#PeachyAhoy Monaco Yacht Show Brings its World of Yachting to Saudi Arabia with The Red Sea Yacht Show

The Monaco Yacht Show is taking its vision for yachting beyond Monaco and to the Red Sea. The Red Sea Yacht Show will make its debut in Jeddah from 14 to 17 October 2027, bringing the international yachting community together in one of the world’s most compelling emerging luxury destinations.

For more than three decades, the Monaco Yacht Show has been a defining meeting place for superyacht owners, builders, brokers and designers. Its decision to bring its expertise, creative vision and international relationships to Saudi Arabia marks an exceptional moment for the industry and a powerful statement of confidence in the future of yachting on the Red Sea.

Today, during the Monaco Yacht Show, Tahaluf and Sela signed an agreement to develop and deliver the inaugural event at Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina. The signing was attended by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco. It followed the Red Sea Yacht Show’s official launch celebration in Monaco on Wednesday, 23 September.

The new show will draw on the Monaco Yacht Show’s standing and industry knowledge while establishing an identity of its own. Set against the Red Sea, it will bring together an exceptional selection of superyachts, tenders and dayboats with the worlds that surround yacht ownership: fine jewellery, collectible art, luxury automobiles, exceptional design and cuisine from Michelin starred chefs.

The Red Sea Yacht Show will create a carefully composed experience across the marina and beyond it. Yacht viewings and industry meetings will sit alongside private receptions, dining and encounters with the destination.

Mike Champion, CEO of Tahaluf, said: “Monaco Yacht Show has earned an extraordinary place in the yachting world. For it to look beyond Monaco and choose Saudi Arabia for this next chapter says a great deal about the opportunity it sees in the Red Sea. We are bringing that international authority together with Saudi creativity and hospitality to build a show worthy of the yachts, the destination and the people who will gather there.”

Eng. Amer Hussain Daggag, Destinations General Manager at Sela, said: “Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina provides an exceptional setting for this new show. Working with Tahaluf and drawing on the Monaco Yacht Show’s expertise, we have an opportunity to welcome the global yachting community to Jeddah and introduce visitors to the experiences that make the Red Sea so distinctive. Sela looks forward to creating an occasion that reflects the quality of the destination and the ambition of Saudi Arabia’s marine tourism sector.”

The October dates place the show at a natural point in the international yachting calendar, as the Mediterranean season draws to a close and attention turns towards winter destinations. The Red Sea offers a striking setting for that next journey, with Jeddah as its historic gateway and a growing network of destinations along its coast.

The performance brand brings its legacy in exploration to the open ocean, outfitting McGregor and his crew on their journey across the Atlantic Ocean

Canada Goose is charting a course on the open ocean as the Official Protective Gear Partner of TRUE WIND, a documentary series following Ewan McGregor and his childhood friend and expedition partner, Eric Strickland, on an unsupported transatlantic sailing expedition — directed by David Alexanian. Working alongside them, the brand has curated an integrated protective gear system curated to perform in whatever conditions the Atlantic brings across thousands of miles at sea.

Built on a shared pursuit of exploration, endurance and performance, the partnership takes the brand’s heritage of protecting people in the harshest conditions, from bitter cold to wind and rain, out to sea. At the heart of the voyage is the Sea Mantra, engineered over six years specifically for extreme wet weather environments.

“Canada Goose is built on the belief that the right protection gives people the freedom to go further. For nearly seven decades, we’ve learned from some of the most demanding environments on Earth, and TRUE WIND gives us the opportunity to put that expertise to the test on an extraordinary journey. The open Atlantic Ocean presents a different kind of extreme — relentless, unpredictable and constantly changing — and that is exactly where Canada Goose belongs,” said Carrie Baker, President, Brand & Commercial, Canada Goose.

“I always thought that being on a small boat in the middle of a huge ocean must be very close to experiencing real adventure, at a time when adventure is harder and harder to find. I’ve never been far offshore before, and my friends and I will have to be self-sufficient and ready to cope with whatever the weather, the sea and the boat throw our way,” said Ewan McGregor. “The extreme measures Canada Goose goes through to test and perfect their gear is extraordinary and we are lucky and happy to be wearing it. We’re so excited to team up for this journey. See you in Brazil!”

McGregor and Strickland departed Oban, Scotland, at the end of August and are set to arrive in Brazil later this fall. TRUE WIND, produced in partnership with Elixir Films and Lief Entertainment Company, will document their journey across the Atlantic. The partnership marks the first chapter of a broader story, with more from the expedition to be revealed in the months ahead. Further details, including product and programming, will be announced in due course.

For one day only, the Snapple Island Ferry will transform a familiar commuter vessel into a free, floating comedy club for New Yorkers who just need a break

On Sept. 17, Snapple will turn Pete Davidson and Colin Jost's famously random John F. Kennedy Staten Island Ferry purchase into the Snapple Island Ferry, a one-day-only, free comedy club built to give New Yorkers an unexpectedly refreshing break from the daily grind.
Snapple Turns Pete Davidson and Colin Jost's Famous Ferry Into New York City's Most Unexpected Comedy Club

As New Yorkers trade summer Fridays for packed fall calendars, Snapple is providing a space to escape their responsibilities and enjoy a break. Hosted by Pete & Colin and produced by The Stand Group, a partner in the ferry and the team behind The Stand Restaurant & Comedy Club, the show will feature sets from some of comedy's fastest rising stars, transforming a familiar commuter vessel into the city's most unexpected place to laugh, sip, and take a break.

"Turning the ferry into a floating comedy club with Snapple makes more sense than anything else we considered, and it still doesn't make much sense," said Pete Davidson. "Either way, we're giving people a chance to take a break, have a laugh, and do something completely ridiculous with us."

Snapple Makes an Ordinary Commuter Ferry Refreshing
What started as one of pop culture's most talked-about celebrity purchases is becoming New York City's most unexpected comedy venue. Because if Pete and Colin can buy a ferry on a whim, Snapple figured the least it could do was make a familiar ferry feel anything but ordinary by turning it into a floating comedy club. A limited number of free tickets will be available for the 60-minute show hosted by Pete and Colin and featuring sets from some of comedy's fastest rising stars.

"The Snapple Island Ferry is a simple idea with a big payoff: take what people already love about Snapple's personality and bring it to life in the real world," said Brad Smith, Vice President Marketing, Stills & Hydration Portfolio, Keurig Dr Pepper. "The brand has always had a refreshingly funny take on the everyday, and comedy gives us a clear way to bring that to life — by giving people a timely, entertaining break from the things they feel like they should be doing."

Event Details
Free tickets will drop daily at 3pm ET from Sept. 3-8. Fans can claim a pair of free tickets for themselves and a guest at register.snappleislandferry.com. Limit one pair per person.

Event day details include:Date: Sept. 17, 2026
Time: Doors open at 7pm ET and show begins at 8:30pm ET
Location: Pier 17, 89 South St, New York, NY 10038

#PeachyAhoy OCEANCO TO PRESENT LEVIATHAN AND DRAAK AT THE 2026 MONACO YACHT SHOW

Oceanco has built its reputation by partnering with visionary owners who are bold enough to challenge convention. At this year's Monaco Yacht Show, that approach will be embodied by two recently delivered projects: Leviathan (111m/364ft) and Draak (93m/305ft) both owned by Gabe Newell, who joined the Oceanco team in July 2025. The attendance will also mark the first time Oceanco has showcased both a new build and a rebuild at the show.

"Every owner we work with brings a different vision, and every project challenges us in a different way," says Marcel Onkenhout, CEO of Oceanco. "With collaboration guiding every decision, we are looking forward to showcasing two yachts at this year's Monaco Yacht Show that truly reflect this ambition."

Leviathan and Draak were designed around teamwork and community. A highly collaborative build process across both projects resulted in unconventional layouts and crew-centric design philosophies. Developed to operate seamlessly together, Leviathan and Draak are companion yachts within Gabe Newell's Inkfish fleet.

"With Inkfish, we try to focus on being of service to the scientific community," says Gabe. "We work with scientists to understand what's helpful, then look at how our technology, tools and resources can best support their mission, whether that's getting them to places they couldn't otherwise reach, developing new technology or providing funding to remove barriers to their research."

Delivered in November 2025, Leviathan rethinks yacht design and operations to improve the experience of everyone living and working onboard. Communal spaces create an environment where guests and crew are encouraged to interact, while low-maintenance materials aim to maximize crew productivity. Dedicated onboard facilities, including a dive center, laboratory and hospital, support Inkfish activities.

Delivered in June 2026 following a comprehensive rebuild by Oceanco's Life Cycle Support, Draak has been reimagined for an entirely new operational purpose. Alongside Leviathan, she now supports Inkfish expeditions with specialist diving facilities, a capable tender fleet and heavy-duty lifting systems. Many of the same design and operational principles introduced on Leviathan were also adopted on Draak.

The Monaco Yacht Show will also mark just over a year since Gabe joined the Oceanco team. His tenure has overseen the continued expansion of the Oceanco's

collaborative ecosystem through the addition of Alewijnse and Winel, joining fellow specialist companies Aluship, Lateral and Mercury. Looking ahead, Oceanco sees further opportunities to welcome increasingly ambitious owner visions. By leveraging a wider technological ecosystem available to the Oceanco Group, the builder is exploring ways to innovate across the design, construction and operation of future yachts.

