch Fit®, and Hyper Burst Pro® cushioning. Beyond golf, Skechers brings the same focus on comfort, innovation, and performance to athletes at every level across running, basketball, soccer, pickleball/padel and cricket.

Skechers Golf footwear is available at Skechers retail stores, skechers.com, and select retail partners, including specialty golf pro shops.

#ChampagneWishes #FrancePeachy CHÂTEAU MARGAUX ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF AURÉLIEN VALANCE AS MANAGING DIRECTOR

After thirty years dedicated to Château Margaux, Philippe Bascaules will retire and step down as Managing Director at the end of 2026. Aurélien Valance, currently Deputy Managing Director, Sales and Operations, will succeed him as of 1 December 2026. This transition reflects a spirit of continuity and knowledge transfer, supported by an experienced and longstanding team committed to the estate.

Philippe Bascaules: 30 years dedicated to Château Margaux

An agricultural engineer, Philippe Bascaules joined Château Margaux in 1990 as Director of Operations. He held this position until 2011, before spending five years at the helm of a prestigious vineyard in Napa Valley. In March 2017, he returned to Château Margaux, this time as Managing Director.

Throughout these years, his experience and deep knowledge of the estate have been invaluable in ensuring its long-term continuity. From December 2026, Philippe Bascaules will hand over his responsibilities as Managing Director of the estate to Aurélien Valance. He will, however, continue to support the estate as a consultant on specific assignments during key technical periods, including the harvest, winemaking and blending, alongside Éric Boissenot, Château Margaux's consulting oenologist for the past 35 years. The estate will therefore continue to benefit from his experience and intimate knowledge of the vineyard.

"Philippe has devoted the greater part of his professional life to Château Margaux, and I would like to express our deepest gratitude to him for his commitment, his availability and the high standards with which he has always served the estate. Beyond his expertise and exceptional knowledge of the property, I would also like to recognise his outstanding human qualities." Alexis Leven-Mentzelopoulos, Co-owner and CEO of Château Margaux

The future through continuity

The appointment of Aurélien Valance as Managing Director naturally reflects this commitment to continuity and the transmission of knowledge.

His history with Château Margaux began in 2001, when he first joined the estate as an intern. Following his studies at HEC Paris and experience in New York working in wine importing, he returned to the estate in January 2006 as Commercial Director. In 2016, he was appointed Deputy Managing Director, Sales and Operations. The following year, he won the title of French Blind Tasting Champion.

Twenty years after first joining the estate, Aurélien Valance has an intimate knowledge of its history, wines, teams and markets. His appointment therefore continues a career built within Château Margaux itself and reflects the confidence placed in those who have supported the estate over the long term.

"Aurélien has known Château Margaux for twenty years and shares its culture, high standards and values at a profound level. His appointment is a natural continuation of our history," says Alexis Leven-Mentzelopoulos.

This continuity is also underpinned by an experienced technical team. Having joined the estate on 6 May 2026, Benjamin Vimal serves as Technical and Operations Director and oversees all technical operations, from the vineyard through to bottling. Alongside him, Blandine de Rouffignac, who has been with Château Margaux since 2018 and is now Director of Research & Development, leads the estate's experimental programmes, enabling it to anticipate future challenges and support the evolution of its practices.

This complementarity between technical expertise and research reflects Château Margaux's commitment to preparing for the future while preserving the identity of its terroir and wines over the long term.

"I would like to thank Alexis Leven-Mentzelopoulos for the trust he has placed in me. It is a great honour to take on the role of Managing Director of Château Margaux, an estate I have known for twenty years and to which I feel deeply attached. I approach this responsibility with great humility, but also with the strength of an experienced and committed team. I wish to continue the work carried out with Philippe and with all those who bring the estate to life every day. Together with Benjamin Vimal and Blandine de Rouffignac, we can draw on complementary areas of expertise and a deep knowledge of Château Margaux. Our collective responsibility is to preserve what makes it unique, while continuing to prepare for its future with the highest standards of excellence."
Aurélien Valance, Managing Director of Château Margaux

#CulinaryCourant Escoffier Announces Partnership With Les Roches to Expand International Academic Footprint

Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts announced a new partnership with Les Roches Global Hospitality Education that creates scholarship-supported pathways for qualified students and recent graduates to pursue bachelor's degrees in Switzerland or Spain.

