Continuing along our farm-to-table local theme that we recently featured with Monument Lane, we are pleased to present the newest feature on The Marshal.
We first discovered The Marshal in December 2013:
and we were pleased, so we returned for a Peachy's Picks feature:
It had been awhile so we were delighted to return in early 2015!
Unfortunately, this was our only Marshal without THE Marshall; to us, it's not really The Marshal without Charlie!
Charlie, we were so disappointed to miss you this time!
The farm sides of The Marshal are absolutely spectacular, and we look forward to trying them on each visit as they change with the seasons in keeping with their local philosophy.  This time we tried the Satur Farms Sweet Potato and Kale Au Gratin and the Hepworth Farm Acorn Squash mashed with cream and "Farm"esan cheese.  You never knew vegetables could be so delicious...both were truly spectacular.
We love the selection as well; there are 15 to choose from.  For a place the size of The Marshall (it's tiny) they go above and beyond to offer you a lot of choices.

We always want a green salad, and we were tremendously impressed with the Three Kale Salad we tried, and they listened and put the dressing on the side (guess who hates almost all salad dressing.)  The freshness of the vegetables really shone through and Satur Farms curly green, purple and Tuscan kale teamed up with toasted hazelnuts and microgreens.  The dressing: garlic aioli, was good and Peachy is a huge advocate of everything garlic.
As an appetizer, we chose the Wood Oven Roasted New Jersey Scallops, which hit the spot.  Bourbon planked NJ scallops wrapped in Hudson Valley duck bacon were a total delight with Beth's Farm Kitchen sour cherry preserves.
Finally, continuing along our bacon theme (we hope all of our Twitter followers that announce they follow bacon specifically read this) we chose the Berkshire Bacon Wrapped Pork Loin as an entree.  Entirely succulent and as delicious as it appears to the eye above, this entree was just killer.  Oven roasted pork loin, stuffed with Vermont Blue Cheese, Lyn Oakery Orchards Apples and local walnuts is served in a honey molasses glaze with DeMeyer Farm  maple-roasted butternut squash.  The Marshal also gets points for their totally descriptive and detailed menu down to the brand names, which you know someone here would ask about if they were not printed...!

The Marshal continues to be Terrific Takeout.
Tell Charlie that Peachy sent you...
