Terrific Takeout: Lusardi's

Luigi Lusardi is legendary on the Upper East side for having great Italian food, and now we can vouch it is Terrific Takeout as well!  When Peachy arrived, she chatted with Imer who told her Lusardi's began in 1981...back then, Peachy was pretty into The Muppets and The Hartford Whalers and certainly was not a food critic, though she went to some pretty great restaurants as a kid.  This makes Lusardi's one year older than our beloved Sistina which is not too far away.  Peachy chatted with Luigi himself and his favorite appetizer is the Crespelle Fiorentina-eggplant cannelloni filled with ricotta cheese and spinach.  It is quite clear why it would be anyone's favorite, pictured above.
Of course we had a nice salad and we were surprised to see that the dressing was not on the side, however we did not ask for it that way but it has seemed to be customary across the board.  However, this was dressed perfectly and not drenched at all.  The fresh greens were indeed fresh and we thoroughly enjoyed the salad.

And for the seafoodaholic Peachy, the Linguine all'Amiraglia hit the spot!
Linguine with shrimps, scallops, cuttlefish, mussels and clams in a lobster sauce were straight from heaven...though Luigi says his favorite entree is the Vitello Martini.
Lusardi's is Terrific Takeout!
And, since we didn't meet Luigi in person, he cared enough to call an hour later and ask Peachy how her dinner was!  How thoughtful.  As you can see, it was lovely.