The agreement expands Escoffier's international academic footprint at a time when hospitality education is increasingly tied to a global workforce and the need for cross-cultural skills. Research from NAFSA: Association of International Educators shows employers value abilities developed through international education, including adaptability and intercultural competence. A recent national survey by the Forum on Education Abroad found that 90% of more than 8,800 study-abroad participants said the experience helped their careers, and many reported gaining skills like adaptability, communication and intercultural awareness that played a key role in their professional growth.

Escoffier graduates admitted to bachelor's programs at the Les Roches campuses in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, or Marbella, Spain, may be eligible for additional scholarships offered at either campus.

Under the pathway, Escoffier Culinary Arts diploma or associate degree students enter the second year of Les Roches bachelor's degree program. Details on pathways and scholarship requirements are available at https://www.escoffier.edu/study-abroad/.

Founded in Switzerland in 1954, Les Roches ranks No. 2 worldwide for Hospitality & Leisure Management in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026.

"Our responsibility is to prepare students who combine technical excellence with global fluency and an enduring mindset of lifelong learning," said Kirk T. Bachmann, provost and president, Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts Boulder campus. "That means understanding sourcing, sustainability and cultural context as core competencies in today's hospitality industry. This partnership strengthens our expanding international presence and provides graduates a direct pathway to advanced study in globally recognized programs where culinary craft intersects with business strategy and leadership."

"This collaboration reflects the growing convergence between culinary arts, hospitality management and the experience economy," said Carlos Díez de la Lastra, CEO of Les Roches. "By connecting Escoffier's culinary excellence with Les Roches' expertise in hospitality leadership and business education, we are creating new pathways for students to develop international, managerial and entrepreneurial skills increasingly sought across luxury hospitality, tourism and the wider experience economy."

Students admitted through the pathway will have the opportunity to study at Les Roches' campus in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, or at its Marbella campus in Spain, gaining exposure to multicultural learning environments, applied hospitality education and a global network of industry partners. Both campuses combine academic study with professional training aligned with contemporary hospitality operations.

The partnership builds on Escoffier's growing international presence, including its academic collaboration with École Ducasse in France.

TVA Sports to broadcast up to 350 regular-season NHL games; Montréal Canadiens: 32 regular-season games and exclusive rights to Stanley Cup Playoffs games in French

Rogers Communications and Quebecor today announced a new 12-year sublicensing agreement for French-language national NHL games, beginning with the 2026-27 season. As an official French-language NHL broadcaster, TVA Sports and TVA Sports Direct will distribute all games covered by the new agreement, with the illico+ platform joining the broadcast ecosystem.

Starting with the 2026-27 season, Quebecor will hold the French broadcasting rights for up to 350 regular season NHL games per season, including 32 Montréal Canadiens regular-season games and all Montréal Canadiens games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This includes 10 more regular-season Montréal games than under the previous agreement; six of the eight First Round series of the Stanley Cup Playoffs; three of the four Second Round series; the Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Final; and all NHL tentpole events.

"Quebecor's executive leadership and Board of Directors are proud to carry on a long-standing tradition that brings together French-speaking Canadians around the NHL and the Montréal Canadiens," said Pierre Karl Péladeau, President and Chief Executive Officer of Quebecor, also thanking the League and Rogers for recognizing what we have been building together since 2014. "Premium sports content, such as NHL hockey and Montréal Canadiens games, remains a unique driver for rallying audiences in real time. We consider ourselves fortunate to be a partner in our national sport and to offer French-speaking Canadians even more Habs games on our local platforms. We are also grateful for the close collaboration of the Montréal Canadiens organization.”

"For Rogers, ensuring hockey fans have comprehensive French-language coverage of NHL games is a top priority,” said Tony Staffieri, President and CEO, Rogers. “We have had a terrific partnership with TVA Sports for many years, and we look forward to continuing to work together to deliver more NHL games to more French-speaking Quebecers and Canadians.”

“For the past 12 seasons, TVA Sports’ French-language broadcasts have connected our game with millions of passionate hockey fans across Quebec and Canada,” said Gary Bettman, Commissioner, NHL. “Our expanded partnership with Rogers and Quebecor reflects our shared commitment to serving fans, growing the game, and ensuring that hockey’s biggest moments are available to all audiences.”

Last year, Rogers and the NHL announced a 12-year agreement for the national media rights to NHL games on all platforms in Canada, from the 2026-27 through the 2037-38 seasons.

