Terrific Takeout: Claw

Who knew that West 23rd Street could look like a picturesque New England Coastal town at the peak of summer? No one was more surprised than Peachy Deegan to see this vision of peach peaking out at her as she happened to be on 23rd Street recently-opened for a month so far, we think Claw is going to kill it in Manhattan in a good way, especially for the neighborhood that they're in because we've never seen the likes of prep in Chelsea.  Chelsea was once incredibly prep-deprived but now we see ourselves flocking there.  They say they are bringing the Hamptons on their menu, but we think even better, they are like New England.  The lobster is coming from MAINE....So, they get a check for decor!  All hail to clean and preppy!
And we say we adore the name too.  Peachy has always had a friend named claw:
You see she was trained in eating at restaurants from quite a young age.
But how is the food? The absolute best takeout we have seen in a long time! Salads are fantastic, but when you add lobster to them that is as exciting to us as shoes handmade in Italy. We strongly suggest the chopped salad with incredibly crunchy and fresh iceberg lettuce, bacon lardons, tomato, haricots verts, corn and shallot vinaigrette: ADDING LOBSTER. Actually, we loved it so much just the way it was we didn't want to use any dressing but it does come with it.
And it also is attractive from the side:
And at an angle:
Yes, we were in love with that salad.
Introducing the NEW kind of SURF & TURF:
That is a lobster roll with bacon!
Incredibly creative, fantastic ingredients, a winner of a concept, go immediately there and try it.
It is their classic lobster roll with double smoked bacon lardons.
It's a good thing Peachy does not live on 23rd Street or she would eat this every day and never have hope of ever fitting into another cocktail dress again.
Daily shipments from Maine ensure that the lobster is fresh and delicious.
That's a little closer as it wanted to smile extra big for the camera.
Peachy Deegan writes on crabcakes more than anyone we know, so obviously she just had to try them.  They were light, delicious and packed with flavor!  The soft texture is unprecedented and for a place only a month old they're totally masters of the trade.
Hats off to owner Joseph Miller, his assistant Kelly and all the lovely lobsters!
CLAW IS ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDINGLY TERRIFIC TAKEOUT!
Go there today!
