DAYLIGHT: COFFEE FEST NEW YORK CITY March 9th to March 11th 2012 at the Javits Center is a Burst of Energy in Manhattan! Whom You Know Highly Recommends the Coffee Fest in New York

The Northeast and New York City in particular may be one of the most vibrant and thriving markets in the Specialty Coffee Industry if Coffee Fest New York is any indication they told us in the press release...however we at Whom You Know KNOW that Manhattan is where it all happens in this country...just ask Mayor Bloomberg!  Now we are pleased to say we have the caffeine we need to keep it going.  And since the show, we have talked to the absolute most fantastic brands we found there and we hope we are going to love what we review!  This is our first coffee show and it is a novel occurrence now when we do a show for the first time...

We attend many, many, MANY trade shows and think that one of these coffee brands should take turns showing up at other trade shows just to keep the crowd energized (not to mention they'd totally stand out and be counted!) because they all could use better coffee. Never before has Peachy Deegan been more alert at a trade show, and if you've seen her in action she is always pretty alert cruising the aisles.

She decided the way to truly test whether really fantastic coffee was being served would be to show up supertired.  This was no problem, as the night before she was celebrating Mover and Shaker Charles Ferri's birthday at the opening of The Scarlet (pretty cool crowd there too highlighted by Susan Sarandon). Certainly Peachy will find a way to incorporate putting Star Vodka into some coffee before long.

Over 2349 coffee shop retailers, restaurateurs and other specialty coffee professionals sampled the latest in specialty coffee, tea and related products at Coffee Fest New York, March 9, 10, & 11, 2012. In addition to the competition, attendees sampled from over 150 exhibition booths and could attend over 65 classes and workshops. In addition to the 2349 attendees, the Coffee Fest Exhibitors accounted for an additional 800 badges bringing the total attendance to just less than 3300.  We can't wait for the next Coffee Fest in New York!  And of course as we were at our most alert with all of this coffee, Peachy was observant of everything and we must say the best hair at the show was Mindy Spencer's (of Dillanos)-she has fantastic stripey creative highlights that are well-conditioned- and we were not one bit surprised to hear that her hair is done by Redken!  If you read us at all you see Redken is frequently mentioned because they are the best and they've earned their posts! (Peachy herself goes to Rodney Cutler...Cutler uses Redken of course.)

Note: Some brands told us that there was a coffee trade show in New York recently when in fact it was held in New Jersey once in the past recent years.  We would like to point out that New York and New Jersey are distinctly different and we have never attended a trade show in New Jersey.  We would go to Connecticut probably...

Coffee Fest is a trade show catering to the specialty coffee and gourmet tea industries. Coffee Fest’s next show is slated for The Navy Pier, Chicago, IL, June 8, 9, & 10 2012...maybe it will be right after Joel Quenneville's Blackhawks win another Lord Stanley.
