#ChampagneWishes #Summer #Italy #KeepingItalyonTop @winesellersltd by #AdamSager and #JordanSager Tiamo Organic Pinot Grigio Highly Recommended by #WhomYouKnow

It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and it was Kind of Wild and absolutely positively fantastic to see Katie Lee again last fall (we met her prior to the existence of Whom You Know) where we met her business partner Adam Sager too.  Kind of Wild was so impressive, they earned a spot in our Best of 2024 list.  Winesellers Ltd., also by Adam Sager and his brother Jordan, has some of the best summer wines on the market this season and our discriminating panel was thrilled to consider this spectacular ORGANIC white wonder.  The richness and ripeness of the organic nature we believe yields greater flavor and is more healthful though we make no medical claims.
Our panel liked the upbeat, bright notes that demonstrated tremendous versatility from food pairings of seafood to charcuterie at cocktail hour.  Or in Peachy's case, she pairs it with the Lenovo Thinkpad writing this right now!   And earlier, she had it with salad and check out our newest culinary hits in Sensational Salads!  Winesellers captivates the very best from around the world that we are going to tell you about this season and this is their first home run.  This is part of the Master Sager collection we see on the label and sourced from the Delle Venezie D.O.C..

"Tiamo Pinot Grigio is produced from a single organically farmed hillside vineyard in San Dona di Piave in the heart of the Vento. This wine is fruit forward, medium bodied and has well balanced acidity"
-Adam Sager
President of Winesellers Limited
Tiamo is a line of excellent moderately priced Italian wines made from organic grapes. They all represent top quality wines from the best growers in their respective regions. The selection includes a delicious Prosecco that is sourced from vineyards in the village of Valdobbiadene, a crisp but fruit forward Pinot Grigio that comes from vineyards near Treviso in the Veneto region, a beautifully soft Chianti from Montespertoli which lies in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, a robust Barbera from the Lombardy region and a delightful rose from Abruzzo. Several of the Tiamo wines are also available in kegs and cans.
Our Tiamo Pinot Grigio comes from a single organically farmed vineyard in San Dona di Piave located between Venice and Treviso. The region is ideally suited for the Pinot Grigio grape with soils that are high in clay and sand and vines located on hillsides with good exposure to the sun.

VINIFICATION

The grapes are picked at night when it is coolest and after gentle pressing of the grapes and clarification of the must, fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel vats for about 10 after which the wine is carefully stored until ready for bottling in the early spring. The wine does not go through malolactic fermentation and has no oak treatment to keep the wonderful bright, crisp characteristics of the Pinot Grigio grape.

VARIETAL: Pinot Grigio

REGION: Veneto, Italy

ALCOHOL: 12.0 %

TASTING NOTES

This is a great example of beautifully balanced Pinot Grigio. The wine is fresh, crisp and dry but has a tremendous amount of flavor and body. There are suggestions of apple and pear on both the bouquet and the palate.

#ItalyPeachy Proposed @Smithsonian Italian American Museum Rallies National Support as US House Weighs Legislation

The bipartisan bill — introduced this week by U.S. Reps. Tom Suozzi (D-NY) and Michael Rulli (R-OH) — would establish a planning commission to explore the feasibility of developing the world-class museum in the heart of Washington, D.C.

As it stands, 120 cultural and nonprofit groups across the U.S. are rallying support for the creation of a Smithsonian museum of Italian American history in the nation's capital.

Leaders and members of the Italian American Congressional Caucus, in collaboration with the Conference of Presidents of Major Italian American Organizations (COPOMIAO), spearheaded H.R. 1102, a bipartisan bill that, if passed, would create a commission to weigh the feasibility of funding, developing and operating the museum on Washington's National Mall.
Three of the nation's largest and most prominent Italian American nonprofits — the Italian Sons and Daughters of America (also led by Basil Russo), Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America and Unico National — are gathering support for the proposed Smithsonian museum of Italian American history, which would be installed on Washington, D.C.'s national mall. (Photo credit: Hal Bergman)

This commission would consist of experts in museum planning and the American immigrant experience, following a process modeled after similar initiatives that led to national museums honoring other ethnic communities.

"My father was born in Ruvo del Monte, Italy, and immigrated to the United States as a child," said Suozzi, who's co-leading the bill alongside Rep. Michael Rulli. "Here, he served as a B-24 navigator in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, for which he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He came home from the war and attended Harvard Law School on the G.I. bill. At 28 years old, he was elected City Court Judge in our hometown of Glen Cove, the youngest judge in the history of New York State. His story, and the story of so many other Italian Americans of his generation, embodies the American dream and fulfills the very promise of this country. These stories deserve a platform to be told."

