The first thing you should know about Anthi's Greek Food is that it truly is a Takeout Place.  Usually, we review fine dining initially in this column and also do updates in this column, and not all of those places will do takeout for you (we believe they all should-some people have to work late and eat at their desk.)  Anthi's is only takeout and we found the quality of the Greek comfort food to be fantastic and worthy of a tablecloth kind of restaurant.  This venue also aims to be healthy which is not always a focus for us, but a goal we welcome.  This is of course inspired by the Mediterranean, and has been open since November 2010.
Anthi and her little brother George.  George, please tell us when you have a restaurant too.

Located on the Upper West Side, Anthi's is named after the daughter of owner Paul Likitsakos.  We began with an absolutely delicious Tzatziki spread, and you should know their spreads/salads have greek yogurt as a base which is amazingly creamy and delicious.  You are going to love it and become addicted to it!
Above, is Taramosalata, a decedent creamy mixture of caviar and yogurt and below, a Beet Salad which is also yogurt-based.  All three of these are perfect with Pita, and as you know Peachy is an English Muffin monster-ONLY THOMAS'S!- (she's not Greek), she found them to be just as good on those also or bagels.  The Taramosalata is rich and a bit salty as you would expect and is nicely balanced out by the other two so we enjoyed putting one on one half and another on another half and eating a bite of each at a time.  Also we loved the brilliant Hallak pink of the Beet Salad.
They also have a delicious vegetable salad: the Greek Country Salad.  This is exactly the kind of thing we are looking for in our green salad component of the review and every component was gloriously fresh.  Do not let the casual nature or small space here fool you.  This cuisine is seriously amazing.
Moussaka is a traditional Greek dish that will kind of remind you of lasagna if you have never had it before, but it is unique and satisfying in its own right.   This is a dish for the carnivorously-inclined as it boasts meat, and we enjoyed it.
If you have not had spinach pie, what are you waiting for?  This is one of our most favorite Greek dishes, and the Spanakopita at Anthi's did not disappoint!  Every bite had terrific spinach.  We can also attest to the authenticity at Anthi's; Paul's parents Anna and George came from Greece: Pireaus and Corinth, respectively.  We hear George is also in food...Finally, we tried a Chicken Fillo Pie which definitely trumps any chicken pot pie we have ever had as it is more moist and flavorful, and also substantial.
Anthi, we look forward to meeting you someday and look forward to you running this place!  (She's 12 now...)