#FrancePeachy France Becomes First Official Participant at Expo 2030 Riyadh

France is the first country to officially sign its Participation Contract for Expo 2030 Riyadh, a major milestone in its preparations and growing international momentum. The signing took place on the sidelines of the visit to France by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The agreement formally establishes France’s participation in Expo 2030 Riyadh, providing the framework for its presence throughout the six-month event. It specifies the location and space allocated to the France Pavilion, outlines the Pavilion's theme, and sets out the broad lines of the experience offered to visitors and businesses.

The ceremony in Paris was attended by H.H. Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the BIE. The Participation Contract was signed by Talal Al-Marri, Chief Executive Officer of Expo 2030 Riyadh, and Jacques Maire, Chairman of the Compagnie Française des Expositions (COFREX).

Commenting on the milestone, Talal Al-Marri, Chief Executive Officer of Expo 2030 Riyadh, said: “France becoming the first country to sign its Participation Contract is an important milestone for Expo 2030 Riyadh and a strong demonstration of the momentum behind international participation. France brings a rich history of engagement with World Expos, together with deep expertise across culture, innovation and the creation of compelling visitor experiences. We look forward to working closely with France and COFREX as their plans take shape and to seeing the ambition they bring to Riyadh in 2030. This milestone brings us another step closer to delivering an extraordinary World Expo that will bring the world together at an unprecedented scale in 2030.”

Jacques Maire, Chairman of COFREX, said: “Expo 2030 Riyadh provides an exceptional platform to showcase French creativity, innovation and know-how with audiences from around the world. We are grateful to Expo Riyadh for offering France an exceptional space, both in its location and its scale. Located within the ‘Planet’ district, the Pavilion’s theme is ‘Under One Sky.’ Built around the four elements — sky, earth, fire and water — it has a dual ambition: to offer the public an immersive and meaningful experience, and to allow our businesses to demonstrate their capabilities, particularly in service of protecting the planet and the ecological transition. We will play our part in Expo’s ambition to foster new opportunities for exchange, collaboration and dialogue. We are proud to be part of this global gathering and look forward to contributing fully to its success in Riyadh in 2030.”

The milestone builds on a period of continued progress for Expo 2030 Riyadh, from the recent signing of the See Agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) to ongoing site development and operational preparations.

Expo 2030 Riyadh will take place from 1 October 2030 to 31 March 2031 under the theme “Foresight for Tomorrow.” The six-month event is expected to bring together more than 200 official participants and welcome 42 million visits. Through national pavilions, cultural programming, innovation and immersive experiences, Expo 2030 Riyadh will provide a global platform for countries and organisations to exchange ideas, build partnerships and explore solutions to shared challenges. Following the event, the site is planned to evolve into a permanent global village, creating a lasting legacy for Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the world.

About Expo 2030 Riyadh

Running from 1 October 2030 to 31 March 2031, Expo 2030 Riyadh will be among the most ambitious World Expos ever conceived with a 6 million square meter site that will bring together more than 200 official participants and 42 million visits across 5 distinct districts.

Held under the theme “Foresight for Tomorrow,” and hosted in Riyadh - a city of action and ambition - Expo 2030 Riyadh will provide a platform for participants to exchange ideas, shape solutions, and build partnerships that drive real impact, address global challenges, and unlock new opportunities. The World Expo will feature immersive cultural zones, daily activations, and AI-powered interactions, blending traditional Saudi hospitality with cutting-edge technology. Following the six-month event, the site will evolve into a global village, leaving a lasting legacy for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the world.

#BigAppleBusiness #FrancePeachy French-American Entrepreneurship Award 2026 Celebrates 3 French Startups Shaping the Future of Their Industries

Zenyt.ai, Dumbo Health, and Glanceable recognized for innovation, US market potential, and French-American entrepreneurial ambition

The French-American Entrepreneurship Award (FAEA) announced the winners of its 17th edition during a ceremony held on June 2, 2026, at the Consulate General of France in New York, under the patronage of Cédrik Fouriscot, Consul General of France in New York.

Created in 2008, the FAEA supports French entrepreneurs building or expanding their businesses in the US. This year’s winners were selected for the strength of their innovation, the clarity of their US market opportunity, and their potential to scale across industries being reshaped by technology, AI, healthcare innovation, and new customer expectations.

The 2026 FAEA winners are:

Zenyt.ai - First Prize & Audience Award
Zenyt.ai helps e-commerce brands optimize operations and revenue through AI-powered quality assurance automation and decision-making tools. “Winning the FAEA is a powerful validation of our mission and of the opportunity we see in the US. We believe AI agents can become a new operating layer for digital commerce, helping brands move faster, reduce friction, and deliver better customer experiences at scale,” said Arthur Pentecoste, CEO & Co-Founder.

