The City That Doesn't Sleep: Henry's Rooftop Bar at The Roger Smith Recommended by Whom You Know! Like Swifty's is Named After a Dog, So is Henry's-A Boston Terrier!

Arf says Henry the Boston Terrier!  Translated that means: "What are you doing this summer? You cannot possibly miss my happening rooftop open from Monday to Friday from 5pm to 10pm!"  We can hear him from the roof of Henry's, his own personal hot spot on top of The Roger Smith Hotel.  It's not who you know, it's Whom You Know and we are pleased to say now we know Henry's Rooftop Bar at The Roger Smith Hotel and Kevin Gill, below, the manager.  Kevin is a nice Irish boy and his family is from County Clare.  Say hello to Kevin when you go to Henry's.
What do we love about Henry's?  It is an intimate, classy boutique rooftop with superb cuisine and wine.  Not for everyone, Henry's boasts staff that is alumni of The Rainbow Room, no longer in existence, which makes Peachy Deegan cry her eyes out since we never reviewed that.  But no fear readers, you can meet the same cool bartenders like Klay Young, formerly of the Rainbow Room, at Henry's.
Their wine list is excellent.  From the Kermit Lynch Cote du Rhone (obviously red), to the Domaine de Triennes Rose to the Red Tail Ridge Sans Oak Chardonnay, every color of wine they have covered, and covered in an extraordinary way.  A lot of time and care went into the wine selection we can tell.  They are missing The Peachy Deegan cocktail, however.
CRABCAKES!  Oh the very word puts us in a tizzy as you know who orders them everywhere she goes.  The Henry's crabcake is high caliber and certainly not skimpy on the crab at all: totally lush and delicious with ginger aioli, crimini mushrooms and just the right amount of sauce, they will delight your senses.
The beet salad we'd recommend as well with its festive golden beets, red cabbage, scallions, and breakfast radish.  Terribly colorful, if you are an NHL enthusiast like Peachy the colors will remind you of the Los Angeles Kings of the 1980's.
The bread is excellent and is from Orwasher's http://www.orwasherbakery.com/.
You know Peachy is always thrilled beyond belief when she finds something fabulous that she has never had before and we must say you need to try the Lobster Beef Hotdog.  Chef Daniel Mowles and Kevin Gill really put their heads together thinking of a festive summer menu and this totally hits the spot:
You will just love Henry's-what are you waiting for!  It's open now!
Henry’s Rooftop Bar has amazing views of the skyscrapers of midtown Manhattan and offers great food and drink in a casual atmosphere. Henry’s is also famous for its Wednesday night clambake in the summertime. If you are wondering where the name came from, it is names after our little Boston Terrier, Henry.
Henry's is open seasonally based on weather.
