Rothmann's was first featured in Tasty Tidbits:

We are pleased to announce it has graduated to Peachy's Picks!  The superior upscale steak house is among the best we have ever encountered in Manhattan: the top-notch cuisine, the enthused, upbeat crowd and the overall dedication to quality of owner Franco Moscato makes Rothmann's the place to beat.  If you have not yet dined at Rothmann's, even if you are one of the happy hour cheerios at the bar, Peachy Deegan has five words for you: WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!  The real meat market is on your plate despite the fabulous bachelor crowd at the bar.

Peachy is a total carnivore and love love loves steak.  She has fond memories of Chuck's Steak House in the Hartford Civic Center from when she was growing up, but it's not there anymore and neither are the Hartford Whalers so the thing to do today is to go to Rothmann's and go to MSG to see the New York Rangers.  And, since they've been around since 1907 you can be absolutely confident that not only they're doing something right, they're doing everything right.

Peachy Deegan began with the exquisite jumbo lump crabcake.  You know if you read Whom You Know that crabcakes are the highest (former) life form on a plate to Peachy, and she just loved every lump of crab in them to the highest degree.  The sauce aside was lovely.  They were not undercooked which is a common form of offense for lesser restaurants and they also were not overcooked; they were absolutely superb for Goldilocks Peachy.
We were at one of the best steakhouses in town, and you know what we suggest you do when you go to Rome: do as the Romans do!  Obviously, we highly recommend you order steak unless you can't for some really important health reason, but still then Peachy herself would ignore the doctor and order steak because it is delicious!  Peachy Deegan tried the succulent Filet Mignon with Gorgonzola crust and it is definitely the best steak she has had so far in 2011 in Manhattan!  Brahim Kahly brought the Moroccan cheer to his charm in being both personable and knowledgeable during the evening, and the entire night was a total hit.  Anthony Lattarulo was a total ticket with topnotch service as well and you can see him below saying "Peachy Deegan" for the camera.  (so much better than saying cheese!)  Of course no one's existence on this earth is really worth it without chocolate souffle, and Peachy ate every last crumb.  Yes, she loved it.
The panel comments:
This is the perfect place for an after-work drink, dinner after shopping on 5th Avenue, or even a neutral place to grab dinner before a Broadway show.   Our dinner was at 7PM, and lingering until after 10PM the crowd definitely dwindles around 8:30PM/9:00PM.  The wait staff was exceptionally friendly, playful and very knowledgeable of the menu.  We were all surprised, that one of the panelist’s family owns a vineyard in Chile and Rothmann’s carries one of her labels.   So, we had the pleasure of drinking “Amayana” white wine for the evening.  I started my meal with the “Lobster Bisque”.
It was truly delicious; the soup was just the right amount of tomato/ crème ratio; less crème. The lobster was flavorful and luxuriant.  My second course was the “Sesame-crusted Tuna” with wasabi-mashed potatoes and stir fry onions, green and red peppers.
The flavors all blended perfectly.  The starter and the main course got top marks all around, but the pecan pie was truly exceptional.  I am southerner, so I KNOW pecan pie.  I have never seen such a bountiful piece of pecan pie chocked full of so many pecans.
Rothmann's is that kind of restaurant that you will immediately become acclimated to as it feels like home.  And, presumably your home is just as nice as Rothmann's!   As soon as you walk in the door you can feel the hospitality of the people. Before we started perusing the menu we already had a gorgeous breadbasket to begin. Then the recommendation of wines was really personal and dedicated! Their Chilean Wines were fantastic!  You know at Whom You Know we just love Garces Silva because not only are they the best in Chile, but they are also the family of a panelist of Whom You Know and that is me!   As an appetizer I asked for Tuna Tartare.   It was amazing how fast we had our splendid meal arriving at the table! But don't worry... The speed didn't mean less quality, the tuna with a little of chili was delicious!!  We were in a steakhouse so I had to ask for a Filet Mignon, which I ordered cooked medium and it came cooked medium with perfect taste!  To finish -nothing better than a Creme Brulle... A sweet end!!!
This restaurant is perfect to go with a couple of friends and be spoiled by Rothmann's people. There is no better end to a busy New York's day than eating at this fantastic restaurant with lovely wines and a gorgeous pieces of meat!
With a healthy selection of meat, and seafood, Rothman's isn't just about the steak.  Steakhouse is a euphemism here for generous portions and comfortable ambiance.  I'm not a meat eater, but this would be the place to bring those out-of-towners with all kinds of appetites.  Along with the steaks that made them famous, Rothman's offers a huge variety of crustaceans, and fish dishes.  The night we were there, there was a snapper on the specials, and the menu boasts bass, salmon, sesame crusted tuna, and the steakhouse scampi.  No one will leave hungry, I promise you.  The spinach salad, to begin with, was served with grilled pears, and was quite the companion to our Amayna Sauvignon Blanc, a vineyard owned by one of our dining panel.  This was a delightful and unexpected coincidence, to have a wine from within our circle served at one of the restaurants we reviewed.  Service, by the way is, as Franco says, like clockwork.  The kitchen and the wait staff have synchronized timing down to a science.
The lobster, steamed, was served at the table, by the waiter who then serves you the tender meat from the shell on your plate.  Quite a large 2 lb. lobster, indeed.  We had a table portion of grilled asparagus , laced with a delicate hint of garlic, as the perfect balance to our meals .  The Amayna worked with it all. Served chilled, and refreshing, this would be the cap of a summer evening. For this night, it was the harbinger of Spring, and enhanced this diner's experience.
Not to be subtle with the desserts, Rothman's brings in the big guns: we had the profiterole sundae.  Expecting dainty profiteroles, lace with chocolate, we were served a plate full of tennis ball sized beauties, filled with Haagen-Daz ice cream.  Bring a friend, and come hungry. Rothman's as an institution is home to Wall-Streeters and tourists alike.  As a comfy, unabashed hang-out, it's unsurpassed in this area.  And as a great place to eat, no doubts.  Even if you don't eat meat.

Peachy Picks Rothmann's!!!!
We HIGHLY Recommend it.
