READ THIS: The Pumpkinheads Series by Karen Kilpatrick

The Pumpkinheads series of books is adorable. Big boldly drawn characters with big eyes and cute button noses. Great illustrations and cute designs which could translate to other licensed lines down the road as it gets popular. Most of the book series is written in rhymes which always interests kids and keeps them focused. The Pumpkinheads teach lessons to children about sharing and caring, and about having fun with friends and family. They promote the idea of being proud of who you are and what you look like. The books are just the right length for young children and parents. I think children ages 2-6 would relate best to these books and get the most out of them. So add them to your collection as your children will ask you to read them again and again. You will do so happily!

I love children's books and am always up to checking out new ones. The Pumpkinheads children's books were new to me, but quickly became favorites. These are beautiful to look at little books filled with easy to understand stories. What I love about the Pumpkinheads books is that they focus on feelings, self-awareness, acceptance, friendship and other issues important to toddlers and preschoolers. I read five of the Pumpkinheads books: "Carmin Cares", "Love Monster Lulu", "Ella's Toys", "Sage's Song" and "Danza's Message". All five books were absolutely delightful and are perfect to read to toddlers. They also serve well as books for new readers to try and read out loud to an adult. Karen Kilpatrick, Creator of Pumpkinheads, is also author and illustrator of Pumpkinheads. Ms. Kilpatrick has a fabulous team who works with her: An-Lon Chen serves as Illustrator, Animator and Editor, Matthew Wilson serves as Illustrator and Animator and Tara Louise Campbell serves as Illustrator. As stated above, the Pumpkinheads stories are full of situations that are important in a toddler/preschooler world. The illustrations compliment and enhance these tales perfectly. The back cover of each book states, "We love ourselves. We love our world. We love each other." Important messages for both children and adults to keep close in their hearts. I highly recommend this beautiful books. I enjoyed reading them and sharing them with my child and I know you will as well!
