#FashionAlert #BravetheCold #MonogrammedPeachy #EnglandPeachy #InauguralReview @Brodie_Cashmere #BeBrodie The British Are Coming! Star of the Show #February2024 #Coterie #AnneMarieHoldsworth Founder and Owner of #BrodieCashmere Shows the Fashion World the Best Way to Stay Warm This Winter!

Anne Marie Holdsworth, Founder of Brodie Cashmere!
AMERICA, THE BRITISH ARE COMING!
...and specifically, we are referring to our new friend, Anne Marie!
It's not who you know.
...and we've been telling you that for 28,000 posts so far.
This website was named after Peachy's 10th grade English class at Miss Porter's School by Mover and Shaker Rennie McQuilkin, and the newest person you should know is drumroll please, ENGLISH!!!
The star of the show this week at New York's Fashionable Coterie is without a doubt Anne Marie Holdsworth, Founder of Brodie Cashmere! We are so in love with their quality, we will honour not honor the British way of spelling in this post and not use daft American spellings like color for colour. Everyone knows Peachy is proud to be an ENGLISH American and who knows, maybe 23 and me will find a connection.

Peachy's a bit like today's Paul Revere of the internet, telling you all the amazing ways the British are coming. Of course, there's the England Peachy column. We were honored to celebrate our 27,000th post with Sir Paul McCartney and his album that he did to celebrate his 80th birthday. And earlier in our history we met Stella McCartney at The Met:

We were also thrilled to help bring attention to the only Beatles new release in Peachy's lifetime last fall:

Style is serious.
Keeping warm is serious.
QUALITY is serious.
And Brodie Cashmere is serious quality style that will keep you warm when the temperature in Manhattan and everywhere else that has an internet that wants to read us dips below zero!
Not all cashmere is created equally, and not all cashmere brands have a 70-year private family brand history, but at the conclusion of this review, you can read all about it, America!  Baby, it's cold outside and you ought to wrap yourself up because it's a jungle out there in Manhattan-specifically, JUNGLE GREEN!  On Peachy, it's the Evie Scarf and Beth's Beanie, both in Jungle Green.  And on her hands which naturally are busy doing the selfie, are the Classic Gloves, especially great if you have nails because there's space, in BARBIE PINK (and yes we recommend the movie because we've been honored to work with WBD for well over a decade and way before the movie, we loved Barbie and reviewed ENTREPRENEUR BARBIE.)
You're going to like them so much even when you're in room temperature, it will be hard to take them off because they are so soft and fun!
We all have been speaking English on this side of the pond for the last two and a half centuries because England won the war in colonization of course....and if Coterie was a war, in our humble opinion, Brodie Cashmere won with their high style, sensational colors, brilliant illustrious business history, signature comfort and stunning monograms.
Irresistibly soft cashmere crafted from grade A Mongolian fibres, Brodie cashmere comes in elegant silhouettes in neutral tones for that classic cashmere look, as well as modern shapes finished with vibrant colour accents and elevated detailing.  It's machine washable and beautifully designed.
It's fashion that's New York traffic-stopping!
Brodie Cashmere is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.

We look forward to telling you more about this great brand, new to us.

A FAMILY STORY

OUR FOUNDERS
As Bills wife, Anne Marie was naturally curious about the fine cashmere fibre being sourced by the family and how that could be transformed into the best in cashmere knitwear. However, it wasn’t until her daughter Jes joined her parents in business that the idea to start creating knitwear for other women began.

11 years ago, Anne Marie embraced the quality and craftsmanship she had observed and combined this with her own personal style working alongside her daughter Jessica. The Mother and daughter team helped create and shape the identity of Brodie as we know it today.

Transforming her ideas into reality, the business produced samples of the finest cashmere knitwear designed by Anne Marie. Jessica took the step to take a stand at Pure London a sales exhibition at Olympia London.

From the first show, Brodie was truly born with buyers immediately loving the Brodie knitwear and styling and making multiple orders.

Throughout the journey, Brodie has never lost the essence of being a family run business providing bold cashmere knitwear for the life its clients live.

