Summer has been here and many have been dedicated to staying in shape now more than any other time of year.  Let's keep the momentum going with healthy takeout from Patsy's because its leader is making major strides in health.  Doesn't Sal look great! As an appetizer, g
rilled vegetables with balsamic vinaigrette with extra virgin olive oil was a refreshing and healthy beginning to the latest and greatest by Patsy's. Garlic and Fresh Basil give it a tantalizing taste with a healthy twist giving pizzazz to zucchini, eggplant and roast peppers.   Superb taste does not need to mean beaucoup de calories and not all vegetables are boring.  This is great for those that want something light with fewer carbs. As you may have noticed we love to try all kinds of cuisine in our food columns but rarely do we concentrate on health. We admire Sal's dedication to getting in shape and are pleased to announce there are 45 fewer pounds of him now! BRAVO! Many people in Manhattan are in shape since we walk everywhere here, but if you want to get in shape, eat healthy things like this at a restaurant. Or if you are in shape, you may want to STAY in shape. You can't splurge every day.
You know what they say-you love those most whom you loved first and Sal was a Mover and Shaker in 2009:
and he is our first Culinary King:
Get excited for the crowing of the first Culinary Queen to come in a few weeks!
This is a traditional Carbonara pasta with a lower-fat take as our main course. We're not using cream, eggs or butter here at all and instead extra virgin olive oil and a little bit of onions and chicken broth are giving it depth. Turkey bacon is the star of the show here so it's really light. A little bit of parmesean cheese dressed it up. Delicious!  We did not miss the extra calories.
Dijon mustard and a Lemon Garlic Olive Oil Vinaigrette added the wow factor to the salad at Patsy's. Chopped lettuce, tomato, pimentos and mixed greens had a nutritious party that will delight all palates.
Some strawberries and cream and the takeout was complete! Then Peachy dashed out to a movie....
You KNOW Patsy's is Terrific Takeout.
