Peachy Picks Rosie O'Grady's

Through the luck of the Irish, Peachy Deegan recently stumbled upon Rosie O'Grady's!
And, she truly loved it.
Rosie O'Grady's exudes class, style and superior seafood and we suspect you'll love it too.
Owner Michael Carty has really something smashing here right down to the Irish Smoked Salmon served on toast with fresh horseradish, diced onions and capers.
As she used to live in Cork, Peachy can verify that this was totally up to snuff and of Irish authenticity.  If you think we go on and on about Italian food, which we do and Peachy is not even Italian, you can imagine what we would have to say about Irish food if we could find more of the quality that we find at Rosie O'Grady's.
You know Peachy is a girl totally out of her element in Times Square.
It's closer to New Jersey than Connecticut...
The bottoms of the cuffs of your pants can get dirtier than when you are east of 5th....
In Times Square, it is hard to find girls sporting an MPS ring and places that serve The Peachy Deegan.
Well, the first two points are true but now you are going to find this Miss Porter's girl there.
We have found Rosie O'Grady's to be atypical of the regular Times Square experience.
It is clean.
It is neat.
It is IRISH.
And, it is fabulous.
Rosie O'Grady, if you were a real, live person, Peachy would bring you to Swifty's to drink her.
Earlier, Rosie O'Grady's was featured in Tasty Tidbits:
Peachy began with the salad of garden greens with homemade dressing that they attentively put on the side:
Peachy sipped a nice Columbia Crest Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington which she loved.  At the suggestion of Eric Gomez, who was totally on the ball all night, Peachy ordered the Grilled Jumbo Shrimp and Sea Scallop Risotto.  Its flavor ranked it among the best risotto's Peachy has EVER had, and the seafood was so fresh and well seared.
Asparagus tips, wild mushrooms, sweet peas and roasted red peppers joined this extravaganza that was everything you'd want in a dinner, and more.  To balance them out, some asparagus and broccoli made succulent sides and they were well-seasoned, without being overdone.
If you are Irish, you know that finding a good trifle is hard to come by at any restaurant.
Finding an EXCELLENT trifle is really difficult, but we found one:
Fresh fruit, heavenly cream, and a biscuit soaked in Jameson makes the Trifle the dessert to beat at Rosie O'Grady's.  It was simply delicious and if Peachy never had to worry about fitting into a cocktail dress again she'd eat this, all of it, every night.  The staff boasted total professionalism from Manager Eddie McGinty, pictured below, to General Manager Frank Rego who is a total peach.  Here's what Black Irish means, Frank! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Irish
Since Frank is from Spain and Peachy is Black Irish, we surmise if you go back far enough we could even be related.  But don't listen to only Peachy!  Our fabulous panelist adds:

We recently dined at Rosie O’Grady’s, an Irish themed steak and seafood saloon located on the corner of 52nd Street and 7th avenue in midtown New York. The restaurant is spacious, well lit and very comfortably designed with seating for plenty of larger parties, corporate crowds as well as intimate dates for two. We were served by very attentive waiters and were pleased to have met Frank Rego, the general manager who made sure that all our needs were met. For our meal, we started with staple dishes for appetizers,
sampling the Irish Smoked Salmon with horseradish, capers and onions, followed by small salads—1 mixed and 1 baby spinach with pecans, pears and gorgonzola cheese.
For the main course, we tried the seafood platter which contained sole and salmon fillets, jumbo shrimp stuffed with crabmeat and scallops seasoned in a light lemon butter sauce. The seafood was delightful, not too heavy and satisfied us.
We highly recommend Rosie O’Grady’s and will gladly return.
It has been around so long it predates the birth of our panel!
And, it shows no signs of aging.
It only shows signs of excellence.
