Terrific Takeout: Nick's Pizzeria!

As you know from this column, Peachy Deegan just adores pizza and she's identified another exquisite selection: Nick's!  Fresh and flavorful, this thin crust pizza is pure quality from the true mozzarella to the succulent sauce to the ingredients of your choice.  Peachy deviated from her regular pizza topping order and decided on pepperoni, mushrooms and broccoli and the combination was a clearcut winner.  We have never been to Nick's before, and if you are deterred by the horrid second avenue subway commotion, get over it because the pizza at Nick's is totally worth it.  Nick's is originally from another borough, but you know at Whom You Know we think the other four boroughs are New England, Europe, the East Coast and the West coast so we are pleased as punch that we can find them on the Upper East side.
And unlike other pizzerias that offer a regular green salad, you should know about "The Frankie Portobello" which is absolutely amazing!  Named after someone who used to work at Nick's, this is no ordinary salad...of course it was filled with the portobello mushroom, cherry tomatoes that you won't be able to wait to pop in your mouth, and fresh lettuce not to mention heavenly thinly sliced cheese.  And they paid attention and put dressing on the side.  Not only was it in a cute little container but also they took the time to wrap it in plastic wrap so it would not spill.  We notice this attention to detail. The presentation was so beautiful we first thought the salad was the dessert.
There was no mistaking the tiramisu, however!  Of course you know Peachy eats off of bone china by Mikasa, not takeout containers...
One of the best we've had in recent posts, this delightful dessert will leave you begging for more.
Nick's Pizza truly is Terrific Takeout!  Go there.
