Peachy Deegan Has Become The Cookie Monster Because She Loves The Essential Cookie, Which Happens to Be 100% Vegan although Peachy is 100% Meat and Potatoes. Whom You Know's Peachy's Pantry Panel Cannot Get Enough of the Cookies by Cindy Klotz Productions!!!

Cindy Klotz has been in the commercial baking business for over 20 years and it shows in these cookies.  Obviously, practice makes perfect.  Cindy now produces 2 vegan product lines - The Essential Cookie in 5 flavors, an individually wrapped cookie in 5 flavors and another we'll tell you about another day.  Peachy Deegan saw them recently at Whole Foods, so she contacted Cindy to find out more.  It is a known fact that Peachy Deegan first received literary acclaim as a sportswriter, and the athletes she hung out with at Boston College definitely had table manners akin to the Cookie Monster, her favorite Sesame Street character.  No wonder why she liked them.  What a far cry from sit-down dinner at Miss Porter's!  We may have an Etiquette from Connecticut column, but this is one time when when just had to be to be the cookie monster.   Peachy even plugged this brand earlier this week in the Mikasa review and we almost never plug a brand before the review is out:

And yes we do suggest Star Vodka and The Essential Cookie off that fabulous china; all of it together is a winning combination.  The Peachy's Pantry Panel is so in love with this brand and they rave:

I am no monster, but I do love cookies. When Whom You Know asked me to review some cookies, I was all excited. But then I read they were vegan cookies and my first reaction was ewwww! I mean, who eats vegan cookies if they don't have to? I was sure they were going to be awful. I am happy to report back to Whom You Know readers that I was just plain wrong. Cindy Klotz all natural 100% vegan The Essential cookies are delicious. There are 5 different flavors, my personal favorites being the oatmeal cranberry and the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. My daughter, whose food choices are very limited due to multiple food allergies, loved the chocolate chip cookies. And having tasted the ones she usually eats, I can attest that these cookies from Cindy Klotz taste so much better. This morning, my daughter ate a whole bowl of oatmeal for the first time ever because she was promised a piece of the ginger spice cookie if she finished it all. And with her mouth still full of ginger spice, she walked right up to me and said, "I want chocolate now." Now, my wife and I are not vegans, but we do find ourselves in the natural foods sections of supermarkets on a weekly basis. From our experience, we'd pretty much concluded that the foods available in those sections just don't taste as good as the stuff we usually eat. Now that we've tried the Cindy Klotz line, we know how wrong we were. And the fact that we can look at the list of ingredients and pronounce everything there, really makes us feel better about serving the cookies to a three year old. They are a treat that all of us can enjoy together. I can split a cranberry chocolate chunk cookie my daughter and not feel like I am missing out on real sweets. The true test of a tasty cookie is the grandpa test. If my father likes them, they've got to be good. Just yesterday, I gave my father the ginger spice cookie out of the wrapper and he devoured it and was looking for more. Unfortunately for him, I was saving the last one for my daughter. When I showed him the packaging, he laughed because he considers vegan "healthy foo foo food with no taste" but Cindy Klotz and the Essential has definitely challenged his position!

Immediately, the packaging grabbed my attention.  The color and panache of the package is just so inviting, and I happen to be an expert on brand packaging, having my own brand too.  Many products I review may be good inside but no one is ever going to want to get that far if they don't like the packaging first.  The taste of the essential cookies is absolutely amazing!  The ratio of dough to chocolate chips is perfect; it leaves you wanting more chocolate and is just enough.  You always want to be left wanting more!!!!  Best of all this does not taste like health food.  I would not be inclined to try that but you can imagine Peachy is convincing in getting us to try new things that she thinks will be great.  These are soft, moist and very fresh.  So smart!  Also quite flavorful, from the Ginger Spice to having Cranberry Oatmeal in my cookies, I found the combinations to be unique and I'm sure this brand will capture a coveted space in the cookie market.  The light sweetness is just perfect.  It's too good to be true almost that these are good for you!

I will not eat any of that vegan stuff, so don't even try to give me any! That was my initial reaction when I was offered some of The Essential 100% Vegan Cookies. After seeing that other doubters were if fact enjoying these treats I changed my mine. These cookies are not small in size, so sharing is an option, only if you really like that person though. The first cookie that I tried was the Ginger Spice, as my wife is a ginger lover. The ginger in the cookie is complemented by the sugar topping that justs melts in your mouth. Goodbye ginger snaps! The Cranberry Oatmeal cookie combined two healthy foods that I eat anyways. A good bowl of oatmeal in the morning is how I start my day, especially in the upcoming cold months. Cranberries are a healty snack, especially for men, so this combination has it all. Maybe I'll skip a bowl of cereal for one, or two of these Cranberry Oatmeal treats. Sounds logical to me, right? Now there are some people that have a sweet tooth, myself included. We are not left out when Cindy Klotz Productions test kitchen thought up some new creations. We have already acknowleded that oatmeal is healthy for our well being. The bakers in the test kitchen thought of us when they created The Essential Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie. A perfect blend of both main ingredients have created a winning combination. Have we heard about all of the cookies available from Cindy Klotz Productions, not yet, two to go. The next cookie we have to discuss is the Cranberry Chocolate Chunk. Oh, those delicious cranberries are back and now we have added chuncks of chocolate. Yes, I said chuncks of chocolate. There has be a baker in that test kitchen that loves chocolate as much as I do. What a treat, that one was not shared, I'm sorry. Last but not least, we have our good, old, basic Chocolate Chip Cookie. Who does not love one of these with a cold glass of milk. The right amount of chocolate chips mixed into a great batter produces the best chocolate chip cookie ever! Remember, all of the ingredients are all natural and 100% vegan. Will I become a vegan, probably not. Will I continue enjoying these five great cookies, a definite yes. Pick up a selection of The Essential 100% Vegan Cookies and try them yourself, you won't be sorry!

While not being a vegan nor anything resembling that, I do occasionally find myself seeking the occasional vegan meal or treat. Yes, it's the healthier, more earth-friendly and compassionate thing to do, but I also have to admit that taste-wise, certain vegan fare does leave me wanting for more, and as a result, I don't go down that route too often. Hence, it's a nice surprise to come across The Essential Cookie, a 100% vegan line of cookies from Cindy Klotz Productions, which tastes just as good as its traditionally non-vegan counterparts. The line-up of 5 flavors includes: Chocolate Chip (exactly like your typical chocolate chip cookie, crunchy and interspersed with plenty of vegan chocolate chips), Oatmeal Chocolate Chip (the perfect melding of a traditional chocolate cookie with the chewy, healthy goodness of oatmeal), Cranberry Oatmeal (fruity and chewy, oatmeal deliciousness), and my 2 favorites: Cranberry Chocolate Chunk (deep chocolate taste sweetened with cranberries) and Ginger Spice (a zesty taste sensation of ginger, cloves and molasses). The cookies come in the typical deli or coffee shop-size, which is sizable and very satisfying for an afternoon tea or coffee treat, leaving just enough to share a tasting with someone else. An added plus is all of the ingredients used in the cookies are few and all-natural, without the taste being sacrificed at all. So whether you're vegan or just looking for a healthier option, this line of cookies is a must-try.
