According to Peachy Deegan, pizza is one of the four food groups! (The others are champagne, chocolate and lobster, right?) We are always delighted to discover new spots of excellence that execute the craft of pizza to an artisan degree, and Pizzetteria Brunetti is the latest and greatest to us in this realm.  A father and son team created this spot (which you will know if you are one to go out east) and for our salad, we tried the
Caprese di Burrata.  Every bite of that creamy burrata was pure ecstasy: i
mported creamy burrata cheese from Bari, heirloom tomatoes and basil finished with EVOO was a great inauguration into this restaurant.  The tomatoes were succulent and properly ripe and be aware that not everywhere serves fresh tomatoes like this in the dead of winter.  Only the best!  Only the places we find laudable.
Pizza alla Nicola was a convincing follow up to the solid start.  If you like truffles and you like pizza, you are bound to desire this.  (Do we actually have readers that don't like truffles and pizza?  If so, you are missing out.)  Imported hay smoked Bufala Mozzarella, burrata (twice is nice!), black truffle carpaccio, sea salt, EVOO and fresh Italian parsley will wow you when combined like this.  If it was a little less smoky it would have been even better, but it was excellent.  The crust possessed ideal thinness.
Everyone seems to be talking about meatballs, but we only talk about the great ones.  Wouldn't you rather have great meatballs with the above two items than meatballs alone? (How sad!  We adore culinary items that belong to an all-star team.)  Please meet
Polpette alla Maria (Mary’s Meatballs), a family recipe that your taste buds will applaud even if you don't have the Brunetti genetics.
Mary Brunetti’s meatballs in a traditional San Marzano tomato ragu, fresh sheep’s milk ricotta and basil were our appetizer selection and we give them two thumbs up.  It is worth the pilgrimage downtown for the uptowners.

Pizzetteria Brunetti is Terrific Takeout!