The Brodie style appeals to both the mother and the daughter and reflects Anne Marie and Jessica who created it.

Founded by mother-daughter duo Anne-Marie Holdsworth and Jessica Talpade, Brodie is a family-owned boundary-pushing luxury clothing brand.

Originating from Yorkshire, from a long family lineage steeped in textile fibre trading and cashmere manufacturing, the pair are determined to bring their bold vision and innovative designs to its community of women through a responsible supply chain.

With over a 1000 speciality stores globally, Brodie brings together women who support, share and advocate stories of empowerment in order to inspire the next generation of change makers.

Style is unique and so are you.

From our family to yours.

...and one last British shout out: Thanks British Consulate and Getty Images for putting us on the cover of the New York Coronation!!!  King Charles, are you wearing Brodie?!

KEEPING IRELAND ON TOP: WHOM YOU KNOW CELEBRATES IRISH STYLE INTELLIGENCE AND EXCELLENCE with the Highly Recommended z4631 Ladies Side Zip Coat in Wine, by West End Knitwear Since 1957 #BravetheCold #FASHIONALERT

Highly Recommended z4631 Ladies Side Zip Coat in Wine, by West End Knitwear

Molly Cullen, Founder of West End Knitwear

Irish Girls Rule.
(But if you're reading us, you probably already know that.)
That's a fact and when Peachy Deegan's Aunt & Godmother (same person) visited her at UCC in County Cork when she was a student, she later followed up with a T-shirt that said IRISH GIRLS RULE which we wear under our West End Knitwear...her mother was Peachy's grandmother who's pictured below, and who was 110% Irish American with all four grandparents born in Ireland and settled Bristol, Connecticut, land of ESPN 100 years earlier.
Peachy and her Grammy on her 1st St. Patrick's Day, learning how important being Irish is!

Every day is St. Patrick's Day and a day to wear something fabulous crafted for you in Ireland.
Looking great is a 365 day a year goal.
Molly rules and we did not have the chance to know her, but we DO KNOW her two sons, Paul and John Cullen and Paul's sons, Barry and Niall Cullen, all current owners of West End Knitwear, which is Keeping Ireland on Top. So, whether you are Irish or just wish you were, you can achieve a stunning Irish look with West End Knitwear, made in Ireland.

Here's another fact.
IT'S A BLIZZARD IN THE NORTHEAST.
Not only is it necessary to be gorgeous, but it is also necessary to be WARM.  Be warm in style: utilizing knit patterns traditional to Aran and Celtic design and layering in a modern shape with an angular zip style – this side zip coat is both unique and beautiful.  Knit in soft merino wool at a mill in County Kildare Ireland, you’ll stay warm and cozy when the weather gets chilly, and today chilly is an absolute understatement.

Its illustrious history includes the village of Monasterevin in the county of Kildare, Ireland.  It is the home of West End Knitwear Ltd. The company was originally established by Molly Cullen in 1957, after creating beautiful Aran designs with her mother and grandmother for many years. Molly’s dream was to incorporate a family knitting business whose heritage stretched back for over 100 years. Molly is the granddaughter of Kate O’Shea, who, in 1856, was the first craftswoman in Ireland to commercially market her robust, hand knitted woollens. Molly Cullen recognized a market for fashionable Aran style knitwear and established West End Knitwear Ltd in her home village of Monasterevin.

Proud to keep the tradition alive, West End Knitwear Ltd was continued by Molly’s sons Paul and John Cullen who saw the opportunity to incorporate the best traditional aspects of their mother’s Aran sweaters into modern and fashionable styles. These new styles would come to recognize as the benchmark for modern Aran cable knit sweaters.
Early days of West End Knitwear Ltd in the 1960's

Today it is the biggest knitwear manufacturer in Ireland, with a vibrant workforce under Molly’s grandsons Niall and Barry Cullen. As the designers and producers of the finest quality Irish Aran Knitwear, the extensive range uses the traditional Irish Aran Stitches throughout these garments which are believed to bring luck, success and health to the wearer, ensuring we keep our long-treasured history of traditional Irish craft.

