Peachy Picks Fatty Fish

You would be hard-pressed to find a Chef alive anywhere who is as creatively talented as Chef Roy Lamberty.  And the hit parade our fabulous panel experienced at Fatty Fish evidenced this truth.  Menu items that you have never heard of grace this menu and when you try them, you will be surprised at how much you love what you did not know about before.
Another bonus?  You cannot beat the price.
Though we are not at all price sensitive, you should know that this is one of the best deals in town.
We began with the Heirloom Tomato and Mozzarella Salad.
If we hear you yawning, hold your horses.  We haven't told you about the dressing yet.
That is the dressing.   As we are of course critics we tried drinking it, because they do not have The Peachy Deegan to drink at Fatty Fish right now anyway...
But in all seriousness, you will not believe how fresh and fantastic the Apple Black Vinegar dressing is!  You probably have never had it before.  That is the unique flavor of Fatty Fish.
We next ventured onto the Singaporean Stuffed Roti Prata.
It was spicy with just the right kick filled with spinach, shrimp, water chestnut and shredded carrot.  We knew we'd enjoy ourselves here because Fatty Fish was first featured in Terrific Takeout:
and then Tasty Tidbits:
And, we are now pleased to see it has graduated to Peachy's Picks.
If you've never heard of Japanese Eggplant and Wild Mushroom Lasagna with spicy shredded pork sauce, you need to try it.
And the sangria hit the spot.
The best aspect of Fatty Fish for Peachy Deegan were the Spicy Lemongrass Steamed Mussels.  You know she loves seafood and when she sees seafood she eats it!
With coconut lemongrass broth, they were a perfect summer delight.
Also delightful was the upbeat personality of Young Takashi!

You know when she takes a lot of pictures of something, she really loves it.
She is a big fan of cooked seafood, and brought one of our best sushi experts along.
They next tried the Mediterranean Roll special which had inside: spicy tuna, cucumber, red peppers; and outside: couscous, marinated white anchovy, and mint sauce.
Look at how terrific it looks:
 Our esteemed panelist adds:
I have never been to Fatty Fish, and actually have not heard of it but it is a diamond in the rough on the east side!  You know Peachy loves the east side and she found it just past first avenue...I eat sushi quite often and consider myself an expert on the difference between fair, good and excellent sushi, and not only was this high quality, but on the unique scale this was an 11 on a scale of one to ten.  I have never seen couscous in sushi and it was amazing!
This change of pace was wonderful and from dish to dish the spiciness was just right; it was enough to impress but not too much where it killed the food.
The Apple Black Vinegar dressing I loved, and every course showed us how Chef Roy has an imagination that is not available to most Chefs.  I have never seen so many new menu inventions ever.    Pricewise, you also cannot beat Fatty Fish.  Very reasonably priced, with this menu you could make a meal out of just their appetizers.
The lasagna was fantastic and again, very creative.  It was the only heavy aspect of this meal and it nicely balanced out the other choices.  I am Italian and this lasagna rivals some of the great Italian versions I have had and every component mixed well together.
The desserts were fun and refreshing!
