SPOILER ALERT!

Oooooooooooooooooohhhh we will take the uniforms of oppression any day!  Style and class is back in swing!
We anticipated this episode for many months, and you'll remember we even had a countdown with days, minutes and hours.  It opens with Spring 1920 and with every watching heart waiting for the wedding of Mary and Matthew we're sure there wasn't a dry eye in the house, though the wallet may be drying up...Branson returns now as an object of fascination and someone wants to hold his hand on the radiator until he behaves normally...oh, if it were only that simple!

Intrigue is rampant.
Why would the Earl put so many eggs in one basket?
What surprise is in store for the cast from Lavinia Swire's father?
Who is slipping what in the drink of whom?
What will make the Earl of Grantham and the Dowager Countess howl at the moon in unison?
And someone has swallowed a dictionary.

Mover and Shaker Rodney Cutler will be pleased to know someone's done something jolly with her hair, and Maggie Smith is at her best every time she opens her mouth:
"Are you really that tall?  I thought you might have been walking on stilts."
And what does she think of the OTHER grandmother?  A total "runaway train!"

Anna is ambitiously researching every last nook and cranny of THAT, while Bates fills in the details.  O'Brien now has a nephew on the scene,  and it has dawned on us that O'Brien and Thomas's history is in the same vein as the witches from MacBeth-Lucy, Amy and Eleanor are you reading?  Double double toil and trouble will the addition of her nephew make the bond stronger and blacker than ever or will it tear them apart?  Without a doubt the darkest is the cell and fate of Bates, who is in jail...still.

Everyone will love the showcase soiree of Downton and we adored the song "Let Me Call You Sweetheart."  We simply cannot get enough and like Carson says, people are not tired of style or show and if you are tired of style, you're tired of life.  Season Three Episode One of Downton Abbey has earned our highest recommendation!  How many hours until Episode Two next Sunday?!