Dumbo Health - Second Prize
Dumbo Health is transforming sleep apnea care through a digital platform that simplifies diagnosis, treatment, and long-term patient management. “Sleep apnea affects millions of people, yet too many patients still face a fragmented and intimidating care journey. Dumbo Health was built to make care simpler, more accessible, and more human, and the FAEA is especially meaningful as we build in the US,” said Nico Nemeth, Co-Founder.

Glanceable - Third Prize
Glanceable helps companies turn customer feedback into prioritized, actionable insights through an AI-native Voice of Customer platform. "Companies are surrounded by customer feedback, but the signals that matter stay buried across surveys, reviews, tickets, and conversations. The FAEA is an important milestone as we expand in the US and help companies put the voice of the customer at the center of their decisions," said Charles Dognin, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer.

The Audience Award, voted on by attendees and livestream viewers during the ceremony, was also presented to Zenyt.ai, recognizing the strong enthusiasm generated by its innovative approach to AI-powered e-commerce optimization.

“The 2026 winners reflect exactly what the FAEA was created to support: French entrepreneurs with bold ideas, global ambition, and a clear desire to build bridges between France and the United States,” said Guillaume Bouvard, FAEA Co-President. “From e-commerce and healthcare to customer intelligence, Zenyt.ai, Dumbo Health, and Glanceable are addressing large market opportunities with technology, focus, and entrepreneurial conviction,” added Sylvain Ardiet, FAEA Co-President.

The FAEA has become a key platform for French founders looking to establish or accelerate their presence in the US. Each year, the event brings together entrepreneurs, investors, corporate leaders, institutional partners, and key players from the French-American business community.

The 2026 FAEA was made possible thanks to the generous support of its sponsors, whose commitment helps advance French-American entrepreneurship in the US.

Platinum Sponsor: Jade Fiducial

Gold Sponsors: Corporate Suites and French Founders

Silver Sponsors: CareExpat, Air France, Banque Transatlantique, Comexposium, Pitco Foods, Pressario, Saint James, Tarter Krinsky & Drogin LLP, and Transmark Partners

#PeachyinSpace #FrancePeachy France Signs Historic Two-Mission Agreement with Vast to the International Space Station and Haven-1, Scheduled to be the World’s First Commercial Space Station

Today at the Choose France Summit, created by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, Vast announced its commitment to establish its European headquarters in Paris and an agreement with the Government of France, for two missions involving two French astronauts: the sixth private astronaut mission to the International Space Station and the Haven-1 test flight, the first crewed mission to Vast’s Haven-1 commercial space station scheduled to launch in 2027.

For France, this agreement ensures the country can continue its low-Earth orbit missions, building upon its prior experience of training for and participating in operational manned space missions.

Subject to the International Space Station’s Multilateral Crew Operations Panel (MCOP) review and approval, ESA Astronaut Thomas Pesquet will serve as Commander for Vast’s private astronaut mission to the International Space Station in partnership with NASA. The MCOP’s decisions are reached through a consensus among representatives from all five Space Station partners: NASA, ESA, Roscosmos, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, and the Canadian Space Agency.

ESA Reserve Astronaut Arnaud Prost is intended to serve as a flight test engineer on the first crewed mission and flight acceptance test for Haven-1, scheduled to be the world’s first commercial space station.

Both missions are expected to last approximately two weeks and are planned for 2027, with transportation provided by SpaceX on a Dragon spacecraft launched aboard a Falcon 9 rocket.

More details for the French missions will be shared during the International Space Summit announced by French President Emmanuel Macron, which will be held on September 9 and 10 in Paris.

Thomas Pesquet began his career as a satellite dynamics engineer at Thales Alenia Space, at GMV, then quickly joined CNES, before becoming an airline pilot for Air France in 2006. Selected by ESA in 2009, he joined the astronaut corps after a rigorous selection. He became the 10th French astronaut in space in 2016 for the Proxima mission, during which he spent 197 days aboard the International Space Station, performed two spacewalks, and participated in more than 50 scientific experiments.

In 2021, he launched aboard SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft as part of NASA’s Crew-2 mission and his second mission to the International Space Station, Alpha, and became the first French astronaut to command the orbiting laboratory. Four spacewalks and 200 more days later, he now holds the European record for days in space and time spent spacewalking. In parallel to his astronaut role in ESA, Thomas Pesquet flies in the Air and Space Force, and as a test pilot at Airbus; he has become CEO of Novespace.