Advocacy efforts are already underway, as Italian Americans across the country reach out to their respective U.S. House reps to voice their support for the bill.

"COPOMIAO's Museum and Cultural Affairs Committee pitched me the plan in 2024, and it was brilliant," said COPOMIAO President Basil Russo. "This prestigious historical initiative is part of our broader, dynamic movement, which includes the illumination of our heritage in Hollywood, the elevation of our younger generations and the preservation of our monuments and holidays."

ABOUT COPOMIAO

Based in NYC, COPOMIAO is an Italian American collective of 71 of the most influential, cultural, educational, fraternal and anti-defamation groups in the U.S.

#PeachysPantry #KeepingItalyonTop #BurrataPeachy Introducing #Gioiella #Since #1942 from #Puglia #Italy #InauguralFeature #HighlyRecommended #PeachyDeegan

Peachy Deegan and Giovanni Zibillo, International Sales Director of Gioiella

It's not who you know and it never has been. It's WHOM YOU KNOW and we know the Italians who seem to consistently blow everyone else out of the water in quality across the board. A high commitment to doing the best work possible, being ethical, being smart, being good for your word, being nice and having a great personality all together will get one quite far in life and on this website, and the Italians as a group do make everyone else look bad, as much as we hate to say it. Peachy is a tiny, tiny percentage Italian and the percentage goes up probably with her increased commitment to mozzarella and burrata consumption. Lactose is our friend too.

Today we are talking about
which is from PUGLIA/APULIA.

Don't worry if you can't speak Italian either.
Like most Americans, Peachy is hardly bilingual and her six years of French plus the most amazing private tutor in Paris have not made her fluent yet.  Once she figures that out perfectly, she'll get started on Italian which she started in 2011 with Rosetta Stone...but only kept up with the eating part: and that is exactly what you should do too!
You can make friends that speak Italian.
Vito, Peachy and Gianfranco

Thank you to our friend Gianfranco Sorrentino, President of Gruppo Italiano and Founder and Owner of Il Gattopardo (ALAIN DELON we still are absolutely dying to eat dinner there with you-name a time peachydeegan@gmail you need a break from Europe and New York is too much fun to ignore) and The Leopard at Des Artistes, both Peachy's Picks for many years who introduced us to all that is great and Italian at their consulate. Vito and Gianfranco are kind of like Madonna on this website: they don't need a last name. They are that popular.

So the cream rises to the top...and in this case, literally! Gioiella is quite intelligent to put Giovanni Zibillo at the helm of the importing as he knows his products and his English is terrific-essential!

The brand tells us:

QUALITY IS IN OUR NATURE
THE SECRET IS IN THE MILK

In our supply chain everything flows in harmony, because those who are well produce better.
Gioiella's secret is in the milk of Bruna cows, the natural heir of the noble Podolica, grazing semi-wild on historic farms on the ancient "Via del latte". A territory that is still uncontaminated today, the Murgia Park, a plateau that runs through a large part of Puglia crossing the Itria Valley. An enchanted place, full of greenery, history and natural resources. It is from that magical milk of happy cows grazing that the Gioiella world begins. The milk, coming from a well-supervised production chain, arrives daily at the company, where it is examined and controlled by the internal laboratory, on the basis of rigid and well-defined parameters: breeding methods, stable hygiene and controlled nutrition.

CERTIFICATIONS

THE WORLD IS JEWELRY...and in Peachy's world, she likes to wear it and eat it!

Let's get this Puglia party started. We begin with:

SCAMORZA: Scamorza is a stretched-curd cheese, made with cow's milk. Its name originates from the Italian verb “scamozzare”, which means removing a part.  To put it simply, Scamorza is intense, high-quality mozzarella.  It is like professional mozzarella.
We tried both AFFUMICATA (Smoked) and BIANCA (White, the original) and respectively each was the wearing diamonds equivalent of eating.  Certainly you could add these to many dishes, but we had them straight and they do not need any extra.  They are the center of attention, obviously!  Puglia is really a region of Italy you should know about because of the excellence of this brand in particular.  The production of fresh scamorza with the classic pear shape is accompanied by small rounds, donuts with holes, loaves, hand-shaped braids, elongated breadsticks and Murgian cylindrical breadsticks

SCAMORZA
Medium consistency string cheese; scamorza has a characteristic pear shape, short neck and head; the color is ivory white which becomes straw yellow as storage continues or following very short maturation. It has a smooth surface and compact consistency. The taste is delicate, slightly savory.