West End Knitwear is conscious of its roots in the past; however, the company has its eyes firmly focused on the future. From its situation in the west end of Europe it takes pride in being the first company to manufacture garments which were originally designed for those engaged in a rugged, outdoor life. Some of these garments have been adapted for modern worldwide markets and are worn by men and women with pride and pleasure.

Both our Aran Crafts and Nua collections are manufactured to the highest standards using the finest quality materials: merino wool, pure new wool, linen/cotton, cashmere and introducing new super-soft merino wool. We have a large capacity in 3 and 5 gauge knitting and we produce for customers own brand labels

KEEPING IRELAND ON TOP with SUPER SOFT MERINO EDGE TO EDGE COAT X4693 : WHOM YOU KNOW CELEBRATES IRISH STYLE INTELLIGENCE AND EXCELLENCE, by West End Knitwear Since 1957 #BravetheCold #FASHIONALERT #WhomYouKnow

Molly Cullen, Founder of West End Knitwear

Three more days!
Do you have your Irish on?
As long as you're not going to the beach (we mean the beach in America, where you go to the beach when it is 80F or more and the sky is blue, not a cold day in Ireland or the UK when the sky is white and it is about 50F at the beach-when you should wear a sweater or two!), you should be making every day a fabulous sweater day because there are so many great Celtic designs on the market, specifically by West End Knitwear!
The wool on this is the softest ever and you will fall in love with both the comfort and the extraordinary detailed style.  Meet the
Edge to Edge Coat, in natural color – Warm merino wool, crafted with traditional Irish designs that are timeless creates wonderful texture and style. Though it is called a coat, you can wear this as a sweater inside.  It is uber-cozy!  While the pattern is traditional, it is layered in unique panels and styled to work within a contemporary wardrobe, making this a new modern classic. It is hand-made in Ireland of the finest quality soft wool.  We suggest pairing it with a high collar underlayer to extend the look.
And, a
s we told you,
Irish Girls Rule.
As in the Irish Girl Molly Cullen.
Earlier, this brand was first featured:

Why would you wear any old sweater?  This brilliant look has an absolutely gorgeous neckline that we have seen nowhere else in Manhattan (or America) that is universally flattering.  The cable detail dresses this up so it could be paired with dressier smart looks, not only casual styles like jeans.  Embellished with Celtic knot designs symbolizing eternity and love, this waist-length side zip will keep you warm and stylish.  Woven in soft merino wool at West End Knitwear mills in Monasterevin in County Kildare, we find this to be lightweight yet toasty warm. A final great touch is the zipper pull: a Trinity Knot, another classic Celtic symbol.

If you're proud to be Irish, dress like it.
If you just wish you were, we can see why.

Brave the Cold: Luna & Terra Milano Scarf in Steel Blue and Ivory Highly Recommended by Whom You Know!

You should know that when the temperatures drop, sometimes the Best of Manhattan is manufactured in Peru and designed in Texas.  And, you should probably not mess with Texas and we do not want to mess with being cold.  Peachy HATES to ever be cold.  Or tired. Or hungry.  But everyone probably knows she's not very hungry very often!
Luna and Terra has proved that they are a brand without a sophomore act; we like them just as much in their second feature.
Previously they were featured:
and we'd suggest pairing those with this scarf.  Some winter scarves are ridiculous, however, this one is pure class especially when you consider the width of these stripes.  We haven't asked her but we think Mariella is Italian and you know how great the Italians are at design.
Infused with cross patterned stripes and accented with misty fringes, this Milano Scarf is gorgeous, boasting supremely soft 100% baby alpaca yarns.
Colors available in Ebony/Ivory, Steel Blue/Ivory, and Oxford Gray/Ivory
100% Baby Alpaca (not a blend). Baby Alpaca fiber is the denomination that is given to the first shearing of 3 year old Adult Alpacas (not babies) from the underside of the neck area. We suggest sending it to Hallak the Couture Cleaner!
Hand wash with special wool detergent in warm water and lay flat to dry. Baby Alpaca actually becomes softer and warmer the more you handle and wash it. With proper care it will last a long, long time!

