READ THIS: Eloise in Hollywood by J. David Stern and David N. Weiss, Illustrated by Ted Enik

Previously, we loved The Ultimate Eloise:

We absolutely cannot get enough of her and turn today to the West Coast...with the latest and greatest: Eloise in Hollywood!   Whom You Know highly recommends it.

We went looking for Eloise at The Rose Club at The Plaza when we reviewed that: http://www.whomyouknow.com/2011/06/peachy-picks-rose-club-at-plaza-hotel.html
Eloise wasn't available that day as obviously she was in Hollywood, so we had Champagne with Executive Chef Willis Loughead which was fabulous....and then we came home and read Eloise in Hollywood, which is just fabulous, dahling.  It is a must must must read, and you'll meet Corky who is hot hot hot.  What sunglasses will Eloise wear in the heat of California?  That and much more awaits you readers, so go break a leg and read it!!!

The Petite Peachy Panel raves:

"Eloise in Hollywood" carries on the fine tradition of Kay Thompson's beloved Eloise. Written by J. David Stern and David N. Weiss and illustrated by Ted Enik, this book was authorized by Thompson's niece and nephew and was published in 2006, eight years after Thompson died. In this latest adventure, Eloise makes her first trip to Hollywood via train with her nanny. What ensues is, of course, a typical Eloise adventure! Eloise stays at the Hollywood Hills Hotel (only the best best best for Eloise), is cast in a film (she's a star star star) and decides she wants to be a director. In between all of these happenings, she is on the go go go...exploring, chatting, investigating and causing trouble! The story is said to be based on Hilary Knight's (original Eloise illustrator) 1957 visit to the set of Funny Face which starred Audrey Hepburn, Fred Astaire and Kay Thompson. This is a fun (but of course, dahling), fast read. Although a book for children, this story does have some more adult themes (smoking, drinking gin) than perhaps is appropriate for the 4-8 age group. Overall, Eloise is still just as grand as ever!

Oh, Eloise! How my class loves you, especially in Hollywood! We love how Eloise talks about California and movies in my classroom. We've done many Internet scavenger hunts to learn about California and Hollywood in particular. We also learn about what it takes to make moves and try to create our own movies. As a teacher, I love how Eloise can spark my students love of learning new things. We make movies about any and everything--all thanks to Eloise. I've told several colleagues about what kinds of ideas my students get and some of the movies we make because Eloise inspired us. Whenever we finish a lesson that Eloise inspires, I always hear students thanking her (more so for introducing them to Hollywood). I now have other teachers excited about introducing Eloise in Hollywood in their classrooms.

IF there was one place that Eloise could live outside of NYC, where would it be? Hollywood of course, Dawling. The lights, dress and action are a perfect fit for the one and only Eloise. Plus, you know she can make it in New York so she can make it anywhere. Even under the bright lights. From packing her finest outfits to multiple pairs of sunglasses, Eloise will be a prepared as can be. Hobnobbing with the super stars is in her blood. She hits the movie set with a bang and makers her mark literally everywhere. I do not know who was more excited. Me or my daughter? I can never get enough Eloise so a adding a new title to the mix is a 5 star hit.
