Rollerblading Peachy: Rollerblade Spark 84 W Highly Recommended by Whom You Know and Absolutely What You Need for Summer Streets in Manhattan in August 2012!

There is nothing like putting a pair of Rollerblades on and scooting around the city!  The latest and greatest in the Rollerblade family to Whom You Know is this model, the Spark 84 W and we have fallen in love with it.  Peachy's been zipping around for a few weeks on them now and she must say she likes this pair even better than the last.  The fit is perfectly snug without being too tight, and the style is smart and stylish.  The right skate has a break, obviously essential, but not often used by our resident speed demon, who has the bruises to prove it currently!  We consider Summer Streets to be a major New York holiday:

If you have not had the express pleasure of personally jogging, biking, walking, or best of all of the choices, ROLLERBLADING down Park Avenue SANS VOITURES (without cars for everyone that didn't go to Mademoiselle Charton's class) it is something you should all experience in your lifetime, and if you do it once, you'll be dying to do it again.  It is not too often you can have a whole avenue to yourself to share with other pedestrians, etc. so we are praying for the good weather.  As long as that cooperates, we know we'll have the biggest blast around since we've got the right stuff to strap on our feet.   And if you're wondering where the name comes from, 84 refers to the millimeter size of the wheel.

So, Spark 84, why do we love you?  We love your speed and ability to turn on a dime, relatively speaking of course.  If you are new to rollerblading, definitely start off slowly!  If you can ice skate, you will be able to rollerblade and vice versa, in our humble opinion.  This Spark 84 W has both laces, velcro and the boot lock which make it totally secure.  We will warn you though-in a heat wave it is probably not the best idea to exercise outside.  One day when impatient Peachy could not stand to not rollerblade for another heat wave day (100 degrees) she decided she'd try it and her feet were actually too expanded to fit.  That shows you the precision that is incorporated into the perfect fit of these skates.
The 2012 Women's Spark 84 is stylish, comfortable, functional and great for casual inline skating and training. Great overall support is enhanced by the Double-Wrap asymmetrical lacing system that makes the upper conform to the shape of the feet more closely and provide additional support in the proper areas when in the skating stride. A versatile skate with an 84mm wheel which provides a fast but maneuverable ride. Features include: Double Wrap shell with Asymmetrical lacing, Rollerblade Training 5-Star Womens Fit liners, NEW Lo-Balance magnesium frames, Rollerblade 84mm/84A wheels and SG7 bearings. Brake is on the skate, and we can confirm it is very durable and it totally works well.  After some of the storms, tree debris (careful of that!) can be in your way so steer clear and be sure to employ your brake effectively.

If you want this same model, here's its full name:
Spark 84 W
07011100 7E1 - silver blue - 22.0-27.5

And, you know all BC kids love, love, love Rollerblading-just ask Mover and Shaker Lonnie Quinn!
Be sure to order your pair so you can cruise down Park Avenue these upcoming Saturdays and blow past the runners wearing something speedier than any sneaker!
Whom You Know just LOVES Rollerblade, and we highly recommend the Spark 84! Be sure to pick up the right model for you.  We think Rollerblading should become an Olympic sport....and in any event, it is Peachy Deegan's favorite form of exercise!

Rollerblading Peachy: It is Nearly Spring! Dust off Your Rollerblades.

It is lousy out today, but yesterday was beautiful!
We must remind you the Twister is the skate to have this spring!  Peachy Deegan was so happy the paths were reasonably clean enough yesterday to rollerblade again in 2011!
And you must be wondering with all of the restaurant reviews just how she managed.
Well, she was not one minute over her time for her route!
And it has been many months since she last had these on her feet, and many restaurants later as well.  Take a look at our original Twister review!  You need them this spring.

***
It may be raining outside in Manhattan, but that is no reason why you can't Rollerblade inside!  We are pleased to introduce The Twister to you in our inaugural official Rollerblade sneak preview review!  Sneak preview, because of the rain....the beauty of Whom You Know in this situation is that Peachy makes the rules at Whom You Know, so unlike other occupations where you cannot do that, she is seeing how they work inside...we don't recommend them on carpet!  However, until you put the break on them, carpet is perfect.