Arnaud Prost is a French flight test engineer, military pilot, reserve astronaut and professional diver who graduated from École Polytechnique. After working as a test diver for COMEX on an underwater training spacesuit, he graduated as a fighter pilot in the French Air and Space Force. From 2020, he worked at the DGA Flight Test Centre in Istres on the RAFALE fighter jet, focusing on air-to-air combat, human–machine interfaces and Higher Airspace Operations. Since 2023, he has served as an operational pilot and aircraft commander of the E-3F AWACS for the 36th Airborne Command and Control Wing. In parallel, Prost was selected in November 2022 in the European Space Agency Astronaut Reserve. In 2024 and 2025, he completed ESA’s PANGAEA geology training for Lunar and Martian exploration. In May 2026, he finished his basic astronaut reserve training.

Both missions will focus on scientific research, technology demonstrations, and educational outreach activities, including experiments from French industry and academic institutions, all activities during which CNES, the French space agency, will put its expertise of more than 40 years of manned spaceflight to use.

In selecting Vast for these historic missions, France is paving the way for a sustained human presence in space while strengthening transatlantic partnerships and expanding opportunities for innovation, discovery, and exploration aboard the International Space Station and Haven-1.

Additional crew members for both missions will be announced at a later date and are expected to include professional astronauts from sovereign countries with diplomatic ties to France.

“We thank France, but also CNES and ESA and NASA for their partnership and leadership in advancing human spaceflight,” said Max Haot, Vast CEO. “This agreement reinforces Vast’s commitment to launch and operate the world’s first commercial space station. We are honored that France selected Vast for these historic missions.”

Haven-1 is currently in integration at Vast’s headquarters in Long Beach, California in preparation for scheduled launch in 2027. After launch, the first Haven-1 crew is expected to fly to the station within a few weeks.

Vast's private astronaut mission to the International Space Station will launch no earlier than the summer of 2027.

About Vast

Vast is developing next-generation space stations and space infrastructure using an incremental, hardware-rich, and low-cost approach. Vast is rapidly developing its multi-module Haven Station to ensure a continuous human presence in space for America and its allies, enabling advanced microgravity research and manufacturing, and unlocking a new space economy for government, corporate, and private customers. Haven Demo’s 2025 success made Vast the only operational commercial space station company to fly and operate its own spacecraft. Next, Haven-1 is expected to become the world’s first commercial space station when it launches in 2027, followed by additional Haven modules. Additionally, the company recently announced Vast Satellite, a high-power satellite product line leveraging its space station components and the heritage of Haven Demo.

Headquartered in Long Beach, California, and with more than 1,000 employees and over a billion dollars in private capital, Vast has built the facilities required to manufacture and operate America’s next space station. The company plans to develop future habitats and systems for the Moon and Mars, dedicated space stations for government partners, and other crewed systems that will unlock the expanding long-term space economy.

About CNES

For over 40 years, thanks to CNES and its partners, France has acquired internationally recognized expertise in the field of human spaceflight. In particular, Cadmos (Center for Assistance in the Development of Microgravity Activities and Space Operations) provides an excellent resource for the logistics and operational support of scientific experiments in microgravity.

Engaged in exploration programs via ESA aboard the ISS, CNES is now leveraging this expertise for a broader ecosystem, including private sector players, to facilitate market access for innovative companies.

#GraciousGalleries #FrancePeachy Artprice News: The Lyon Biennale 2026 redefines the driving forces of international contemporary art

In autumn 2026, in the wake of the Venice Biennale, the Lyon Biennale of Contemporary Art establishes itself as one of the major events on the international artistic calendar.

As France's leading contemporary art event, each edition brings together nearly 300,000 visitors and generates more than 2.7 million encounters with artworks in public space, affirming a unique model in which artistic production, dissemination, territorial engagement and international reach converge on a large scale.

More than an exhibition, the Lyon Biennale now constitutes an international platform of influence, situated at the intersection of artistic scenes, institutions, collectors, foundations, professionals and global economic dynamics.

Passer d'un rêve à l'autre / To pass from one dream to another
Lyon, France | September 19 – December 13, 2026

After Venice, Lyon: a new centre of gravity for the global art scene

The 18th Lyon Biennale of Contemporary Art will take place at the heart of autumn 2026, at a strategic moment within the international contemporary art calendar. It extends, shifts and reactivates the major artistic conversations initiated in Venice, grounding them within a singular territory: Lyon, a city of passages, exchanges and transformations.

