"The rolling green hills of Ireland have turned into shades of golden and crimson and fragrant fall flavors dominate our menu at Kings' Carriage House this season," owner Paul Farrell tells us.
Kings' Carriage House is the best place you haven't been to yet if you actually haven't been there (and why on earth not!  We have been singing its praises for many years) and if you have been, you'll feel like it's a home away from home.
Kings' Carriage House was most recently featured this past spring:
Kings' Carriage House was first featured in April 2011:
In Spring 2014, we announced in Peachy's Picks it was the best dinner we had that spring:
You'll be graciously greeted at the door by Owner Paul Farrell with his fabulous Dublin accent, and you'll notice everything is pristine and perfect right down to the warm roll with fresh butter spheres.  Paul is so into freshness, he changes his menu every day and you know that because the date is at the top of the menu.  We cannot think of another person in Manhattan that changes their menu EVERY DAY.  The Prix Fixe menu has three courses, and we began with the terrifically fresh Grilled Shrimp Salad.
It really is this attractive-we never edit the pictures.  With four shrimp grilled to perfection, this salad boasts a lovely arrangement and is a beacon to the Wild Atlantic Way (even if Paul and Dublin are from the East Coast of Ireland).  Delicate Frisee is the base for this salad and is ideally punctuated by the slightest hint of red onion, lovely to give the salad flavor and kick.  The orange vinaigrette reminded us why we love the salad dressing of Kings' Carriage House and the citrus burst added another laudable dimension to this creation.
The main we found calling our name the loudest this visit was the Grilled Prime Filet Mignon.
This towering arrangement arrives in style and is full of fantastic fall flavor.  After you disassemble the tower of white asparagus with succulent bacon, you'll discover how ideally the filet mignon is seared as it dances in a decadent demi-glace of red wine.  Every bite is pure luxury.  Note that Kings' Carriage House is a place you want to stay and eat at and like many other venues are only doing takeout for us.
The final course, dessert, you absolutely cannot miss because the desserts here are among the best in Manhattan.  Where do you think Peachy ate her birthday dessert?!?!  Amazing for fall is the juicy warm apple blackberry crumble with IRISH oatmeal crust highlighted with a ginger creme anglaise.  Studies show this yields sweet dreams as well.
Kings' Carriage House continues to be Highly Recommended!
