Emilio Estefan is one of the most successful producers the music industry has experienced. His passion, unquestionable faith, and ability to keep alive his Latin roots in everything he does, have made Emilio's vision a trademark, a unique sound and a symbol of credibility and prestige. As a true visionary, Emilio has continually experimented and pushed the envelope of blending Latin, pop and world rhythms that have created a unique style and personality.  This vision transcends the music field and spills over into film, television, hotels and restaurants, among other endeavors.    Emilio has been instrumental in shaping, developing and directing the careers of his superstar wife, Gloria as well as Shakira, Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Jon Secada, Alejandro Fernandez, Thalia, Carlos Vives, and Jennifer López, among many others.  His ability to connect with their talent, expression and creativity has been vital in establishing a musical presence second to none. His resume includes over 30 Grammy nominations and 19 Grammy Awards.  Emilio is one of the few producers that produce television events for both General Market and Hispanic Market television. After a quarter of a century producing music for some of the biggest and brightest stars in the music business, Emilio has also put his indelible vision in the television and movie industry.  The Latin Grammy’s on CBS, the Hispanic Heritage Awards on NBC and Nuestra Navidad on Univision, as well as high profile musical productions on HBO and Showtime.  His credibility and professionalism are some of the powerful reasons why he is viewed as an Ambassador in the world of cross-over business.  In 2002 President George W. Bush appointed Emilio as a member of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities and he has produced many historical musical events at the White House.  Most recently he was tapped by President Barack Obama to the committee that will create the first National Museum of the American Latino.

Gloria Estefan, a music superstar both in English and in Spanish, has never forgotten her heritage, her roots and the island where she was born. When she was 18, Gloria Estefan was invited to sing at a wedding with a local band called Miami Latin Boys and that beginning would change her life. This was the beginning of a music superstar, both in English and Spanish, selling over 90 million records worldwide. She has recorded 24 albums, earned five Grammy Awards, was the first female pop star to sing at the Vatican and perform for Pope Paul, was the first Hispanic female songwriter to be named BMI’s Songwriter of the Year, received an Oscar nomination for her theme song of the movie, “Music of the Heart”, was named Latin Grammy Person of the Year, has received innumerable awards and distinctions and has become an icon the world over.

Her new CD, “90 Millas” (90 Miles), featuring the #1 HIT single ‘No Llores’ is a return to her heritage . . . her roots.  Releasing on September 18th, “90 Millas” was produced by Grammy winning producer Emilio Estefan, a driving force behind Latin music in the United States. The CD is a collection of 14 original songs in Spanish that pay tribute to the roots of Cuban music, while at the same time injecting a modern sensibility to the traditional rhythms.

The CD pays homage to the world’s most influential and respected musicians in Latin music history. Among the artists that join Gloria on this project are  multiple GRAMMY award winner Carlos Santana; the legendary Johnny Pacheco, referred to by many as “salsa’s godfather;” trumpet virtuoso Alfredo “Chocolate” Armenteros; conga diva Sheila E.; actor and musician Andy Garcia; GRAMMY  winner Cachao, considered the  maestro and creator of the mambo; Papo Lucca, Generoso Jiménez, Cándido Camero, Giovanni Hidalgo, Paquito D' Rivera, La India, GRAMMY winner José Feliciano Nelson Gonzáles, Juanito Márquez, Luis Enrique, GRAMMY winner, Arturo Sandoval, Paquito Hechevarría, Orestes Vilato and Salvador Cuevas.

The collaboration of musicians on “90 Millas” is historically significant on various levels: it is the first time, and possibly the last, that all these legendary artists will play together on one CD. The first single, ‘No Llores’ (Don’t Cry), features performances by Carlos Santana, Sheila E. and José Feliciano, in one of the record’s most incredible collaborations.   “I've always said how much Santana and Feliciano mean to me professionally and personally,” said Gloria,   “and how the barriers they broke down and the doors that they opened allowed us to walk through when we brought our Latin sound worldwide.” And having Sheila on the song makes it even that much  more special to me. . . the song is very celebratory in nature meaning no matter what life throws at you,  you know not to cry over it, but rather look at it in a positive way.”

"We are proud to honor Emilio and Gloria Estefan with a star on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars", said Bob Alexander, President of the Las Vegas Walk of Stars. STAR VODKA is a proud sponsor of The Las Vegas Walk Of Stars.
