BBC Home Entertainment Hits One Out of the Park with the Absolutely Fabulous 20th Anniversary Specials, Given Whom You Know's Highest Recommendation-Here's What We Think of Episode Three Our Coverage Sponsored by Paul Mayer Attitudes

Paul Mayer's luxuriously, comfortable designs keep women coming back for multiple -- even dozens -- of pairs. Classic, yet contemporary and always comfortable, his shoes are an addiction that we highly recommend because they are also ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS.
A staple of the Paul Mayer collection is the simple ballet-flat, with true ballerina construction for a perfect fit that comes in a variety of colors and materials. A cult favorite is the cozy, a flat with lavender-scent infused soles adding style and fragrance to collector's closets as Paul's designs emerge in sophisticated design incarnations season after season in the most incredible hues, textures and modern innovations in luxury footwear because we know firsthand how incredibly brilliant he is. Here are two recent hot numbers from the Paul Mayer hit parade:
Mayer founded the brand in 2004 with partner, Jeff Levy. All shoes in the line are manufactured in Spain’s Valencia region, along the Mediterranean coast by a skilled staff of 12 artisans. They craft each pair of shoes with an old-world attention to detail that includes in-house embroidery, quilting and stitching as well as custom tanned leather. This allows the brand to cater to each retailer’s specific demands in with timely and consistent alacrity, with orders completed in an unheard-of 3 to 5 weeks.
In 2011, Paul Mayer stepped out into Manhattan's Upper East Side with a new attitude, opening his flagship store at 1388 Third Avenue. The store which cleverly resembles a pink and black shoebox offers up to 150 shoe styles, including his popular ballerinas, exclusive designs and more. As an added bonus, shoppers have the chance of running into the designer, himself. Paul's sage shopping advice and style eye has made him the New York shoe lover's best kept secret. When not in New York, Paul can be found traveling to his myriad of stores across the country meeting his loyal clientele or vacationing in his favorite spot, the Royal Hawaiian on Waikiki Beach.

Absolutely Fabulous, where have you been all our lives? Sweet Dreams ARE made of these, and Eddy and Patsy are the only external PR people we EVER would hire. In this smashing 20th Anniversary Special by BBC Home Entertainment they will have you roll-on-the-floor laughing, and that is saying something for those from the country with a stiff upper lip. And we hope Eddy and Patsy themselves are reading us-and to entice them, we’d encourage a look at some Stella video we did far before we ever heard of them:

If you’ve never seen this show, it is a bit like an I Love Lucy comedy with a fashionable modern twist but there’s no Lucy and Ethel: it is all Eddy and Patsy and make no mistake: it is all-Brit in London. All Peachy Deegan can say is that she now wants to see the last 20 years that she’s missed and on the next special Eddy and Patsy do, we want them to come to Manhattan and hang out with Peachy because we think they are so totally still fresh and happening. And that’s an authentic opinion since we’ve never seen them other than these three episodes! We are dying to meet you plus we have champagne here for you to drink and even better, the Peachy Deegan cocktail of course!

Sport is all about the uniforms by Stella McCartney, right? With all of our coverage to minimize bulk in Underneath it All with all sorts of body-shaping products, you will know that Patsy is not wearing one we recommended as she gets ready for a visit from Michael Douglas. If you think you’d love a girl that wears gold and fur to the Olympics, Eddy is one to watch! And which sports are long and slow and which are short powerful bursts Patsy wants to know!? How could anyone throw out this duo? We are sure if Stella knew you, she’d love you Eddy! Our esteemed panel says:

The last episode on the DVD, called "Olympics," does not fail to live up to the series you have grown to love. In fact, I love how it pokes fun at the recent events going on in the UK! Connecting your favorite characters to the 2012 Olympics keeps them fresh and up-to-date! Not to mention, they are as hilarious as ever! Edina decides that with the games approaching she should rent her house out to a famous star. Once again, everything ends up a crazy, funny mess. As you watch this episode, you will hope it never ends! It will keep a smile on your face throughout. Once its finished, you will have to go back and watch all three episodes again, so that you don't have to say goodbye to your favorite characters from the UK! This episode finishes off the special in a hilarious farewell for now! Let's hope these girls come back again soon!

