A little bird told us about this amazing Peruvian hot spot on the Upper West side, and we had to find out more.  In our hundreds of posts of cuisine, it is hard to remember if we ever have covered Peruvian.  We are not apt to forget now, because Warique is that good.  Directly above, please meet the delightful
Avocado Salad.  More places should put Avocado in their salad because it is simply spectacular from taste to texture to color.  It was a lovely symphony of
Avocado, lettuce, tomato, cucumbers and carrots served with house dressing and every component was fresh and sliced intelligently.  We liked the effect of shredded lettuce.  They paid attention and put the dressing on the side.  Ms. I Do Not Usually Care for Salad Dressing loved this salad dressing, which was superior.
Next up in the batting order was the highly acclaimed
Chupe De Camarones.
Soup in summer you may say?  This hot soup is terribly summery packed with premium seafood that you will devour with glee.  If you are run down and have been to one too many trade shows recently, this is exactly what Dr. Peachy ordered for your throat.  (And those of you locked away in the Javits do not eat there-escape to the civilized world of fine dining in Manhattan.  Warique is a great choice.)  This fantastic soup is composed of f
resh shrimp soup served with rice, green peas, peruvian baby corn and batted eggs cooked under soup temperature.  We bet you will return for more.
Yes, we love seafood and you know the joke about being on a see-food diet, you see food and you eat it.  When you see the
Pescado A Lo Macho you will want to eat it.
All seafood we tried from Warique was fresh.  Pescado A Lo Macho boasts a p
an fried corvina filet with a special peruvian sauce mixed with shrimp, mussels, calamari served with a side of yellow rice-a clearcut winner.
Warique is Terrific Takeout!
Take a trip to Peru on the Upper West side.