Within this urban, historical and economic geography, the Biennale transforms Lyon into a full-scale space for experimentation, where artworks engage in dialogue with heritage, industrial, museum and public sites.

Catherine Nichols: an international curatorial voice on the rise

The 18th edition is entrusted to Catherine Nichols, a Berlin-based curator, writer and art historian. She was recently appointed Artistic Director of Manifesta, within the framework of a new co-directorship model that will come into effect from October 2026 onward.

With Passer d'un rêve à l'autre, Catherine Nichols develops an ambitious project centred on the notion of "poetic economy," inspired by Robert Filliou. Here, the economy is not approached merely as a financial system: it becomes a sensitive infrastructure composed of relationships, flows, narratives, visible and invisible labour, and material as well as immaterial values.

Rooted in Lyon's history — a city shaped by commerce, circulation, silk production, industry and confluences — this reflection takes on both a local and profoundly global dimension.

An expanded artistic cartography: new scenes, new narratives

Bringing together more than 70 international artists, this edition is distinguished by a strong openness toward artistic scenes still insufficiently represented in Europe, particularly from Australia and New Zealand, and spanning more than thirty nationalities. These territories engage in dialogue with the French and European scenes within a framework that brings together major figures, established artists and emerging voices.

The Biennale thus constructs an expanded artistic cartography in which questions of value, care, heritage, production and transformation run across practices, generations and geographies.

An international platform for production and influence

The Lyon Biennale is simultaneously a site for the production of new works, an international professional hub and a space for reflection on contemporary transformations. It is embedded within a global network, notably through the International Biennial Association, and each edition welcomes artists, curators, institutions, foundations, partners and art market actors.

Through its artistic projects, professional programmes, international collaborations, mediation initiatives and participatory projects, the Lyon Biennale asserts a singular model: a leading event open to the widest possible audience and fully engaged with the issues of its time.

About the Lyon Biennale

For more than forty years, the Lyon Biennale has organised two major events on the cultural scene in France and internationally: the Biennale of Contemporary Art and the Dance Biennale.

As the institution responsible for the conception, programming and implementation of these two events, the Lyon Biennale is today recognised as one of the major international events dedicated to contemporary creation. It enjoys strong recognition among professionals, the press and audiences alike.

Its commitment is based on four core missions: an ethical mission, through the development of a sensitive relationship to the world via visual arts and dance; a social mission, through openness to all audiences and the creation of social bonds; an economic mission, through its contribution to the visibility and attractiveness of the territory; and a CSR mission, through a socially responsible approach toward all its stakeholders.

Creativity, excellence, rigour, solidarity, social diversity and inclusivity lie at the heart of the Lyon Biennale project.

The 2026 Lyon Biennale embodies a unique model and has established itself as a must-attend event on the international scene. Twenty-six years after their first collaboration, Artprice by Artmarket and La Demeure du Chaos are partnering with the 18th Lyon Biennale.

A must-attend event on the international Art calendar, the Lyon Biennale has established itself, following in Venice's footsteps, as much more than an exhibition: a platform of influence where artists, institutions, collectors, foundations, and key players in the global Art Market converge.

Twenty-six years after "Partage d'Exotisme"- the legendary 2000 Biennial curated by Jean-Hubert Martin, which served as a follow-up to his famous 1989 exhibition "Les Magiciens de la Terre" at the Centre Georges Pompidou and caused a sensation in the West. This Biennial brought together Artprice by Artmarket and La Demeure du Chaos as patrons for the first time. In 2026, they will once again join the Lyon Contemporary Art Biennial as committed partners for its 18th edition.

Thierry Ehrmann, founder of Artprice, president of Artmarket, and visual artist for over four decades, creator of La Demeure du Chaos - officially recognized on March 20, 2025 as a "Total Work of Art" by Minister of Culture Rachida Dati, applauds the significance of this Biennale of Contemporary Art, which engages with the geographical and economic characteristics of the city of Lyon.

It is in this spirit that the two entities are joining forces to support the work of Selma Selman, an artist who employs performance, painting, photography, and video to embody the struggles of her community, questioning the value of labor, objects, and bodies. She extracts the hidden poetry from industrial materials - and reminds us that beauty, too, is born of Chaos.
