#PetitePeachy #HealthyPeachy @CFAPeachBowl New Peach Bowl Donation Fuels Breakthrough Pediatric Cancer Trials
$2.5 million investment advances 18 promising clinical trials, giving children and families new options for treatments.
Children fighting cancer have the opportunity to benefit from 18 promising drug trials, supported by the Peach Bowl LegACy Fund, due to a new $2.5 million donation by Peach Bowl, Inc. to the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
This second major capital injection follows the original $20 million contribution that established the Peach Bowl LegACy Fund in 2019. Since that time, the list of cutting-edge drug trials and treatments has grown to 18 and now encompasses seven pediatric and adult facilities around the country. Currently, 79 children are enrolled in drug trials for a variety of cancers.
"The Peach Bowl was created to give back, and we continue to follow that mission through our donation and commitment to fund the most promising clinical trials," said Gary Stokan, Peach Bowl, Inc. CEO. "Our goal in creating the Peach Bowl LegACy Fund was to partner with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and give them the resources they need so that together we can work to advance treatment for childhood cancer."
The overall goal of the Peach Bowl LegACy Fund is to ensure that high-priority novel agents, devices and treatment strategies can be tested in patients at an accelerated pace, eventually leading to additional treatment options and cures. Funding is used specifically for developing drugs and novel treatments – including cellular therapies – that physicians at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center believe have the best chance of success.
"Thanks to the tremendous support from Peach Bowl Inc. our researchers will receive additional funding to help move their research from bench to bedside efforts as they continue to identify new ways to treat pediatric cancers," said Douglas Graham, MD, PhD, Chief, Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
In July, the fifth funding cycle was finalized, utilizing the final remaining $3.6 million from the original donation, to award funding to four new trials – bringing the total number of ongoing trials and studies to 18. The new trials include:Thomas Cash, MD will study a tumor-suppressing drug for eligible patients with solid tumors.
Sarah Mitchell, MD will launch the first immunotherapy trial for children with osteosarcoma using a drug that has shown success as an upfront therapy for other pediatric cancers.
Building off years of collaboration with the University of Georgia, Tobey MacDonald, MD's study aims to increase survival for children with incurable brain tumors using immunotherapy.
Michelle Schoettler, MD will study a novel drug to prevent thrombotic microangiopathy following a blood and marrow transplant.
Peach Bowl, Inc. is committed to the long-term sustainability of the Peach Bowl LegACy Fund and is continuing to find ways to inject new funding into the program. That ongoing funding will include corporate donations from Peach Bowl, Inc. and Aflac totaling $200,000 in connection with the two Aflac Kickoff Games – set to be played over Labor Day weekend – along with the proceeds from the 50/50 fan raffles at the games potentially delivery another $100,000 for the Peach Bowl LegACy Fund.
In September 2018, Anna Charles "AC" Hollis, a patient at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, passed away from acute myeloid leukemia. Anna Charles is the daughter of Peach Bowl, Inc. VP of Sales, Benji Hollis and is the inspiration for the Peach Bowl LegACy Fund, named in her honor.

#ProductAlert #ParisPeachy #FrancePeachy #KeepingFranceonTop Rue de la Paix by #IsabeyParfums Since 1924 Earns Our Highest Recommendation #PanougeGroup Earns Whom You Know's Highest Recommendation
It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and we have known Panouge Group since 2009 when we first featured Jacques Fath. In 2009 no one was writing online except for a few people like Peachy, few brands had websites and Bernard Naim wanted to work with us then before Peachy even knew how to tweet, nevermind have a Twitter account which you all know is X today. This year, the Panouge Group of Paris, France has had hit after hit with Jacques Fath, Perle Rare, and Masaki.
Today, we are thrilled to present Isabey Parfums, another fabulous, historic hit since 1924! The only thing we don't like is that we missed their 100th anniversary last year!
Specifically, Rue de la Paix in all of its peachy glory has earned it a spot in another column, A Peachy by any other name does smell as Sweet. Bien sur (of course, learn French, silly!), this is Shakespeare-inspired by the name and it is for everything at all that is PEACHY but of course perfume might fit the bill best. The bright sophistication of Rue de la Paix is summer perfection that will elevate your day from day to night. The name translates to "Peace Street" and your inner peace will improve your olfactory sense aspect of your entire day. Your allure has never been greater and it has earned our highest recommendation!

