Peachy Ahoy: Whom You Know Highly Recommends the World Yacht Platinum Experience!!! The Duchess made Princess Peachy and the Yacht Critics of Whom You Know feel like Royalty! The Best of Manhattan this Summer is on the Water in a Yacht-Land is So Overrated-Get on World Yacht Today!

We search high and low for the Best of Manhattan, and sometimes we are lucky enough not even to have to search: because it's not who you know, it's Whom You Know.  We heard of World Yacht through a very saavy marketing person they have been smart enough to hire, and we are only sorry we did not do this sooner!  We love love love things that go from cars (Cruising Peachy) to planes (Pilot Peachy) and of course, boats (Peachy Ahoy!).  Peachy Deegan is not a girl that sits still for very long and is fascinated with things that go due to many hours of watching car races and hockey games quite early in life.  Of all boats, we must say we quite like yachts.  And we really like yachts with excellent champagne, prime filet mignon cooked exactly the way you order it, and outstanding fish like the red snapper, salmon and shrimp we enjoyed.  Even better are the exquisite views of Manhattan, timed perfectly with the sunset, even if you have the Secret Service buzzing about in helicopters concurrently....President Obama descended on the vicinity today and usually the cruise goes around the whole island but today due to obvious government restrictions the route was circumvented.  It did not matter to us though, because the whole experience is so great up and down the Hudson River and down near the Statue of Liberty that it is impossible to have a bad time.  We are invited to many, many events and are not easily impressed.   However, we found the total entertainment experience will delight anyone from the person visiting Manhattan from the midwest for the first time that can't believe anything they're seeing in the playground called Manhattan and its waters to Peachy Deegan, who is a jaded critic who has seen a lot in Manhattan with a sharp eye for detail.

The yacht critics of Whom You Know boarded the boat with no set expectations other than knowing we like their marketing person from her reputation, and knowing that we like yachts.  We believe our readers have sea legs and even if you don't, you should get them because you would be missing out otherwise.  This is not the first yacht we've been on but it is our first official yacht critique.  How bad could going on a yacht be?  Well, there are several factors that could contribute to a poor experience.  You could have bad food.  We are restaurant critics you see from Peachy's Picks and food critics generally in Peachy's Pantry, so that was a possibility.  You could have bad weather, but that is a chance you take with anything outdoors.  You could have someone at the wheel who makes you seasick because they can't drive-like many taxi drivers on the land side of things.  You could have a lousy atmosphere or a crowd that just doesn't cut it.  We do think about these things....
The food was outstanding and exceeded our expectations by quite a lot.  These expectations are never low, either.  Shown above, we started with Shrimp Cocktail, a perfect classic, and the Salmon Trio, an amazing combination of innovative ways to serve salmon: House Smoked Salmon, Salmon Tartar, Pastrami Cured Salmon, Pomegranate Mustard and Paprika Potato Salad.  See:
Also we sampled the vegetable ravioli, so if you are a vegetarian like our favorite milliner in Manhattan (Ellen Christine of course), there is something for you here.  We are of course carnivores, however.  Peachy is pretty picky as you know, but in a good way, just to help the readers...the fish was succulent, fresh and cooked precisely to our expectations.  Catch of the day was the Red Snapper and we ordered that with the Prime Filet Mignon which we ordered medium, and it came medium to a T.
The Prime Filet Mignon was accompanied by horseradish mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and roasted shallot port reduction, and the Red Snapper was delivered to the ship today (as are all Market Catch Provencals) and was pan seared then oven roasted served with provencal sauce, sauteed tomatoes, onions, capers, olives, garlic, white wine and basil.
We drank champagne and rose and they were quite good, but if you compare the quantity of food critiques to the number of alcohol critiques, you can see one really does outweigh the other so no matter where we are eating usually we have an opinion about what brands they may add...We are asking ourselves now why we would ever want to eat on land again, unless we were going to Swifty's of course.

Today we totally lucked out with the weather.  It was perfect.  However, if the weather was lousy, you'd be inside for dinner eating such nice food and seeing great views....and how often does rain last a whole four hours?  Obviously this is something World Yacht does not control....

It was totally seamless smooth sailing.  We did not meet anyone responsible for navigating the yacht, but hats off to them.  The trip was beautifully even-keeled, even if you are wearing high heels and drinking champagne.  You know who we're talking about here.

The crowd was festive and classy, and we must say we did not see an empty seat anywhere on the entire yacht, so this only speaks to the rampant popularity.  We were pleased to have a window seat in the bow of the boat on the platinum level, and would recommend you do the same.  So, all of our criteria were met and received top accolades.  There was even a chocolate choice for dessert, so again, they knew who was coming tonight.  And by the way, this is a year-round experience, we just happened to write about it now during the summer.

Seriously, the only way you would have a bad time on the World Yacht is if you brought someone with you that drives you up a wall.  So, we don't recommend this for first dates, because it is a four hour commitment and you can't just leave the person you come with unless you throw them overboard(!), but that would really be your own fault if you bring an un-fun companion!  World Yacht we have heard is legendary for proposals, weddings, major corporate events and they even have jazz on the weekends.  Today during the week there was a dj on the first floor where we ate after dinner, and also there was music on the third floor open air balcony.  The live music is a growing component we understand and maybe someday they will be lucky enough to have Jenna Esposito (the only musical show we've recommended twice) singing there too!  Whom You Know highly recommends World Yacht!!  If you haven't been, book your trip today because this is a hot commodity.  It would make any day a celebration.  We absolutely loved it!  Maybe in the winter they will put a skating rink on the third balcony; if they do, Peachy is bringing her skates.
