Terrific Takeout: Il Riccio!

Il Riccio is a classy little Italian spot just off Lexington on 79th and until last night, we hadn't been there before.  Let us tell you, we can't wait to go back.  The chicken parmesean was a special request by Peachy Deegan, and it was outstanding.  A perfectly thin disc of chicken heaven was lightly breaded and had just the right touch of marinara and mozzarella to join the chicken parm party.  You can tell this is a real Italian place as they didn't just throw in some ziti-what a cliche!-some fabulously fresh spinach sauteed in garlic was the side.  WE LOVE GARLIC!

Crabmeat salad with fresh arugula was incredibly innovative in an oversaturated market of insalata mistas at Italian places.  We just love crab in all shapes and forms, and paired with cancer-fighting vegetables, it's the perfect way to get Peachy to eat her salad.  Mario Benforte suggested the lemon meringue and it was so refreshing in the depth of winter.  You might think you would want something comforting like warm chocolate cake, but you should listen to Mario.

Peachy isn't even Italian, but judging from recent reviews you might think she is.