TOP NOTES

HEART NOTES
Ylang-ylang Essence, Ylang-ylang Absolute, Jasmine Absolute, Tuberose, Narcissus, Lily
BASE NOTES

The Fragrance
Rue de la Paix by Isabey Paris is a sparkling white floral fragrance. It is a luxurious perfume that celebrates the Maison’s 100th anniversary. For this momentous occasion, Isabey has introduced a new scent to its Eau de Parfum collection. Rue de la Paix exudes elegance and timeless beauty in a rich, floral composition.
Rue de la Paix by Isabey:
The fragrance is a masterful composition of noble materials, particularly featuring a bold bouquet of white flowers, including Narcissus, Tuberose, Lily, and Jasmine. Initially, the perfume opens with a juicy, realistic Peach note, adding a modern twist to the classic floral arrangement. This initial burst is followed by a sensual heart of intense floral notes, gradually blending into a rich, woody base with hints of Papyrus. Altogether, it creates a truly white floral fragrance, a signature of Isabey.
“Rue de la Paix combines the most beautiful flower essences with a playful and modern touch of Peach, evoking the effervescence of a glass of champagne. Moreover, its sophisticated trail pays homage to the floral notes of the 1920s and thus leaves a refined imprint reminiscent of an armful of flower petals, which seduces and enchants.” – Patrice Revillard, perfumer
In addition, the elegant presentation features a transparent bottle with silver hues and a cap adorned with Isabey’s signature purple ribbon. The timeless design of the coffret reflects the brand’s DNA and craftsmanship, preserved by Creative Director Rania Naim. Ultimately, Rue de la Paix pays tribute to Isabey’s legacy, blending chic and contemporary notes to create a truly luxurious perfume.
Natural Spray Eau de Parfum: 50ml / 1.7 oz
Perfumer : Patrice Revillard from Maelstrom
The Art of the Creation
The Making of Rue de la Paix with perfumer, Patrice Revillard
In crafting Rue de la Paix, perfumer Patrice Revillard aimed to encapsulate the essence of Maison Isabey and its illustrious heritage. The result is a vibrant white floral fragrance—a true signature of Isabey—that beautifully harmonizes modern elegance with timeless sophistication.
The exquisite blend of natural ingredients, including jasmine and ylang extracts, creates complexity, while the signature papyrus essence adds a unique depth to this captivating perfume.
“A fruity Peach note was incorporated in the composition, symbolizing the effervescence, like in a glass of champagne, very uplifting, very sparkling.”
The Story
Since 1924, Isabey has embodied a unique olfactory heritage, consistently exuding timeless refinement and elegance. Thus, to celebrate this prestigious 100th-year anniversary, an exceptional fragrance was essential.
The name Rue de la Paix recalls the street where Isabey’s very first boutique opened in Paris in 1924, marking the beginning of a grand saga. Moreover, this fragrance not only celebrates a century of excellence but also bridges the historical and modern aspects of the Maison, encapsulating its journey through a scent that is both intense and sophisticated while simultaneously adding a touch of mystery and magic to its trail.

#ChampagneWishes #KeepingAmericaonTop Absolutely Rose All Day When it is Smith-Madrone 2023 Estate Grown Rosé by Mover and Shaker Stu Smith
"We don’t make a Rose every vintage, only when the component grapes----Merlot and Cabernet Franc—seem especially suited. Our goal with the 2023 Estate Rose was to create an intensely flavorful and deep pink wine which is both fun and substantial. You might find notes of red cherries and rhubarb in the wine, or strawberries, white pepper and white peaches."
Readers, it's time to put on your rose-colored glasses because you want your optical fashion to match your wine glass. With its piercing color, full flavor and delicate acidity, the Smith-Madrone Rosé is 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc, and 100 percent what you should be drinking this spring and summer no matter where you are. We love that it is made in the USA of course and this wine is in keeping with their previous forays into the world of pink wine. It's distinctively American straight from one of the pioneers of Napa Valley himself! You'll be totally in the pink sipping this festive winner and it was unanimously loved by all different kinds of palates at Whom You Know.
The Rosé opens with a delightful aroma of strawberries, rhubarb and white pepper, which then rolls over into white peaches and orange blossoms. Obviously, we seek out anything which is evocative of any variety of peach! Therefore it has earned a double feature in the Peachy column or triple in fact because it is Made in the USA.
On the palate, the wine is intensely flavorful and packed with bright red fruit, to a degree unusual in a rosé. It is as though red currants, rhubarb and red cherries all merged into a fourth flavor called Smith-Madrone Rosé. This is a lovely glass of wine with a very high fun quotient that happens to be pink.
Simply put, the wine is just outstanding!
2023 Estate Grown Rosé by Smith-Madrone is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.

