So, inquiring minds have been wanting to know, what was it exactly that Cozy in Navy was dining upon created by Charlie Marshall at The Marshal?
More on Navy Cozy by Paul Mayer Attitudes:
Manhattan, it is cold.  It is wet.  It is dreary.
The best way to make you feel like you are sitting on a beach in Florida instead is to get a new pair of these shoes and march yourself to The Marshal for dinner.  We dream about the wood oven french loaf for days baked daily served with freshly homemade butter before we get there.  Order it, because it doesn't come automatically.
You may think: Deviled Eggs are so easy to make at home, why on earth would I order them at a restaurant?  You would here because they are CHARLIE'S DEVILED EGGS.  Sullivan County Farms Deviled Eggs present a bright beginning to dinner with their garlic pesto infused yolks, crispy duck prosciutto, fried carrots, micro scallion, garlic pesto and walnut pesto.  Many times with lesser venues dishes that have this much going on can spell trouble for your tastebuds nevermind your digestive system (the place that gave Peachy food poisoning for a week recently is really lucky she is not publishing on them) but you can be assured that at The Marshal, interesting flavors together meld well and you will be wowed.  Charlie does not overdo it although he always makes it interesting!
One of our most favorite salads in Manhattan is the Three Kale Salad.  It is so well chopped.  Black Horse Farm Curly Green, Tuscan, and Redbor Kale waltz with toasted hazelnuts, micro bull's blood greens and phenomenal, no, ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL watermelon radishes.  And, Ms. I Don't Like Most People's Salad Dressing did in fact like this salad dressing.  Garlic Aioli reigns supreme.
Before we start with this one, we'd like to apologize to Miss Piggy.
From every angle, Orange Brandy Braised Local Slab Bacon is gorgeous.
The brandy itself is a brilliant accent, and the bacon is hugely tender and just melts in your mouth.  This is a total must and the star of the show is the bacon.  On the side is green and red cabbage, rice wine vinegar and pickled red onion.  Cozy in Navy liked this so much it oinked.  Do your shoes do that?!
This is the first time we've brought shoes here...other Paul Mayer Attitudes have visited Marcony.
But Peachy has been going here for awhile!
The Marshal was last featured last summer:
We might have been the first to formally write a review of this venue when it opened in 2013:
and it joined the ranks of Peachy's Picks in 2014:
It is on our Best Restaurants List for 2018:
Wood Oven Mac n Cheese is the ultimate in comfort food during the winter.  It boasts a fabulous crust on top and the pasta is corkscrew, one of our favorite pasta shapes.  You will fall in love with the hearty goodness enhanced by thick cut bacon and Pennsylvania swiss cheese.
The cast iron is also a nice touch.
Few venues do vegetables as well as The Marshal.
A new item: Roasted Shishito peppers!
Five peppers sing to you acapella with notes of herb butter and bacon dotted with sea salt.
Also new are the roasted Snow White mushrooms!
Seven dwarves are not included.
Delicate, dainty and delicious, they taste every bit as good as they look.  Herb butter and white wine come to the mushroom soiree successfully.
The Green Beans achieve a perfect balance of crisp yet cooked with their smashing flavor of garlic herb butter and caramelized lemon that yields quite the fragrant aroma.  Green beans are Peachy's favorite green vegetable and the more garlic, the better.
We just saw all the other Manhattan mashed potatoes go to a corner and cower when they saw these.  Meet our favorite: Roasted mashed potatoes with New York Cheddar and thick cut bacon.  They taste like a dream and are another weapon in Charlie's arsenal of comfort food to conquer your winter hunger.  Obviously Charlie must be Irish too.
Meet Black Beauty!
Molasses and Bourbon BBQ Pork Ribs are uber hearty for a cold winter's day and arrive in style with local cabbage and kale slaw.  Every bite is impressive.
Not to be outdone is the Bourbon Planked Arctic Char, an amazing entree.
You are not going to know how much you adore chermoula sauce until you meet it!  Baby arugula, fresh lemon, and hazelnuts further announce the total freshness of this dish.
Finally, do not ignore the New England Clam Chowder!  Charlie is one of the few in Manhattan that can get the New England aspect right even though his clams are NOT from New England (maybe next time?)-they are from New Jersey.  Celery, carrots, potatoes, bacon and heavy cream are in perfect proportion culminating in a rich, delicious chowder.
Be certain to save room for the Apple Cobbler!!!
Stay tuned for the next episode of the Charlie Marshall hit parade at The Marshal!
