Terrific Takeout: Canyon Road

Canyon Road is an outstanding southwestern gem located on the Upper East side, and Peachy Deegan just had her first experience there and it was fabulous.  She began with the Spicy Peanut Shrimp shown above with fried plantains over a crispy blue tortilla, and if you are a fan of both shrimp and peanuts you will love this starter.
If you love chicken quesadillas, you are really going to love them at Canyon Road because they also have roasted mushrooms in them!  They were so soft and flavorful they will totally melt in your mouth, and we have yet to see better chicken quesadillas in Manhattan.
For an entree, Executive Chef Ruperto Ramirez really hit one out of the park.  The grilled salmon served over rice with scallops and vegetables in a white wine caldito verde was fresh, flavorful and healthy!  Every bite was a burst of southwestern delight and we particularly loved the scallops.  A side of spinach made the meal complete and we were beyond impressed!  General Manager Diane was a total peach to meet also.  Even if you don't think you like southwestern cuisine, we suggest that you will develop an affinity for it the moment your Canyon Road experience begins!