"Just about everything I've been involved in over the years has moved some aspect of technology forward in a way that benefits customers," says Gabe. "Our aim is to identify interesting technologies, prototype them and move them into production."

As one of the key events on the yachting calendar, the Monaco Yacht Show offers a valuable opportunity to connect with clients, partners, and industry professionals. Throughout the week, Oceanco will also take part in a curated program of events, with Leviathan and Draak on display at the cruise terminal, as well as hospitality spaces across different locations at the show.

With new build and refit opportunities available, Oceanco continues to welcome conversations with potential clients seeking to realize their own unique visions. To make the most of your visit, book a private appointment with our Sales and Life Cycle Support teams directly.

#PeachyAhoy #MarylandPeachy @PrideofBalt #TallShipsAmerica #PrideofBaltimoreII Tall Ships: Exclusive Interview with #Engineer #MaryWalker

What Grok the XAI by Elon Musk tells us:

Pride of Baltimore II is a beautiful square-topsail schooner and a modern reproduction of an early 19th-century Baltimore Clipper. It serves as Maryland’s official sailing goodwill ambassador, promoting the state’s rich maritime heritage, Chesapeake Bay history, tourism, and economic development.

History
The original Pride of Baltimore (a smaller topsail schooner built in 1977) was the first Baltimore Clipper constructed in over 150 years. It sailed successfully as a city ambassador until a tragic microburst squall sank it on May 14, 1986, off Puerto Rico, claiming the captain and three crew members.
Public outpouring of support led to the construction of Pride of Baltimore II as a sailing memorial. Designed by naval architect Thomas C. Gillmer (who also designed the first Pride) and built by master shipwright G. Peter Boudreau (a veteran of the original ship), construction began in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor in 1987. The keel was laid on May 3, 1987; the ship launched on April 30, 1988; and it was commissioned on October 23, 1988, near the historic Fells Point site where the famous War of 1812 privateer Chasseur (“Pride of Baltimore”) was built in 1812.

Pride II is larger and more seaworthy than its predecessor, with modern safety features (including watertight bulkheads), while retaining the classic sharp-built Baltimore Clipper profile. It has sailed over 275,000 nautical miles and visited more than 200 ports in 40 countries across North, South, and Central America, Europe, and Asia.

Specifications
Rig: Square-topsail schooner (10 sails total, including square topsail and flying topgallant on the foremast)
Sparred Length: 157 ft (48 m)
Length on Deck (LOD): 100 ft
Length Overall (LOA): 105 ft
Length at Waterline (LWL): 91 ft
Beam: 26 ft 4 in (8.03 m)
Draft: 12 ft 6 in (3.81 m)
Rig Height: 107 ft (33 m)
Sail Area: 9,018 sq ft (≈ 838 m²)
Hull: Wood (framed and planked with hardwoods from Belize)
Propulsion: Two diesel engines (≈ 160 hp each) for auxiliary power and extended range
Tonnage: ≈ 97–185 long tons (displacement varies by source)
Crew: 12 professional crew (rotating captains); accommodates up to 6 working guest crew
Certification: USCG Subchapter T passenger vessel (ocean-rated)

Baltimore Clippers were renowned for their speed, maneuverability, and weatherliness. Pride II can reach speeds up to about 13 knots under sail and maintains the elegant, raked-mast profile that made these vessels famous as privateers during the War of 1812.

Mission and Public Access
Operated by the nonprofit Pride of Baltimore, Inc., the ship educates the public about Maryland’s maritime history while serving as a floating ambassador. It participates in tall ship festivals, races (such as the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race), and major events.

Visitors can enjoy:
Free or low-cost deck tours when in port
Public day sails and sunset cruises
Overnight “working guest crew” passages (hands-on sailing experience)
Private charters and receptions
The ship typically offers these opportunities at ports along the East Coast, Great Lakes, and occasionally farther afield.

Current Status (as of 2026)
Pride of Baltimore II remains fully active in its 39th sailing season. In 2025 alone, it sailed over 9,300 nautical miles, made nearly two dozen port visits, and welcomed more than 53,000 visitors.

In 2026, it is prominently featured in Sail250 events celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, including stops in Richmond, Norfolk, Baltimore (with air show), New York, and Boston, plus additional ports afterward. It returns to Baltimore for winter maintenance (downrigging) each year before resuming spring voyages.

Pride of Baltimore II is a living link to America’s maritime past and a stunning sight under full sail. Whether you catch it in port for a tour or join a sail, it offers a memorable connection to Chesapeake Bay history and the spirit of the original Baltimore Clippers.
