See Manhattan On Your Feet Kicks Off Our Coverage of Aigle, Most Likely the Oldest Shoe Brand We Have Covered! From 1853 to Today Aigle Has Thrived and Produced Excellent Rubber Boots: The Maramu Is Highly Recommended by Peachy Ahoy-Perfect to Wear on Your Yacht!

It is a gray day in Manhattan today, and anything waterproof is recommended!  If you don't have far to walk, we absolutely love the Maramu by Aigle!!!  Not far to walk you say? Yes we say! These are not designed for walking, they are designed for DAYS ON YOUR YACHT, silly! The heel is 17 degrees lower than the toes (lining at an angle) for better hiking out when sailing. They fit like a glove and the lacing on the instep is so chic, but what else would you expect from the French? They even make sailing boots a fashion statement...and we love that they are red, white and navy-same colors for the USA as France! Great for sailing, but really uncomfortable to walk long distance in: they are not designed for that! So if you are the type that has a driver in Manhattan and want to look super-stylish, these are for you!
Better idea: just leave Manhattan because you are not missing a thing here today in terms of weather, and lace up your Maramu's by Aigle and start sailing away to sunnier days!

And, we are absolutely THRILLED THRILLED THRILLED to kick off our coverage of such an old and prestigious brand from France:

In 1853, Aigle revolutionised the world of footwear by using rubber as its core material for boot manufacture. Boots continue to be made by hand at Ingrandes, France near Chatellerault. From preparation through to finishing, each stage takes place under the watchful eye of specialists. Firstly, the natural rubber mix endows the boots with all of their characteristics (suppleness, waterproofness, sturdiness, comfort, etc.) Then the parts are assembled by hand on an aluminium last. The 3rd stage in the process involves vulcanisation of the boots in an autoclave at 140° to give them their definitive shape. Finally, each boot is carefully inspected to ensure that a high-performance, high-quality product is obtained.  AIGLE APPLIES ITS EXTENSIVE KNOW-HOW AND 150+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE TO ENSURE YOUR NEEDS ARE MET IN EVERY RESPECT.
