So you know all about Carolyn O'Keefe and her creative ideas which have translated into the resounding success of American Estate Jewelry.  Although this is our inaugural review of American Estate Jewelry, we have a feeling this is only the beginning of something amazing!

It's only been a week, but Peachy Deegan has received a myriad of compliments on her Daisy Cuff by American Estate Jewelry!
Including this morning, when she had breakfast at Henri Bendel with L'Artisan Parfumeur....At the turn of the century, American silver was admired for its romantic expression, unmistakable quality, bold designs from nature and, above all, pure beauty. Flowers were a design influence and a classic motif. We love the classics at Whom You Know, and this is a Modern Classic that will be treasured by you today and future generations down the road.  Why you would wear any jewelry that would not be intended as a heirloom, we do not know.

The Daisy Cuff is absolutely stunning!  We are sure it will be a big hit with Ancients all around the world and students today as well.  Of course Peachy Deegan is a proud Ancient, and a former four-year senior who even served a term on the Alumnae Board and was one of the youngest when she did...but you don't have to have a diploma from Miss Porter's School to enjoy this cuff.  You do however, need to have exquisite taste, and all of our readers have that!

We suggest wearing it close to your hand before your watch on the left side, when you have your charm bracelets or diamond tennis bracelet on your right hand, or on your right hand when you are wearing less jewelry.  To really dress it up, buy and wear two, one on each arm!  Seriously, we cannot get enough of these and we have never featured a cuff before.  Actually, Peachy never wore cuffs but as of this week she is!  She wears her Boston College watch, her Boston College ring, her MPS ring, diamond earrings and the rest she mixes up.  Now with the Daisy cuff, her schools are more equal on her arms!  These cuffs are available in a multitude of designs including a stunning sunflower, a cheerful cherry blossom, and another called the girl afield cuff for the horsey set.  Carolyn really impresses us so she has been invited to be a Mover and Shaker, and we were lucky to meet her earlier this week when she graced New York with her Baltimore presence.  Of course, she is a former Upper Eastsider...!

Read about Repousse:http://www.americanestatejewelry.com/art.html  Everyone will bask in your knowledge of your fabulous cuff and the history of how it's made.  American Estate Jewelry debuts with a series of seven sterling silver cuffs lined in gold. Hand-chased from the finest sterling silver, the collection reclaims the difficult to master repousse method which creates a lavish sculptural cuff of distinction. Traditionally, sterling bracelets were worn often, developing an heirloom patina, and passed on through the decades from mother to daughter, whereupon a term was coined: The Forever Cuff.

Worn with a silk sheath or casual attire, these are timeless and classic pieces of perfect taste meant to be worn daily. Over time with regular wear, the piece will reveal individual variations in exterior shine and interior burnish, that make the treasured cuff exclusively and personally yours.

All American Estate Jewelry is superbly crafted in the United States.  We love that and Whom You Know is proud to support quality American brands like American Estate Jewelry.

About the designer:
Michael Galmer established Galmer Silversmiths in Long Island City, New York, in 1981. Word of his quality silverwork quickly grew and soon after, a prominent luxury retailer turned to him to create a silver line exclusively for them. Soon, other fine stores recognized the limitless capabilities of Galmer Silversmiths, and Galmer's reputation for talent and technical brilliance grew.

Over the years, Galmer perfected his techniques and invented new, entirely unique modes of silver making. He and his workshop became legendary for his custom silver creations which were primarily made for a knowledgeable silver connoisseur who wanted personal and one-of-a-kind pieces.

Galmer Silversmiths was commissioned in 1996 to recreate the historic punch bowl of the Battleship Oklahoma which was built in 1916 and sunk, along with 400 men in the battle of Pearl Harbor in 1946. The bowl was not aboard the ship at the time and, when found, was put to constant ceremonial use, jeopardizing the important antique relic. In a painstaking labor of love, the silver master adhered to the original details, even replicating the bowl's original scratches from shipboard use. Today, the original is showcased safely in the Oklahoma Historical Society, and Michael Galmer's extraordinary replica is exhibited with pride at the Governor's Mansion.

Michael Galmer is one of the only artisans who still employs repousse techniques today. His work for Tiffany & Co., other exemplary retailers and private collectors is of unquestionable distinction. American Estate Jewelry is deeply honored to have Michael Galmer creating special works of heirloom quality for a new generation of sterling silver jewelry collectors…and generations beyond.
