Champagne Wishes: Whom You Know Highly Recommends the 2007 CONTRARIAN Napa Valley Proprietary Red Wine by THE BLACKBIRD VINEYARD

Peachy Deegan just loves celebrating the end of a day with an elegant glass of wine, and the 2007 CONTRARIAN Napa Valley Proprietary Red Wine by THE BLACKBIRD VINEYARD is ideal for a day when you just want to be one with your air conditioner in Manhattan, like today.  Every day in Manhattan at Whom You Know is cause for celebration, we say!  Contrarian is a distinguished blend of reds that will delight your senses, whether it's paired with simple cheese and crackers or complementing a lovely steak.

Contrarian is a textured blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon (we love all three!) possessing both an aromatic richness and subtle tannin profile. It exudes Blackbird Vineyards' Pomerol- inspired elegance, while displaying the regal posture that comes from superior Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.   This is American wine at its finest!  We are impressed with the complex qualities of Contrarian and its full body-in our first review of wine by The Blackbird Vineyard we can tell you now this will be the first of many if they are all this excellent!

A wine to indulge in now and for decades to come, Contrarian's uniquely supple structure flouts convention.    We think we also are unconventional here at Whom You Know, and this Contrarian also tries to do ordinary things in extraordinary ways, but its magic is in your wine glass not on your computer!

“The 2007 Contrarian is saturated with fragrant blackberry, black cherry, and earthy forest floor complemented by cedar and blueberry notes from the Cabernet Franc influence. The powerfully structured palate unfolds with layers of dark berries, cola, cocoa, and black truffle, showcasing fine and silky tannins on the mid-palate. The smooth finish is balanced, providing persistent length of flavor. Touted as the “vintage of the decade” by wine critics and winemakers alike, Blackbird’s 2007 wines offer approachable tannins with incredible flavor concentration and length imparted by the mild growing season.”