MANAGEMENT: Stuart Smith, Founder, General Partner
Charles F. Smith III, Winemaker
François Bugué, Associate Winemaker
MOUNTAIN VINEYARDS: The vineyards sit at elevations between 1,300 and 2,000 feet, on steep slopes which range up to 34%.
PLANTING: Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon were initially planted in 1972. Cabernet Franc and Merlot were added in 1998. Petite Verdot was added in 2007. Pinot Noir was planted in 1972 but grafted over to Chardonnay in 1986.
ESTATE : All wines made entirely from the winery's dry-farmed estate vineyards surrounding the winery on top of Spring Mountain in the Napa Valley. Stuart Smith chose specific slopes with different exposures for specific varietals when planting the vineyards: eastern exposure for Riesling, southern and western exposures across flat stretches for the Cabernet Sauvignon and the coolest north-facing slopes for the Chardonnay. There are numerous historical sights on the ranch, as well as the huge array of natural beauty and wildlife.
SOIL: The soils are mostly deep-red Aiken Stoney Clay loam, part of the Aiken, Kidd, Forward complex of soils which are volcanic-based, well-drained and deep for mountain soils. The underlying geology is the Franciscan Assemblage, unique to California coastal ranges, which includes altered mafic volcanic rocks, deep-sea radiolarian cherts, sandstones, limestones, serpentines, shales and high-pressure metamorphic rocks, all of them faulted and mixed in a seemingly chaotic manner as a result of tectonic plate activity. The soils are rocky, with some rocks as large as small cars.
FARMING: Smith-Madrone is a pioneer of dry farming; from 2017 forward, the vineyards have been minimally irrigated, if at all. Stu Smith explains in this video.
CURRENT RELEASES:
2023 Estate Rosé (131 cases, $30)
2021 Estate Chardonnay (983 cases, $45)
2021 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon (1,652 cases, $65)
2019 Estate Riesling (1,087 cases, $40)
2021 Estate Cabernet Franc (153 cases)
2018 Cook’s Flat Reserve (2300 bottles, individually numbered, wrapped in proprietary tissue, $225)
Occasional availability of re-released library wines
All wines are Spring Mountain District appellation, all wines are estate-grown and estate-bottled.
Occasional availability of re-released library wines.
PRODUCTION: Approximately 3,000-4000 cases a year
HOSPITALITY: Tours and tastings by appointment only, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays at 10:00 a.m.
THE ESTATE: 200 acre ranch, partly planted as vineyard over a century ago; California black bears and other wildlife once thrived here; enormous 120-year-old Picholine olive trees frame a path and view down to the floor of the Napa Valley and Bothe Napa Valley State Park
THE NAME: A tribute to the Smith brothers and the predominant tree on the ranch. The Madrone is an evergreen with a red-brown trunk and branches. In spring the tree bears lily-of-the-valley-like flower clusters; in fall orange-red berries appear.
HONORS: Stu was named one of the wine industry's most inspirational people in January 2018. [Link to Wine Industry Advisor]; Smith-Madrone was named Winery of The Year in 2014 by The Daily Meal and its earliest accolade was winning “Best Riesling” in a field of international rieslings put on by Gault-Millau in 1979. The winery is profiled in a segment of Behind The Glass on SommTV.

