Peachy Picks Il Violino

The logo by Jorge Sicre!
He designed their logo when they began in 1993 featuring Seymour Wakschal the violinist and cellist Jasha Silberstein

Not only can you hear and see great art near Lincoln Center (or in it!) but you can also eat great art thanks to Il Violino.

Il Violino was first featured in Tasty Tidbits:
Il Violino has graduated to Peachy's Picks because of its fabulous cuisine, the care of the owners, the friendly neighborhood vibe and the historical significance of the building-you know who love love loves things like that-and we know you are all getting exciting for NY Landmarks at The Plaza on November 2.  We just love historical places.  Il Violino is in a historic building from the 1930's and we absolutely love the ceiling in particular so be sure to look up!
You know it must be good because eastsider Peachy ventured to the west side!
She began with the exquisite Indiva, above, a beautiful salad of endive, cherry tomato, avocado, parmigiano cheese flakes and lemon dressing.  Every component was fresh and delicious!  So crispy, the bonus is that though this is good for you it tastes great too.  Peachy Deegan sipped on a Tuscan Chianti (Gabbiano) during the meal which boasted fragrant aromas of violets and a fruity bouquet of red fruits.
The Scampi All'Arrabbiata was a complete dream and every bite was pure perfection.  Fettuccine with shrimp, chopped porcini mushroom and crushed red pepper in a brown truffle butter sauce will absolutely melt in your mouth.  All components were in prime ratios to each other and the result was culinary bliss.
And the chocolate gelato was the perfect ending!  Joined by a glass of port, of course.
If you are an enthusiast of Lincoln Center, you cannot help but notice everyone who's anyone has been here:
That is the guy in the logo!
Our esteemed panelist adds:
Antipasti: Caprese
An Italian classic. Juicy, ripe tomatoes and fresh mozzarella shine in this simple dish. A drizzle of pesto was the perfect compliment.
Secondi: Petto di Pollo, Chicken Piccata
One of my favorites when prepared well. And this was just right. A light sauce of butter, lemon and white wine sauteed with lightly breaded chicken. The capers added tons of flavor and made this an especially memorable meal.
Dolci: Torta al Cioccolato
Delicious. A chocolate lovers dream.
The Cabernet and Sambuca were the perfect choices for the meal and dessert course.
And not only was everything Il Violino did fabulous, but Concetta Tomei swung by at the end! We are so excited to see her in: http://www.lovelossonstage.com/