With all the hype this summer about the Olympics, I was beginning to become somewhat tired of it by the time it finished. After watching the previous 2 episodes on the 20th Anniversary Specials of Absolutely Fabulous, I couldn't wait to watch this one. I was so glad I did. I was in tears I was laughing so hard. These ladies put a spin on the Olympics as only they could. I had to have watched this episode 3 times and hearing something new each time. I don't want to give away much more because I'm afraid I'll ruin the surprise for someone else. I can't say enough good things about this episode. I am so glad the BBC Home Entertainment put together this anniversary special to introduce a new audience to these "Absolutely Fabulous" ladies. I would have never heard of them otherwise.

With the 2012 Olympics in London this year, it is only fitting that the ladies of Absolutely Fabulous get in the games, With Michael Douglas coming to rent Eddy’s house, they have many fabulous plans in place. From facebook to facelifts, they are holding nothing back. Trying to defy aging and preparing for his arrival, some of the lines sent me reeling. Just imagine what Swinging Salon Doors could be…Michael does not end of making the trip which sends Eddy into a tailspin. Sinking right back into her party girl behavior, Patsy is suffocated by her Spanx like control top. So BBC Home Entertainment really goes for the gold with this great third anniversary episode!

To know "Absolutely Fabulous" is to love "Absolutely Fabulous". And if you don't know "Absolutely Fabulous" (or Ab Fab, if you please), get to know it and soon! First making its appearance in 1992, "Absolutely Fabulous" was irreverent, edgy, and absolutely hilarious. After five series and one-time specials, the last being in 2003, Ab Fab is back. I am happy to report that it is still irreverent, edgy and absolutely hilarious. In the "Olympic" episode which aired on July 25, 2012, the ladies of Ab Fab are up to their usual antics. Edina has rented out her house to a Hollywood A-lister, but is still living in it along with Saffy, Gran and Bubble. Edina is unaware that the Olympics are starting and is reprimanded by Saffy for this. Of course what follows is humorous and oh-so enjoyable. You really must watch this episode for yourself to get the full effect. Thanks to BBC Home Entertainment for producing such an over-the-top comedy that allows you to forget reality for a bit and just enjoy the adventures of Edina and Patsy. 'Absolutely Fabulous" is fantastic and is not to be missed!

Whom You Know Gives Absolutely Fabulous Our Highest Recommendation.

They’re back, darlings. BBC
Home Entertainment is absolutely thrilled to bring Absolutely Fabulous: 20th Anniversary
Specials to DVD on September 11, 2012. International comedy sensations Jennifer Saunders (
French & Saunders) and Joanna Lumley (The Corpse Bride) return to their celebrated roles
as Edina Monsoon and Patsy Stone in three all-new specials, written by Jennifer Saunders.
Twenty years since we first met them, the ladies are a tiny bit older, none the wiser, but
definitely still Absolutely Fabulous.
The original fashionistas, PR rep Eddy and best friend/enabler Patsy, were often found at the
bottom of a champagne bottle – and not much has changed. Eddy’s daughter Saffron (Julia
Sawalha, Cranford) is still hard-working and largely ignored. Eddy’s mother (June Whitfield,
Doctor Who) is still around, and still unwanted. Bubble (Jane Horrocks, Arthur Christmas),
Eddy’s colorful assistant, is still… well, Bubble. In the first of the new specials, there’s a
homecoming for one of the ladies who has been “away” for quite some time. She returns with
her new, slightly scary best friend in tow, with wide reaching ramifications- including forcing a
certain person to own up to her real age… if she can still remember what it is. In the second
special, Eddy sets her sights on changing the career of a very big fish indeed; and in the final
special, Eddy and Patsy play their own very special part in the London 2012 Olympics.
Jennifer Saunders won the 2012 BAFTA TV Award for Female Performance in a Comedy
Program for her performance as Edina Monsoon. The Absolutely Fabulous 20th Anniversary
specials premiered simultaneously on BBC AMERICA and Logo in the US starting in January
2012, and on Vision in Canada in June 2012. Absolutely Fabulous is a Saunders and French
production for BBC, co-produced by BBC AMERICA and Logo. A
ll previous seasons of Absolutely Fabulous are available from BBC Home Entertainment, sold i
ndividually or all together in the Absolutely Fabulous: Absolutely Everything collection.