#ReadThis #Waldorf=Astoria #TheWaldorfAstoriaBarBook by #FrankCaiafa @HandleBarsNYC
It's Friday, readers!
It's a LONG WEEKEND!
KNOW WHY WE'RE WRITING IN PEACOCK BLUE???
...because we found someone who KNOWS it is Waldorf=Astoria!
If you don't know the equals sign is there, you are seriously misinformed.
We are told we take excellent notes, even when Peachy is imbibing during a review, and it is quite likely she actually had many contents of this book in past years when it was actually possible to go there.
WE LOVED REVIEWING PEACOCK ALLEY, THE BULL AND BEAR AND OSCARS AND ALL THREE WERE PEACHY'S PICKS.
We are extremely upset when a Peachy's Pick closes and when this triple crown closed, we were beyond upset....Sadly, the Waldorf=Astoria now makes us cry our eyes out today and we cannot discuss its demise because we absolutely have nothing nice to say...and you know when we have nothing nice to say, we cannot type.
What does not make us cry our eyes out is the enduring quality of The Waldorf Astoria Bar Book, which is a must for your library, your bar and a great gift too. By Frank Caiafa, it is one of the best encyclopedias you will want to read. Who reads encyclopedias? We do, when they are great like this one is. THIS IS COCKTAIL HISTORY. This book has wide appeal.
For everyone that asks what Peachy does with a degree in American History from Boston College, here's your answer. This is a quintessential book on American History: do you know until unfortunate President Obama wouldn't go, all past US Presidents from Hoover on up stayed at the Waldorf=Astoria? We believe there is an underground passage....we would like to see it someday.
It is key to read the entire book when you are NOT drinking so you absorb it and make a game plan.
Did you know about the fish pool? Can you imagine catching your dinner! (p. 10) There are several PEACHY drinks, starting with the Peach Bitters on p. 32, Peach Brandy on p. 49...and obviously, even better than the Peachy parts is the MANHATTAN on p. 222.
Although the content is top-notch, the grammar in this book needs improvement and whomever edited it did Frank a disservice. If we edited it, we would have told him in our proofreading services:
p. 9 no FEWER than 10 bartenders
p.12 FEWER than 2 years
What can we say. Not everyone knows Rennie McQuilkin but we are forever grateful that we do; Chrishaunda do you agree with our corrections? We know bloopers are ingrained in you, too. (and we know you have a good pink bubbly story!)
Finally, a mocktail book might be a good follow up, Frank.
The Waldorf=Astoria Bar Book is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.

#IlPostino Since 1997 by Luigi and Maria Russo @ILPostinoNYC Their Second Hit on #WhomYouKnow Now at 133 East 61st Street!
The entrees exemplify excellence at Il Postino
Our friends Maria and Luigi Russo, Founders and Owners of Il Postino
...and even the rose is PEACHY.
You know this means a double feature in A Peachy by Any Other Name...we are into details and so is Il Postino!
It's not who you know and it never has been. It's WHOM YOU KNOW and we know Luigi and Maria Russo, founders and owners of Il Postino! It has been ages since we first met them when they were featured in 2017, and we are delighted to return and introduce you to their new location on East 61st Street on the Upper East Side. It is obvious that Maria used to be a professional in the fashion industry because of her stunning taste and style. Il Postino moved from their last location to here on July 16, 2021.
We noticed on their website you can translate it into Italian; if you are Italian and don't speak English you can translate us on the top right of Whom You Know to read this review, directly under Testimonials and Search.
We were graciously greeted with cannellini beans with exquisite finely chopped calamari, evoo and lemon and this fresh, fragrant introduction was a glorious beacon of what was to come. An incredible zucchini marinade with garlic, mint and crushed red pepper also came to the first spot in the Il Postino hit parade in tasteful manner as well.
If you haven't had it yet and even if you have because you're going to want to have it again, the Carpaccio Di Tonno, Cernia e Salmone is what is missing from your summer. It is absolutely intoxicatingly delicious with the trifecta hit of Bluefin Tuna, Snapper and Salmon. The combined flavor sings a song of summer on your palate and the essence of each of the trio will make your day. Even you, Clint Eastwood.
Capers and Red Onions beautifully garnish this Crudo.
Il Postino started in New York on 49th Street in 1997.
Note we never ever edit pictures and only always publish the truth.
The truth are Luigi and Maria are in it to win it and it does truly look this fantastic.
Over fourteen years into doing this, we rarely see something we don't think we've had, especially Italian. The Carciofi Il Postino: Artichokes with Baby Shrimp in a Lobster Sauce arrives piping hot and these wonders of the sea make this a premiere antipasti deserving of your attention. It goes without saying that Il Postino is the epitome of elegance and a destination venue.
Obviously, the pasta course is a crucial element of any Italian venue and Il Postino absolutely rose to the occasion with not only quality but also creativity and freshness, as the second one was made literally right in front of us.
First, above, please meet the Calamarata Con Cozze e Calamari: Calamari shaped pasta with mussels, calamari and saffron sauce. The sauce alone exemplified excellence and the mussels in particular were particularly ravishing.
Farfalle Ulpia, below, is totally old world class prepared right in front of you with Bow Tie Pasta with Pancetta, Mascarpone and Spinach. A dusting of parmesan makes it even better and if anyone had any question if New York is back, you only need to look around the room to know it absolutely is. Mario the Captain was the ultimate professional to work with as well, and he has only been there since 1992!
We chose this smashing Cantina di Montalcino and we loved it.
Yes, it really does look this incredible which is beyond indicative of the flavor that awaits you. How many thousand times have we said no dressing? Everyone wonders where we will eat the dressing and the answer is almost nowhere. Except with the Pollo Milano at Il Postino!!! The Breast of Chicken Breaded with Arugula and Cherry Tomatoes was simply sensational and we reveled in the simplicity.
Salmone Grigliato arrived in style perfectly medium as ordered and the Grilled King Salmon with Dijon Mustard and Caper Berries were unbelievably delicious and just what you should be having for dinner. The dijonnaise is absolutely what is missing from your life so far this summer if you have yet to add it.
Finally, do not ignore the salad section. From the Baby Lettuce e Pomodori above to the Insalata Maria below with Lettuce, Radicchio, Endive and Red Peppers, their commitment to quality produce is quite clear.
If you are a cinephile, you'll especially enjoy their decor; you know we are as we celebrated our 28,000th post with Warner Brothers, whom we have proudly and consistently worked with on movie reviews since 2010.
It had been far too long since we last saw this team that pursues excellence and we hope to stay in better touch this time and see what impressive culinary feats they come up with next!