The Twister is an urban skate that is designed specifically for navigating the city streets.   Smaller wheels and a shorter frame ensure it is maneuverable and the molded shell is highly responsive so you can react quickly to the obstacles that come before you.  This model is calling your name, women of Manhattan!  The higher cuff  is supportive for confident skating.   This one of the best selling skates in NYC, used as a fun green way to get around and avoid using taxis and subways.
Peachy can't wait to try them outside, and she'll keep you posted!

It's a bird!  It's a plane!  It's Peachy, on rollerblades!!!  Watch out Manhattan because now she is faster than ever!!!

After installing the break:
and telling the rain to stop:
Peachy Deegan put on her rollerblades on the East Side paths by the river and we must say she was even quicker than the cars, and that's not only when they were in stop and go traffic.  We cannot think of anything more fun than Rollerblading all over Manhattan in this brand new model!!!  The Twister 80 will make you fast as the wind and everyone will be eating your dust!

If you don't know how to rollerblade, it is time to learn now that the weather is temperate and you won't be dying in the sun and humidity that we just experienced.  The Twister 80's really do let you twist about-they are great for agility and for stopping on a dime, which you inevitably will have to do at some stage as we ARE in Manhattan.  They're so comfortable to wear with the molded cuff and Peachy loves the handle in the back of each skate that allows you to take them on and off with ease!  With two buckles on each inline skate, this pair really keeps your feet in snugly without being too tight...and also they tie with laces in the front.
We of course tested them in women's but we hear there is a men's model also!
  • Structure: Professionally Molded
  • Liner: Specialized 5 Star Fit
  • Closure: 45 degree buckle, cuff buckle and laces
  • Frame: 243mm Hot Rod ALU
  • Wheels: Urban 80mm/80A
  • Bearings: SG7
We highly recommend the Twister 80's and Rollerblading Peachy will keep you updated on her adventures!  Catch her if you can!!!  Whom You Know just LOVES Rollerblade.

Rollerblading Peachy: Do you feel like a Turkey? Go Put On Your Rollerblades and Peel Off the Pounds!

Did you eat too much turkey, Manhattan?  Too many heaps of mashed potatoes?  Piles of pumpkin pie?  Champagne glasses full of The Peachy Deegan?  If you are feeling overstuffed and want to remove some of that stuffing, to minus pounds we suggest adding rollerblades to your feet.  This is the right equation for moderation.  One of the most fun activities that you can do that is still exercise, Rollerblading will get your heart and your spirit going in the right direction, and your waistline will no longer bulge.  You know Peachy Deegan is all about the brand new Twister 80's; she talks about them all the time....All about this fabulous Twister 80 model:
And if you are whining about the weather, take advantage of it now while it's 50 degrees!  It's going to be way way worse.  An added bonus?  You will not be so sweaty when it is so cold!  Get out there and Rollerblade, Manhattan!

Rollerblading Peachy: Bundle Up, Put on Layers and Skate Away!

Brrr if it is colder than 70 degrees, Peachy Deegan thinks it must be winter even though she hails from balmy Connecticut.  Last time we checked, winter comes on December 21st, right?  It is so much fun to rollerblade in the summer sun, but are you hesitating because it is freezing out?

No excuses!  In no time at all, when you have your Rollerblades on, the sheer motion and fun involved will have you warm in no time.  Of course, you cannot Rollerblade in snow, so until the sleet, snow and rain become involved you can still go outside and rollerblade.  Peachy is sporting the nice warm Asics leggings and Swany gloves we've recently reviewed, and we suggest them to go with your Rollerblading gear.

And if you are afraid your feet will get cold, that is just more hogwash.  Your feet still will be just as firmly strapped in if you are wearing the cool Twister 80's and Peachy's piggies have not frozen yet in this chilly Manhattan weather.  All about this fabulous Twister 80 model:

An added bonus?  You will not be so sweaty when it is so cold!  Get out there and Rollerblade, Manhattan!
