NIGHTLIGHT: Jenna Esposito Performs at Feinstein's at Loews Regency March 22nd to an Enthusiastic Crowd-Esposito Highly Recommended by Whom You Know

Anything boys can do, girls can do better.  Jenna Esposito reinforced that statement last night as she performed hits by one of our most favorite: Frank Sinatra, along with other hits by Tony Bennett, Dean Martin and many others who dined at Patsy's.  We can't see Frank anymore but even if we could, he would sound better with Jenna doing a duet!  Her clearcut talent, her timeless style, her ability to connect with her audience and her overall presentation have sold us on Jenna Esposito.   And it did not hurt that she wore a green dress-our celebration of St. Patrick's Day is year-round!

Jenna began with a bang with Tony Bennett's Steppin' Out With My Baby, engaging the crowd from the minute she began.  In Rags to Riches we were impressed with her strength on holding long notes, and she was also strong on her renditions of Memories Are Made Of This as well as Everybody Loves Somebody.  She would have made Connie Francis proud once again with her take on Where the Boys Are.  Esposito's command of her crescendo and decrescendo are among the most remarkable aspects of her talent, and of course her ability to hit anything quite high!  We often admire that.  She even sang some songs in Italian, but we can't comment much on those as our translator had the night off last night.

The reason why we have written only twenty-something posts on music out of over 3,200 is because we find very little that is of high enough quality to tell you about.  Jenna Esposito is pure talent.  We know it when we see it-of everything we critique, singing is something that Peachy Deegan actually did herself so perhaps that is why we are more critical- she has studied voice, performed the national anthem at a major sports event with her group in front of thousands, and made a tape years ago.  We personally appreciate it when someone sings well!

Esposito brings a new generation of Rat Pack to Manhattan.  Her singing was obviously the central part of the show, but talented musicians surrounded her: Fortune Esposito (Musical Director, Guitar), David Crone (Piano), Brian DeWitt (Drums), Grammy-award winning Skip Ward (Bass), and Brian Broelmann (Tenor Sax, Mandolin, Accordion and Ukulele).  We hope she performs here again.  The total event was top-notch as of course Loews Regency is just fabulous.  Every detail was attended to and we thought the lighting was especially good.  Esposito eloquently related dialogue about Patsy's throughout the evening and her statistical knowledge was on target.  Her story about how Dean Martin knocked the Beatles out of the #1 spot in 1964 with Everybody Loves Somebody was well-told.

We were pleased to see our Mover and Shaker Sal Scognamillo:

...and we hope to review Patsy's in Peachy's Picks!

A gracious and stunning performance by Jenna Esposito at Feinstein's-highly recommended by Whom You Know.  All in attendance could not have had a better rainy Monday night in Manhattan!

We are counting down the days until Will and Anthony Nunziata are featured:
