Bond, Peachy Bond: Westside Rifle and Pistol Range Since 1964 at 20 West 20th Street in Manhattan Continues to Be Highly Recommended by Whom You Know!

Baby, it is cold outside but that doesn't mean everything is cold here.
In fact, it's just heating up at Bond, Peachy Bond where Peachy Deegan returned to the one and only shooting range in Manhattan, Westside Rifle and Pistol Range owned by our friend, Darren Leung.  He was first featured in 2017, and we were delighted to see him again.

As Manhattan residents know only too well, it is a jungle out there.  Though it would be terrific if we could just hire James Bond to hang out with us all the time, sadly he's probably not available and knowing how to use a gun is good to know, especially in this crazy world we live in.

You've got to be your own James Bond in life.
Everyone knows James Bond has perfect aim, and it's high time Peachy sharpened her skills and you should learn too because it is good to know how to use a gun. That is why we went.  Knowing how to use a gun is empowering, useful and when you have teachers as brilliant at Darren and John.

This time, we worked with Manager John Aaron as our teacher.  John is pictured below with Peachy.  John began his career at Westside Rifle and Pistol Range in the early 2000s and this trip, he taught Peachy how to use a Ruger 77/357 Bolt Action Rifle with Large Caliber .38 Special Bullets.  It holds five bullets, and it's made in the USA.  You load the magazine that holds up to 5 bullets, and you have to do this exactly right.  If you pay attention and have good hand/eye coordination, we think you will be successful.  Peachy shot the first 15 from 15 feet away, and the next 35 from 25 feet away.  As you can see from the below results, John is a phenomenal teacher because this is only the second time Peachy has ever shot, and obviously Darren taught her the first time equally phenomenally.

If you think you have done everything in Manhattan, you might not have done this yet!
Also we hear it makes a great date activity...
John says Peachy's shot is deadly!

DeNiro in Taxi was here!

This venue began in 1965 when two business partners started it at this location.  In 1989, Darren Leung began in law enforcement and started as an instructor.  In 1994, Darren became a co-owner which continued until 2004, when he became the sole owner of Westside Rifle and Pistol Range.  Today there are six full-time employees here and as long as you pass the background check, you can learn how to shoot a rifle.  It is the only public shooting range in Manhattan.  It has passed all regulations of ATF (Alcohol Tobacco Firearms), NYPD, New York State and the FBI and we saw every aspect of safety being adhered to carefully.  This venue is popular with law officers, rifle members, now Peachy and possibly you.  Everyone shoots together and it is a friendly, collegial environment.  There are sixteen points to shoot from.    Not only does Darren have this range but he also sells guns and is licensed by the government to do that as well.

This is extremely fun and you will get an adrenaline rush!  Do not go too quickly; try to learn how to line everything up correctly to get the best result.  You move the target further away as you get better.   Here are some other people you know that have been here!

In NYC and the five boroughs, a civilian cannot shoot/use/rent a HANDGUN or PISTOL without having a NYC Handgun License issued by NYPD License Division.