INGREDIENTS USED:
Pasteurized milk, lactic ferments, salt, rennet.
Acidity regulator: lactic acid.
Milk origin: Italy

We also tried the Burrata Cinquanta.  We believe the second word means 50 because there are three in 50g.  What is important to take away from this name is that not all mozzarella and not all burrata is created equally.  This is Italy unleashing its best on the international market for you to discover and obviously devour.  The restaurants are going to be sad you find out about this because once you order it you are going to feel like you are Executive Chef of your Personal Palace and really all you have to do is order it and open it, which is exactly how Peachy likes to cook!  Happy cows make a happy Peachy and a happy you, reader!

Gioiella is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know and we can't wait to tell you what they do next.
Up with Puglia!!!

A STORY
OF GOOD FLAVORS
A bicycle, two brothers and grandmother Paola's savings, two hundred thousand lire in large sheets. Thus began from Gioia del Colle, almost a century ago, the dream of the brothers Sebastiano and Francesco Capurso with the story of the most famous mozzarella in Italy: the "Gioiella". A small shop in the center of the town and a bicycle adapted in a rudimentary way to transport milk marked the fate of Gioiella, the renowned one hundred gram mozzarella which from Gioia would arrive on tables throughout Italy. After more than seventy years, our goal is still to grow and improve. Gioiella continues to be synonymous with quality and innovation.

#KeepingItalyonTop #PeachysPantry Fabrizia Spirits Establishes Lemon Grove in Italy

Previously Highly Recommended by Whom You Know, Fabrizia Spirits, the leading limoncello producer in the United States, announces the establishment of their own lemon grove in Italy.

Brothers, Phil and Nick Mastroianni, at their lemon grove in Sicily, Italy.

"We are proud to announce that with the help of our lemon agricultural partner, Gruppo Villari, we have established our own lemon grove in Sicily! Considering our humble beginnings, peeling lemons in the garage of our parent's home, this is a monumental achievement for the company. These lemons are grown in a perfect microclimate in south eastern Sicily near Europe's largest active volcano, Mt. Etna. The rich volcanic soil and warm winds from the Mediterranean Sea produce the most fragrant lemons in the world. We now control the fruit from orchard to bottle, and can ensure the highest quality finished product" said Phil Mastroianni, Co-Owner and Co-Founder, Fabrizia Spirits.

The lemons are hand picked, cleaned, and shipped directly to Fabrizia's facility in New Hampshire. Every lemon is inspected upon arrival, washed again, and peeled by their Italian manufactured lemon peeling machine, nicknamed Giuseppe. The Zest is then infused in pure alcohol, which produces the bright yellow color found in their Limoncello. The remainder of the lemon is juiced to form the foundation of their canned cocktails.

"The ability to source the finest fruit from Italy to produce our Limoncello freshly in the United States, without adding artificial coloring, flavors or preservatives, puts our company in a unique position to provide the USA market with an authentically prepared outstanding limoncello" said Nick Mastroianni, Co-Owner and Co-Founder, Fabrizia Spirits.

To add traceability as part of their "Follow the Lemons" campaign, Fabrizia is installing a live webcam, which will overlook their grove near Siracusa, Sicily. Both the webcam and information on Fabrizia's Sicilian lemons can be found at https://www.fabriziaspirits.com/followthelemons

#ItalyPeachy #ChampagneWishes #KeepingItalyonTop The Italian Trade Agency Keeps Expanding Knowledge of Italian Spirits Through Experiential Dinners and Pros' Tips for the Upcoming Holiday Season

The New York office of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) continues to educate American trade and consumers on Italian Spirits partnering with the 11 Italian brands involved in the third edition of the PR Campaign (MeMento, Ditta Silvio Meletti, Strega Alberti Benevento, Distilleria Varnelli, Giulio Cocchi Spumanti, Luxardo, Toschi Vignola, Montenegro, Lucano 1894, Andrea da Ponte, Italspirits).

Last month, Antonino Laspina, Trade Commissioner and Executive Director for the USA, together with award-winning Mixologist Valentino Longo and Chef Michele Casadei Massari from Lucciola Restaurant, led a successful tasting event for some of the most influential media editors, spirits writers, and content creators, taking them on an immersive journey that combined iconic Italian spirits with ingredients of a prime quality, offering the perfect pairing. "The world of spirits is on the rise in the US and with unique and interactive events like these we can properly display the versatility of Italian spirits in combination with authentic ingredients in dishes, enhancing flavors mutually," said Mr. Laspina, expressing the ITA NY mission to promote Italian Spirits as a whole.

Whether you're a traditionalist or are after an alternative twist for your tipple, ITA's master mixologist and speaker of the current promotional campaign, Valentino Longo wants to share his top tips for food pairings this holiday season.