Brave the Cold: Luna & Terra Messina Hat and Gloves in Steel Blue Highly Recommended by Whom You Know! We are Happy to Kick Off Coverage of Luna and Terra!

Our Florida column is highly underpopulated.

Peachy Deegan is officially freezing, and summer is over, Manhattan!

Time to bundle up!

With fall winding down and the wind gusting around every skyscraper leaving you absolutely freezing, it's high time to start thinking about preserving yourself from the elements in style.

A brand new to us, Luna & Terra, is highly impressive in their inaugural review.  Designed in Houston and manufactured in Peru, these products are classy, stylish and well-made.  They told us they are made from the world's finest Alpaca yarns.  We know them because Charles Dyer is Peachy's facebook friend.  As you know people named Charles have a great track record on Whom You Know; some name drinks after us (Charles Ferri) and others put us in their novels (Charles Kipps).  Charles Dyer and his wife Mariella Bertello are the geniuses behind this brand.

Since Peachy Deegan actually knows how to knit and knows something about yarn, we come from a point of knowledge on this matter, and we would agree that this probably is the world's finest Alpaca yarn. Maybe we should find out where they get the yarn from specifically because we have not seen it for sale in Manhattan (as if Peachy could ever actually get off of Twitter to knit...!)  This yarn is soft and premium quality, and we are pleased to kick off our coverage of Luna & Terra with the Messina look in Steel Blue.
This hat is hand knitted from luxuriously soft alpaca fibers and features a comfortable Watch Cap rib band, crowned in a splendid Cable and Rib pattern and matching Pom-Pom. The Messina hat is made from 100% Baby Alpaca (not a blend). Colors available are Imperial Red, Steel Blue, Habano (natural undyed), and Ivory (natural undyed).

Dimensions: 10 1/4″ L x 9″ W

Diameter: 20 1/2″ not stretched
Hat band is elastic and fits all head sizes

The Messina Gloves are a must to have, especially since you want them to match the hat. Hand knitted from luxurious soft alpaca fibers, these Messina Gloves feature a comfortable rib band with a splendid Cable and Rib pattern. They are topless so you can check your Twitter as much as Peachy does, and answer your phone calls, and dig out your keys, and do everything else with your fingertips.  Colors available in Imperial Red, Steel Blue, Habano, and Ivory.
100% Baby Alpaca (not a blend). Baby Alpaca fiber is the denomination that is given to the first shearing of 3 year old Adult Alpacas (not babies) from the underside of the neck area.
The versatility of this look spans from a great look for a hockey game to going out to your favorite restaurant...stay tuned on one of our favorites that boasts an owner that has been there for nearly FIVE DECADES: he's the original owner. This shade looks particularly fantastic with jeans. A r

omantic take on a Nordic Sailor hat, the Messina is a must have from the hat to the gloves!

Hand wash with special wool detergent in warm water and lay flat to dry, or we suggest sending to Hallak the Couture Cleaner so you don't ruin it; these are that nice. Baby Alpaca actually becomes softer and warmer the more you handle and wash it. With proper care it will last a long, long time.

Dimensions: 9 1/2″ L x 3 1/4″ W
One size fits all

GEIGER Superlight Walk Fitted Jacket Earns Whom You Know's Highest Recommendation-A Must for the Chill Upon Manhattan Now!

The Northeast has had some balmy December days, but Mover and Shaker Lonnie Quinn is telling us to bundle up this weekend and a great way to start is to layer with Geiger, one of our most favorite fashion brands.  Please meet the Geiger Superlight Walk Fitted Jacket!  It's without a doubt your go-to blazer for the season with its classic flair and versatility.

On Peachy at Martin's Tavern with her pal and favorite manager, Joey from New York!
A Timeless Classic re-invented! This GEIGER Superlight Walk fitted jacket is fashioned after the Dirndl jacket. It boasts gorgeous princess seams ending in tiny slits that create an oh-so-fashionable peplum effect. Structure, knit, trim and delicate metal buttons complete the look. Fit = true, fitted.
