READ THIS: Pop-Up London author/illustrator: Jennie Maizels

Pop up books have been my favorite since I was a little girl. It was so incredible to me how it worked and brought story lines to life. So of course the Pop-Up London book by Jennie Maizel gets great praise from me. As the cover says, this book has paper engineering by genius Richard Ferguson. The finale of Tower Bridge is incredible and you will open and close the page a million times, enjoying every one more and more. Both my daughter and I flipped all the flaps, open and closed each page and learned some interesting tidbits about London. So take a trip across the pond and have so much fun. This Mummy gives Pop-Up London a great big Bravo!

My four and a half year old son wanted to look at his "Pop-Up London" book by Jennie Maizels (paper engineering by Richard Ferguson) all on his own. I went in the other room while he sprawled out with his book. I started hearing, "Wow! Cool!" and then, "Mom! You have to come see this!" I complied with his request and when I walked in the room, the look on his face was priceless. He was completely in awe of this book. I sat down with him and we read it together. I have to say, I was pretty impressed myself! Having been to London many moons ago, it was really fun to see the sights in this book and to tell my son about them. "Pop-Up London" is a really, really fun read!!! After we finished reading, my son said he would like to "go to London tomorrow." If only we could!

If you are looking for the perfect book to help you teach your class, or your children about London, this book is it! It had so many different landmarks around London that students could research. We have recently been learning how to use an online encyclopedia, and this book was a perfect companion to help my students learn how to use it. Plus, pop up books are extremely popular in my room. They are coveted more so than other books. I can't believe such a book was able to get my students excited about learning. I had students coming up to me during recess wanting to read Pop Up London, or wanting to research it more on their own time. Many students even did more at home. If you want to get your students excited about learning how to do research, Pop Up London is the book for you.

Pop Up London is such a wonderful book! It really welcomes you to london via book! If you're ready for a tour well here it is! This book is very inviting. I love the large format and how you follow the river Thams and it winds through the capital. You get to see all the sights in 3-D pop up. It really is a very nice and inviting way to teach your child about another country. You get to read all you can about London in a fun way!