For many, festive get-togethers aren't right without a selection of good cocktails, and with a whole range of spirits available, the flavors of the holidays may be shifting towards a whole new tasting experience.

Here are some unconventional spirits options according to Mr. Longo:

- A smoked salmon starter paired with a 50-50 Martini with equal parts of Italicus, Americano Cocchi, and Luxardo Gin, delicate enough to match and not mask the fish's flavor.
- Roast turkey with all the trimmings paired with Negroni utilizing equal parts of Bitter Meletti, Amaro Lucano, and Gin. It's just the right amount of acidity to pleasingly cut through the fattier meat and potatoes!
- Christmas pudding goes well with an Amaro Punch with 60 ml of amaro Montenegro, 30 ml of memento, 20 ml Lemon Juice and 15 ml Millefiori honey, finished with 40 ml ginger beer. A rounded spirit mix with enough body and a dash of sweetness to complement Christmas pudding beautifully.
- A Charcuterie Board with a good palate cleanser such as a Bam Bou cocktail: equal part of Dry Sherry, Cocchi Dry, and a dash of Varnelli Secco.

Cin cin!

THE ITALIAN TRADE AGENCY BRINGS BORSA VINI BACK IN 2022 - SHOWCASING THE BEST OF ITALIAN WINE

The Italian Trade Agency (ITA), in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is bringing the third edition of the Borsa Vini event to Singapore in November 2022. Borsa Vini is a one-day exhibition of some of the finest Italian wines. The Borsa Vini 2022 will be part of the Italian Cuisine Week promoted by the Italian Embassy and is all set to impress connoisseurs, local wine buyers and sommeliers.

The thirst for good Italian wine has increased across the globe and Borsa Vini is returning to Singapore at the perfect time. Italy is known for producing the best wines in the world and renowned for their quality and innovative production techniques. Italian wines have a unique texture that is representative of their rich culture.

Italy is the world's largest wine producer and it also happens to be the 2nd largest wine supplier to Singapore after France in EU countries.

"Italy is well known all around the world for its largest range of wine varieties across its 20 wine regions. Italy is the world's biggest wine producer, and it is of great appeal for the Singaporean market. In 2021 the Italian market wine value was 14.2 billion euro, and among the EU Countries, Italy has been the 2nd supplier of wine to Singapore" - says Mario Vattani, Italian Ambassador to Singapore and Brunei.

The Italian food and beverage sector is enjoying a steady double-digit growth in exports in the Asian region and Singapore is no different.

The export value from Italy to Singapore has increased by 34.5% as compared to 2020 and now stands at a whooping 20.4 million euros. This is indicative of the fact that even though the market took a slump during the pandemic, there is a growing demand for Italian wines in Singapore.

This year's Borsa Vini will be held at the CHIJMES Hall on November 24th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. The event will be showcasing 30 of Italy's top wine producers from 10 regions. These wine producers will exhibit their unique concoctions to retailers, distributors, importers, restaurants, hotels, and sommeliers.

The ITA is also bringing 10 wine importers from other ASEAN countries including Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, and Malaysia. The goal is to introduce the new flavours to local importers and to drive more B2B growth in the region.

#AmazingAccessories #FashionAlert #MoverandShaker #EmilioCavallini Fall Winter 2022 Collection CLASSIC TARTAN TIGHTS OPAQUE/SHEER 80/30DENIER Highly Recommended #ItalyPeachy #KeepingItalyonTop

This exact one just might be OUR FAVORITE this season.
Given our Celtic background, tartan is in our blood and anything tartan has our name all over it.  And we guess they heard us in Italy!  It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and in the gospel of excellence we preach, there is one person in the world who is better at making your legs look their best and his name is Emilio Cavallini.  In both design itself and its execution of the best quality made in Italy, Emilio Cavallini sets the standard for fashion tights worldwide.

EMILIO CAVALLINI IS A MOVER AND SHAKER ON WHOM YOU KNOW AND HAS BEEN THE MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED DESIGNER IN AMAZING ACCESSORIES OF FASHION ALERT IN OUR 13 PLUS YEAR HISTORY.

The Emilio Cavallini Fall/winter 2022 collection loves playing with colors and seduction.

Brilliant colors like red, green, and blue have been chosen for fishnet tights which are dominant in the collection, in order to be sexy and not take yourself too seriously.

Spirals wrap your legs making them sinuous and elegant while geometries play with transparencies, lights, and shadows.

Classic patterns are still present like tartan, glen plaid but are revisited in more modern and current key thanks to the use of color.

It is a dynamic collection, full of energy, and energizes the simple pleasures of going out to have fun and get noticed shamelessly.