It's led by the brilliant Keeley Hawes, whom we have featured many times; she has been previously lauded for: Upstairs Downstairs One, Upstairs Downstairs Two, The Lady Vanishes and we also loved her in Corfu although we did not publish on it. Other than the stellar casting, what we love about this most is the Highsmith-esque script a la Tom Ripley: showing up somewhere new with a different name! The scene with three passports was reminiscent of Alain Delon in particular.
It's accurate as a period piece (1970's) and is a bit like the Sopranos of the UK and Australia without being Italian. Our only question is Tom, WHERE IS COUSIN GREG???? Peachy is crying her eyes out that you are not working together now but the smartest director out there will put you together again soon. Obviously, Matthew MacFadyen has been praised for his Succession work all around! And in real life, Keeley and Matthew are also married-they play married on this show and have undeniable authentic chemistry. The casting people for this got it right.
STONEHOUSE is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.
A three-part True Con Drama covering the extraordinary story of disgraced Labour Minister John Stonehouse (BAFTA-Winner and Emmy-nominated Matthew Macfadyen, Succession,Quiz) – a charismatic, high-flying politician who vanished from a Florida beach in 1974, leaving behind a neatly folded pile of clothes as well as his wife (Keeley Hawes, The Midwich Cuckoos, It's A Sin) and children.
A shocked public and media presumed he had drowned or been eaten by sharks but in reality he had faked his own death to cover up the secret life he had been living, which included an affair with his secretary (Emer Heatley, Show Trial). Written by acclaimed author John Preston (The Dig, A Very English Scandal), directed by BAFTA-nominated Jon S. Baird (Stan & Ollie, Vinyl) and produced by Ruth Kenley-Letts (The Midwich Cuckoos, CB Strike) and Ellie Wood (The Dig, Decline & Fall).

SERIES SYNOPSIS
A three-part drama, based on the extraordinary rise and fall of MP John Stonehouse (Emmy
winner Matthew Macfadyen). As a high-flying member of HAROLD WILSON’s Labour
government and a seemingly devoted family man, Stonehouse’s perfect life spirals out of
control in the early 1970s amid rumors of fraud and espionage.
It turns out that while Stonehouse has been climbing the political ladder, he’s also been forging
secret relationships - with his secretary Sheila Buckley (Emer Heatley) and shadowy figures in
Prague - that will threaten him personally and professionally.
As the drama unfolds, suspicion from his wife Barbara Stonehouse (BAFTA nominee Keeley
Hawes) and the media grows. Stonehouse embarks on an outlandish escape plan that will lead
him to Miami, Melbourne and eventually - hand-in-hand with Sheila - the dock of London’s
highest criminal court.
All this, while Prime Minister Harold Wilson’s (Kevin R. McNally) slender lead hangs in the
balance.
It’s a story, inspired by sensational true events, that explores the price of ambition, the
pressures of politics and how attitudes towards mental health have changed in the last 50
years.
