If you think our national intelligence is difficult now, imagine it 240 years ago with zero technology and ten times the cunning and wits of what people have today! That is all they had, and the bare bones of the origins of the spy discipline is absolutely exciting.  Since time travel is not yet available, tune into AMC!  We would love to see what one of Washington's spies could do with the today's electronics paired with their pure sixth sense....! If you haven't started, you need to start watching TURN on AMC. You are going to LOVE IT. We are absolutely thrilled to kick off coverage of AMC. (Maybe the CIA and FBI should take a look at what is done here...brilliant execution of dedication and loyalty in TURN!)

Season Two begins in England with George. No not the new George with his baby sister Charlotte, who charmed the world this past weekend with their photoshoot by Princess Kate. The old one-King George-you know, the one that lost the biggest war in England's history-the one that was on the receiving end of the Declaration of Independence. He possesses quite the temper which a brilliant American is able to capitalize on. The English hate how they lost us... (but we still love their shoes-check out Lotus oldest in the world! Your feet do NOT want to declare independence from England.)

Manhattan even is a character in this series, as protagonist and key spy Abraham comes here to "study law." They call it York City. As in the Duke of York of course. Columbia is in it, but it's called King's College. (Kind of like how Offaly was called King's County. The DEEGANS are from County Offaly.) This series is brilliantly based on a book by Alexander Rose that we have yet to read or review (Alex are you actively Tweeting?!?). The series hits on all high points of colonial America from Philadelphia to New Jersey to Connecticut (obviously where the treasure is!).

The last time we were so excited about a series was a few years ago when we flipped on the tv and saw Matthew boarding a train and Lady Mary giving him a token stuffed animal to take to war. That series was called Downton Abbey and sadly as that winds down, we are glad to tell you about this one. And, it's even AMERICAN. We don't have to envy the English on this one!

But guess what. If you took our advice and watched Bleak House by the BBC, which we have watched many times over and over now because we love it (and have read the Dickens book as well), you will be so happy to see that GUPPY is in TURN.  We love Guppy and Burn is an equally strong character in Turn.

You'll meet the predecessor to to the Xerox machine by Thomas Jefferson, and you'll have a renewed appreciation for America itself and how it came to be.

Our only regret is that we were not able to tell you about this sooner! Turn Season Two all Ten Episodes are Highly Recommended by Whom You Know!

(Remember Lucy in Peanuts being in or out at her advice stand? Here, Peachy is out until she sees Season One inbetween the Blackhawks! She's started.  Once you start, you cannot stop. We were trying to get Season Two published before it aired in entirety so we watched it backwards. If you can, watch it forwards! And, we are desperate for Season Three so hopefully that has been negotiated successfully.)

TURN: Washington's Spies takes viewers into the stirring and treacherous world of the Revolutionary War and introduces Abraham Woodhull who, after aligning with a group of childhood friends, forms the Culper Ring – America's first spy ring. Season one ended as Abe’s dangerous balance of fighting for what he believes in while keeping the violence of war far away from his family collapsed, and he was forced to burn his home to the ground to cover up the murder of a British soldier who discovered he was a spy. Season two will dive deeper into the twists, turns, victories and betrayals of a shadow war waged behind enemy lines, pitting the cunning agents of King George against the intrepid and inventive spies serving General George Washington.

As the second season opens, the Patriot cause has suffered the crushing loss of their capital city of Philadelphia to the British. Washington’s army faces desertion and death, and the embattled General faces conspirators from within his own ranks, as well as personal demons he keeps hidden from the men he leads. Washington's closest ally in these dark times is also his most celebrated battle commander, Benedict Arnold – a friend whose growing discontent will threaten the fate of the Revolution. Outnumbered and outgunned on the battlefield, Washington is counting on his ring of young spies and his greatest hope, Abe Woodhull, a lone civilian deep behind enemy lines, who finds he has little left to lose and is willing to risk everything he has left... including his soul.
